We had a great stay in this spacious accomodation, lots of room for 8 adults. Modernly updated while still maintaining lots of the old character. Good restaurants, bars and shopping in the area and the city centre is a pleasant 15 minute walk away. Would definately recommend this location.

A wonderful warm and inviting great Scotish residence for a large family or group with every amenity

  • 5 of 5

Our time in Scotland was truly enhanced by our accommodations and knowing we were coming HOME to a great place after long days exploring. The closeness to transit down 3 blocks away, aswell as being a nice 20 min saunter up to Princes street, Waverly Train station and a few more minutes up to the Royal mile made our adventures more than easy. Or going on the Stockbridge area and meandering 20 mins to the wonderful Botanical Gardens! The creature comforts and extras supplied by the wonderful owners of the Upper Villa iced the cake - from having tea, coffee some spices, sugar, including having milk, bread, butter, cheese and basic sundry items for laundry were greatly appreciated. As well as the flowers in the entry way, the terrific information guides, and the openness to answer our questions or print off our boarding passes bring highest Kudos from this Canadian Family of 7. One suggestion might be the investment in a slow cooker so when out and about supper is done when the group returns. Being close to several small grocery shops as well as numerous specialty shops for cheeses, wines, the butcher and take out shops for fast food also lent itself to being a great area to stay in.

Having the Drying rack in the Kitchen or as it was dubbed by our teens "the torture rack" worked fabulously to get clothes dried. The spaciousness to allow for the whole group to eat supper at the table or spread out when it was down time worked really well with the Old folks & teenagers. The ambiance of the upper villa, knowing it had years and years of history and the unique Scottish architecture truly lend to the adventure in Visiting Scotland... Thank you so much for giving us a great stay Rona!!! We will recommend you to all our friends and family and hope to return in a few years. The apartment was even better than we expected and we had a wonderful week there. All eight of us had lots of room and were very happy in the apartment. Rona was lovely to communicate with and left very clear instructions and helpful suggestions. Would highly recommend.

BEAUTIFUL Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 (2 seniors, 4 adults and 2 teens) stayed in this beautiful home for 5 days. It is very large, so our family had plenty of room to sit and visit with each other and eat if we wanted to in the home. The decor is fun and the details in the ceiling are gorgeous. The bedrooms are huge and the beds are very comfortable. The view of the garden out back is also very lovely. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

This home is in a perfect location. Just down the road are pubs, restaurants and food markets and within a 15-20 minute walk we were in the heart of Edinburgh and the castle. Waverly Station is easy to walk to and a day train ride to and from Glasgow was fun to do. We took a Rabbi Tour company tour to the Highlands and our guide was Jan who is absolutely amazing! Great historian and the sights were amazing.

Scotland ended up being our favorite country on our 5 country tour and this home could not have been better for us. I highly recommend it for any family traveling to Edinburgh!
