Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Saint Ives - sandy feet cottage

2 bedroomed cottage close to 3 beaches and restaurants

Sandy feet cottage is a delightful fishermans cottage in the heart of the downalong area of St Ives. It is perfectly situated between Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches. Porthmeor beach is a blue flag beach famous for its surf and Porthgwidden beach is a more sheltered and ideal for families with small children. It is also within a strolling distance of the town centre and its many restaurants and cafes and the tate gallery.

Sandy feet itself is a 2 bedroomed property which has been recently renovated to offer comfortable and stylish living.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine/drier, cooker and hob with a table and 4 chairs.

The living room has tv and dvd player and ipod dock and speakers plus 2 sofas.

Upstairs there is a bathroom with toilet, sink and a bath with shower.

Bedroom 1 has a kingsize bed ,chest of drawers, walk in wardrobe and 2 bedside lights.

Bedroom 2 has twin single beds, bedside cabinet with bedside lights and a chest of drawers.

A family of four, we had a wonderful week, the cottage is in a perfect location, so refreshing to be on a holiday and not have to use the car once!!! Everything you could wish for is on the doorstep, and the children can roam free. Inviting and cosy, the cottage has a lovely kitchen/lounge area, perfect for families and get togethers, (welcome pack used straight away, thank you) and nice relaxing bedrooms, just what you need for the end of a day body boarding, lounging on the beach, and a wonderful fish dinner, Bliss !!!!

Great location, very clean, tidy and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen to self cater.

Really enjoyed my stay at the cottage. It's very well situated for all St Ives has to offer within easy walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants and beautiful beaches. Vikki is a very helpful host responding promptly to all my emails and texts and nothing was too much trouble for her. I was lucky enough to be able to park on the island car park which is minutes from the cottage but it does get very busy. I'm looking forward to visiting again in the future! 😊

Perfect holiday home

  • 5 of 5

Just come home from a long weekend at Sandy Feet and wish we could have stayed longer. The house is in such a perfect location. The harbour, The Island, Porthmeor Beach and the smaller, lesser known Porthgwidden Beach are all just a couple of minutes walk from the house.

The house is well furnished and the kitchen is modern and well equipped. The open plan living area is comfortable and the 2 bedrooms (master + twin) provided us all with good nights' sleep.

We will definitely be coming back.

Great location

  • 3 of 5

Great place to stay for a long weekend, parked car in Island longstay car park, not moved all weekend! And it's only 5 mins walk away.

We were very lucky with the weather in April!

Would benefit from a dishwasher, otherwise the cottage has everything you need

Small downside, Being so close to the harbour has the downside of noise from seagulls, and the neighbour will wake you before 08:00

Owner's Response: In essence this is a lovely review with a rather harsh rating. In response there is nothing we could do to correct the negatives. We really work very hard to provide a competitively priced cottage in a great location that we genuinely take pride in. The seagulls are noisy in St Ives but realistically you could pay a lot more money and still be woken by them! It is true we don't have a dish washer but we are clear in the spec that we don't as well so to list it as a negative is a little unfair.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

This property was in a superb location, adjacent to beaches, coastal path, and several reasonably priced cafes, restaurants etc, best away from the crowded front. The facilities were more than adequate for our needs. Of course, you can't park in the narrow streets (one car width) but there is an 'island' car park 3 minutes walk away. However, parking there is difficult, even out of season when we were there, and costs £7.50 a day, so be warned. I suggest you have a wee dawdle using Street View.

We liked St Ives, and visited the usual attractions (Botallack and Levant tin mines, Hepworth Garden, Michael's Mount etc.) and enjoyed sections of the coastal path and beaches. The Tate was closed for redevelopment but my spies tell me this was no great loss and the Hepworth garden was superb. A particular thank you to the beam engine enthusiast and volunteer at Levant mine who gave a graphic account of life in the mines in its 100+ year history and fired up the engine.

I suspect I would not want to be in St Ives in early August!

Owner's Response: Thank you for such a really lovely review. Very much appreciated! So pleased you had a great stay. Car parking is a nightmare in St Ives. We always recommend the rugby club as it's the guaranteed car parking spot and saves a whole lot of stress.
