About Shona and Ian

Ian and Shona are both Highlanders and have lived in the town for many years. We stay nearby so are on hand to help with any questions and problems.

Shona and Ian purchased this house in 2014

Why Shona and Ian chose Inverness

We loved the location, being so close to the Ness Islands yet close to the town centre. We have a dog Jody who enjoys walking in the islands and further afield to the Caledonian Canal which is also walkable. The house is near Bellfield Park which has lovely gardens and is great for the grandchildren.

What makes this house unique

Great location. Comfortable house.

Nothing better than being on vacation but feeling like you're home!

  • 5 of 5

This home is perfectly situated. It has a wonderful view and a completely cozy, homey feel. There were 5 of us (2 couples and 1 single) and the amount of room was just perfect. Everything we needed from preparing meals to doing laundry was available. The walk from the house to city center was under 10 minutes. (Even in a wee bit of rain.) Shona was great, and so understanding, even when we arrived later than planned. I would very highly recommend this accommodation.

Lovely Home Across the Street from River Walking Trail

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time in Inverness! The house is a great location and within walking distance of restaurants, the movie theater, and the center of town. It was clean and quiet. There was an outside parking space in front of the garage and the house was easy to find. You have all the appliances you need including a dishwasher, hey who wants to hand wash dishes when you are on vacation! We loved the location and its easy access to all the sites that surround Inverness.

A beautiful spot of Inverness to stay, well equipped and cosy

  • 5 of 5

We had some great weather, although we were working at the theatre we still managed to enjoy everything the house had to offer, from breakfast outside in the garden to watching a film late at night! Thank you Shona and Ian for the stay and for ferrying us and our cases to the theatre to meet the taxis in the rain.

The castle can be part of a cruise down the famous Caledonian Canal and through the loch where a glimpse of 'Nessie' might be seen. Inverness is surrounded by a variety of landscapes that can be explored on foot, by bicycle, on horseback and even by glider. All can be accessed here. There is sea coast to explore and friendly dolphins and other wildlife to see. There are several whisky distilleries and breweries to visit. Castles to explore including Cawdor, Brodie and the fairytale turreted Dunrobin at Golspie. Inverness can be the base for a range of day trips: to Skye, to the gardens at Applecross, to Nairn beach or to the adventure park at Carrbridge. There are also many places where you can purchase locally made craft products including jewellry, pottery and original art. Castle Street art gallery keeps a selection from local artists.
