Why Stay Anywhere Else?

  • 5 of 5

I can't believe we found this place and it was available at the last minute. With as nice as this place is, it should be booked all 365 days of the year. So many times on VRBO the pics are so out of date or taken at perfect angles when you walk in there is nothing but disappointment. Not at this place. The pics are exactly what you get. A super spacious and clean apartment with very high ceilings and the location is perfect. We were not smart enough to plan ahead and take advantage of the parking and we sure wished we would have. There are parking ramps that work but they are a good 15 minute walk. Make sure you take them up on their parking offer. In addition to a huge kitchen with all the pots and pans and dishes you need, there is a great shower with built in shampoo, conditioner and body wash and brand new towels. The bed is very comfortable and is right by the windows for a great breeze. The location next to the town square is so cool and there is a grocery store within 2 minutes (Supermax). As others have said there are steps to get to the apartment so if you have problem with carrying luggage up stairs you might want to find a different place. The only other thing we could possibly find wrong with this place is the noise at night. But come on..... you are in downtown San Juan, open the windows and enjoy the sounds, it's just people having fun and the sounds of a city in action. Last but not least, the property manager Kim is amazing to work with. We booked super last minute and were probably not the most attentive people to work with and she could have easily made our life hard but instead she made it easier than anyone on VRBO ever has. Thank you Kim! We will be back very soon!

Owner's Response: Thank you for this great review! We work hard to keep the place clean and comfortable and to help our guests as much as possible, since we know how important all these things are specially when visiting a new country. The location of this apartment is prime and as an added bonus there is 24/7 security right in front. For those with light sleep we are now also providing ear plugs :) Welcome back anytime!

Amazing rental in heart of Old San Juan

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time in this rental, if you're considering-you should definitely book it! The apartment is located in an excellent central location in OSJ, walking distance to the forts and very nearby to the free shuttle pick ups. The square has security and police presence and felt very safe. The rental is decorated beautifully, is clean, and the roof top space is enjoyable. AC was great to come home to after long day out. Communication with management was also seamless. The parking spot was a good add on, but be sure to rent a small car because the ramps are very tight. I stay in VRBOs/AirBnBs often and this is one of the best. Thanks, Nikki

Clean, beautiful, great location

  • 5 of 5

Amazing location near all the great bars, restaurants and tourist attractions in Old San Juan. And in addition to being beautiful (on the outside and inside), the place was very well maintained, cared for and clean. It shows the owners/ manager have thought through how to make their guest's stay as comfortable as possible. And on that note, Kim was very responsive and attentive. When I go back to OSJ, I'll plan to stay here again.

Great location, very clean and pleasant

  • 4 of 5

Excellent location. Bed very comfortable. Enough equipment to cook - note the knobs on cooktop are on backwards e.g. Low is high. Other reviews are accurate so read for details.

Beware- Steps involved to reach both apartments and upstairs deck. The lowest apartment on 2nd floor of building is 52 steps to upper deck.

There are not screens on balcony doors but glass over the wood doors openings - so you have to totally open doors to get fresh air and potential bugs. The city is doing an excellent job of trash pick up and washing the streets so there are few bugs.

Suggestion to management- update your door opening instructions to inform about broken interior stair door lock not working or remove the lock. Also add to these instructions the location of the wifi instructions etc. TV channels list needs to be updated it's a little worn. One item we would add is another chair similar to the one in the bedroom. We moved the bedroom chair to the living room as we found the lounge/ twin bed sofas uncomfortable-- so my husband and traded using the chair -- also the lights in bedroom and main room are poor for reading---

The apartment was beautiful, charming, clean, and very spacious

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was a perfect choice for my family and me. It was right in the heart of Old San Juan. We loved how we could just go downstairs and be able to walk around the area. The apartment was very clean and very spacious. The air conditioning worked great!

Cozy and Cool in Old San Juan

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I traveled light for a short getaway from the cold. It was easy to communicate with the owner for this booking via email and we booked last minute, just four days before arrival. The property is as listed and the access information accurate, easy to follow. Charming two unit building with common rooftop deck has good wifi, cable, good AC, kitchen basics and small but functional modern bathroom (and 2 beach towels!). The apartment had all hard floor surfaces, a comfortable but small bed (insufficient pillows) and great open interior space. We hid out from the heat here mid-day, and chilled out after long walks touring the shopping, dining and cultural attractions in the area.

We loved the local beaches, and Old San Juan area, and tried several restaurants and enjoyed all of them (Loved Waffle-Era Tea House just down the hill on Calle San José for breakfast - good tea is hard to find if that's your thing).

Because we wanted to see El Yunque National Forest and check out areas outside San Juan, we rented a car. We jumped on the parking space offered, and we were glad we did. Finding parking could have eaten up hours of our short stay in the narrow and full streets of Old San Juan.

We did find it noisy, and we were warned. We are used to quiet, but the building walls are not very thick, the window openings are large, and the buildings loom right over the streets, so all kinds of noise penetrates the apartment bedroom. If you are a light sleeper, consider earplugs or white noise machine. The last night that we were there happened to be disturbingly loud. There was some kind of equipment or lift running all night nearby, trash pickup, hosing off buildings, trucks parked outside our window, we think they were decorating the State Department for Christmas, literally all night. There is the potential for noise. No kidding.

I would definitely recommend this location for couples traveling alone. Will accommodate 4, but the two divided sections of the sectional couch would probably be less than ideal. We would say this place is definitely made for 2 - who want to sleep next to one another. Offers a nice space for entertaining, with rooftop deck and nice kitchen table and sectional sofa. We did not have guests, but it would be nice. For both of us, our day on the beach at Ocean Park was the nicest break from our cold winter, but we know there are many nice beaches within 30 minutes of Old San Juan.
