About Cindy Newman or Pam Singer

We are the owners of Villa Oceana and this picture is on our beach at a sunset wedding.

We live in central PA and we found our house when we were vacationing for the first time on the island with our families and fell in love with Sapodilla Bay!

Cindy Newman or Pam Singer purchased this villa in 2005

Why Cindy Newman or Pam Singer chose Turks & Caicos

We have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and every time we go somewhere else we always think that there's nothing better than Villa Oceana and Sapodilla Bay! We have made this home comfortable for ourselves as well as for our guests. And have really thought of what we and our guests need in a house to make this a perfect vacation getaway! From the second you walk through our front door and kick off your shoes you will be relaxed and excited to get out on the beach. You will enjoy calm warm ocean water, absolutely breath taking sunsets, not to mention a huge pool for cooling off in! There is much to do on the island, but so many of our guests don't even want to leave the serenity of our house and beach!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our repeat guests, the Forgerons, emailed to say that though they have stayed at many different villas on many different islands in the Caribbean, our Villa Oceana is their favorite! They are looking forward to coming back this May!

Thanks Joan!!

Can't wait to go back...

  • 5 of 5

The photos were nice, but truly did not do this place justice! The home was bigger than we had pictured and the layout was great. It was great for our kids as well. They could swim in the ocean, run back up to the house and jump in the pool and back to the ocean.

So relaxing and most of the time we felt we had a private beach. If there were 2 other groups on the beach, that was a lot!

The sand was so soft and the ocean was absolutely beautiful and crystal clear. No coral or rocks or sea urchins!

We were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurants on the island were excellent (though expensive, as most islands are). Shark Bite was incredible bar food and the kids loved it because we actually saw sharks swimming by. Our favorite restaurant was Coyaba. High end, but great food and a great wine list.

But we actually had our best meals at the house when we just threw some steaks on the grill and lounged in our swimsuits while they were cooking!

Sappodilla Bay Gem

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to Sapodilla Bay but our first to Villa Oceana. The house was more spacious then the pictures on the site, the pool very large and we were extremely pleased with the accommodations. Not a lot of beach front properties on this quiet and often deserted beach and it was truly a week we would like to repeat. House was clean and well equipped. La Brisa restaurant is a 5 minute short walk, good fares and very good service. Beats driving to Grace Bay on the left side of the road at night. Management company greeted us at the airport, took to the house and gave us the information needed for the house and property. They were very responsive to any questions or issues. Only issue really was as a result of the heavy rain on our second night with some leakage in the roof which we had been forewarned might happen. Roof does need repair or replacement but owner is aware of this. Hard to get stuff done on a timely fashion on the island I am guessing.

I would recommend this property for family vacations, great for children young or a bit older. We were 4 adults and three boys ages 16, 15 and 11. Plenty of room for everyone. The house would also work well for 3 couples. Villa Oceana hope to see you again soon!

This was a beautiful spot to spend a vacation.

  • 5 of 5

We spent ten lovely days at the house. It was one of the nicest homes we've ever rented. The house itself was absolutely beautiful. Everything about it was perfect. It was very well maintained, inside and out. It was stocked with a few basic items upon arrival. That is a huge plus, after traveling. The beach is beautiful and very private. The food on the island was over the top.We did not have one bad meal. The grocery stores were great too, as we did most of our own cooking at home.We would recommend this house to friends and family, and are already thinking about returning!!!

Well managed & ideal in almost every respect

  • 5 of 5

There are many reviews already, which we found completely accurate about how great this place is, so I'll just add a few additional detailed notes on specific things that may help you make a decision:

The pool is *remarkably* nice. It is large, and starts out very shallow (like, baby-shallow) and stays toddler-height until about halfway. At that point it drops and becomes deeper to the other end. It's wide enough for many people to play and float, but narrow enough that a weak young swimmer is never far from the wall even in the deepest part of the pool. Our five year old who has just barely begun swimming loved it madly, and her swimming got much stronger over our stay. Having rented many villas in the Caribbean, this was probably the best pool of any we've seen for younger children. There was also plenty of shade and convenient chairs to watch a child from, both at poolside and at the beach.

The villa management is incredibly responsive and dealt with the handful of issues that arose very effectively. The wifi password had gotten reset; it was fixed before we got back from grocery shopping. The living room A/C had to be replaced; it was replaced the next day. They called and warned us about Hurricane Erika two days in advance, and literally five minutes after the airport announced a closure, they called and told us, fully 24 hours before our airline finally officially canceled our flight. Thanks to their heads-up, we were able to get the last few seats on an earlier flight and get home on time. Just completely solid and reliable and did everything you would want.

As a benchmark in case you like A/C, it was extremely hot during our stay and we ran it in the house all day every day, usually to 26-28 C, keeping the doors and windows shut. The bill ran us $275 for 10 days.

The minor cons:

- no good reading lamps for the night

- the rock walkway to the beach can get very hot for tender little feet and is rough in places, bring flip-flops

- washer/dryer is outside the house downstairs

We've stayed on Sapodilla Bay before and in several other Caribbean villas before, and this one was top-notch.

Family Vacation - September 2014

  • 5 of 5

We were greeted by Dinesh at the airport and brought to the villa. The house is not as modern as the other homes on the bay, but that didn't bother us one bit. It has a very homey feel and perfect for T&C. Let me start with the few hiccups, the pool umbrella broke during our stay, which was not a big deal as there were many other areas around the pool and beach with shade/palapas. We experienced a leak in the kids room for part of our stay. Lastly, there was one day that the pool was being serviced and the pool was unavailable for the day due to the filter not working. Now with that said, Dinesh was accommodating through it all. The leak was not a big deal as it didn't affect any of my boys that were sleeping in the room. The pool being unavailable for one day didn't ruin our trip as the beach is absolutely gorgeous and we spent the day there.

When we go on vacation we have very high expectations. Had the above happened to us at any other place/resort I would be livid, but because the villa/grounds/beach are so breathtaking there is no way you can concentrate on the negative. We were 5 adults, 4 kids, and an infant. We rented the guest suite which was an added plus. I dealt with Cindy who was very helpful and answered all our questions. She is so sweet and fabulous! The kitchen is newly renovated and equipped with everything you need. The swimming pool was huge, lots of beach chairs throughout the house. We had use of the paddle boards and kayaks. During our stay the beach was completely empty. It was as if we were on our own private island. There is a local restaurant located by the villa called Bugaloo's (we've been to T&C twice and love this place).  We find it easier to rent a car during our stay and drive to the market and local restaurants.

We are already planning our second trip to Villa Oceana next year. They are the most reasonably priced villa on the bay and it's money well spent. I look forward to working with Cindy again!

Great beachfront villa for families and couples! The sunsets on this beach are the best on the island. Come check out the powder soft sand and the calm, crystal clear warm water of the Caribbean Ocean!

So much to check out and see or do nothing but relax at the comfort of your own beachfront villa!

There's a wonderful restaurant/bar that is walking distance from the villa, but there's also a grill on our patio for cooking fresh fish or just throwing on burgers and hanging out!

We are only a 15 min. drive into Grace Bay where all the resorts are and many wonderful restaurants...but most people don't ever want to leave the villa!

Other Activities: kayaking and stand up paddle boards for your use at our villa!

Golf: There is a golf course on the island that is very popular and only a 15-20 minute drive from the villa!
