10 Treglyn - wonderful countryside with lovely views just 2 miles from Rock

Bedrooms 3
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

Comfortable self catering cottage that sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms

Located just 5 minutes drive from the sea, near to the beaches at Rock, Daymer Bay and Polzeath, 10 Treglyn is a family-friendly and welcoming cottage at Treglyn Farm is the perfect place to relax. Set in a peaceful location close to Rock and Polzeath in North Cornwall, Treglyn Cottage is a spacious and well equipped home from home, decorated tastefully in a New England style and with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Set in Treglyn Farm it is a safe environment for children to play outside in the extensive grounds.

Not only is the cottage well-served for numerous beautiful beaches, but within 10 miles there are four excellent golf courses, as well as the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac (location for the TV series Doc Martin); Padstow with its famous Rick Stein restaurants; the Camel cycle trail and slightly further afield, the world renowned Eden Project. This is a perfect location for families, surfers, golfers, foodies and walkers.

The accommodation is spread over 2 floors, with double patio doors at the back and front leading to a large garden. At the back is a patio and barbecue area for Al Fresco dining.

The large and airy open plan downstairs is furnished in a New England style with seascape pictures. There are two leather sofas, TV, dvd and video, dining table and chairs seating 8 people and a recently installed fully equipped kitchen, including large fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher, electric ceramic hob and double oven. Large patio doors front and back provide a light and airy feel to the cottage and open out onto a patio/barbecue area for al fresco dining. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom and family bathroom with bath with shower over.

Cornish locals will tell you that Cornwall has its own climate and that the weather always confounds and contradicts the weather reports. It rarely gets really cold but it can get stormy and wet. In the summer, if you get the weather, there really is no better place to visit.

Cornwall and particularly the North Coast is a great place to visit at any time of year and in any weather. It is steeped in history and its stunning scenery provided inspiration for many of Daphne Du Maurier's books. Jamaica Inn visited and written about by Daphne du Maurier is 30 minutes from 10 Treglyn Cottage.

Trebetherick just 3 miles away is the home to St Enodoc's church, a place of inspiration to Sir John Betjamin and indeed his final resting place. Additionally there is St Enodoc's Golf Club which has two 18 hole links courses, its natural terrain is both beautiful and challenging.

The rugged ruins of King Arthur's fortress, Tintagel are just 12 miles away. There are breathtaking views to be seen along the coastline.

The Eden Project, home to the largest indoor rainforest in the world is 18 miles away with plenty of seasonal activities suitable for all ages.

Excellent base for North Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfect with all that you would need for a stay in stunning North Cornwall. We missed nothing from home it was all there. Lovely bright & cheerful rooms, well tended garden with fire pit & bar b que. We had fabulous weather so made the most of the very near beaches - Polzeath, Rock & the delightful little cove of Port Quin.

Great holiday in a fantastic cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a great week at 10 Treglyn. The cottage and gardens were clean and well-maintained.The cottage is equipped with all kind of household utensils (dishwasher, washing machine, etc.), you don't miss anything. The perfect start to our holidays was to find all the ingredients for a cornish cream tea (fresh scones, clotted cream and milk in the fridge, tea and jam) at our arrival. We felt at home immediately. The rooms were all very nice and comfortable, the views are beautiful. The cottage is in a very quiet area, so we could relax and enjoy the nice surroundings. Our children found lots of toys to play with and even beach gear was available. In a few minutes time there are plenty of great beaches, during our stay we went to 5 different beaches, all really beautiful. Shopping facilities are not far away and all the restaurants and pubs we visited were great. All in all it was a wonderful week. We will definitely come back!
