About Marian Sheedy

We both grew up in this area and built Fuschia cottage as our home in 1995 when we got married. We lived here for several years until we moved nearby to another house. We both have worked in the catering business since college and currently run Roadford House Restaurant in Doolin village. We have two children - Blathnaid and Jack, a dog called Beans

We enjoy guests coming to our home and make every effort to ensure their holiday in one to remember. Several guests return year after year so they are now family friends.

Our 4th stay at Fuschia cottage. Wonderful. We love the cottage and the Roadford House Restaurant. We enjoy Doolin and the rest of Clare and look forward to our return next year.

Simply Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Doolin was a trip of a lifetime. We came to the Western Coast of Ireland to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday with the family. Fuchsia Cottage exceeded our expectations and provided a clean and cozy home away from home. The sun room was our favorite place to sit and enjoy the ocean and the changing weather over the Aran Islands. The views from this room are amazing! The owners, Frank and Marian, were warm and inviting and went out of there way to make sure our stay was comfortable. They were always available to answer any questions or needs we had. The cottage was well appointed with most everything you need to cook simple meals and live in comfort. The location of the cottage was perfect to enjoy all the Burren and Cliffs of Moher have to offer. Highly recommend...Overall amazing two weeks.

An amazing cottage with an amazing view.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this secluded cottage outside Doolin. Close driving range to Doolin. Cottage was very clean, comfortable and a lot of room. We absolutely loved the sun room we spent a lot of hours in there. Marian and Frank were very friendly, very helpful in booking tours, and if we needed anything were there immediately. Very private location with great views of the ocean. Ocean looks closer than it is. We drove to the ocean and walked along the rocks. Doolin is about 5km from the cottage which is a quick easy drive. Doolin has some great pubs and shops. Also took a boat to the islands which Marian set up for us, was a great day trip. We spent a week in Kenmare and a week in this area and we loved both.

Outstanding house and location!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at our house we were greeted with a basket full of fresh goodies and a welcoming note! The house is really well equipped (we like to cook at home!) and there were instructions for all of the appliances. Our host, Marian, came over to meet us and also helped us find some incredible things to do in the area and helped us book everything. I highly recommend this property, you won’t be disappointed!

The house was beautifully decorated, we welcomed the freshly baked goods on arrival, thank you Sheedys! The house has everything you need and has terrific views. There is so much to do close by. We explored the Burren, Doolin and Aillwee caves, visited the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin village , Aran Islands, horse riding is close by too. Sunrise and Sunset are not to be missed at the house! It was a great break!

Words are not enough

  • 5 of 5

No description would do justice to this "cottage". It more closely resembles a luxury ski chalet. It sits atop a hill next to Ballinalackan castle, with a panoramic view from the Cliffs of Moher to the Aran Islands, the Burren, and Galway Bay. The area offers within a short drive tourist destinations, bike and hiking routes and golden sands. Unforgettable for this family was barbecuing on the outdoor patio, viewing the sunset from the sun room or watching the sunrise while eating breakfast. Seafood in this area is magnificent and Doolin offers a wide variety of culinary treats.
