Note: This is not a Hotel, but private Lodge.

Location and city a small river going into the fjord.

EXCEPTIONAL LIVING IN LOFOTEN city special Designed house with two facades of glass and extensive use of roof windows. This Consignor gives an exceptional feeling of beeing outside that inside.

Property area of ​​around 4,000 goals includingyour own freshwater withfresh water trouth. All own togetherness with 5 other ground property owners of the valley.

'Skrådalsvannet' is located around 200 meters from the property, in the hill side. Very shallow shoreline and beach wooden ideal for children play.

Further, it takes around 5 minutes with car two Unstad SURF BEACH.

Exceptional tracking routes starts right outside the door and go to Unstad, Eggum and Bøstad. One of theme are an midle age road.

The area has also BEEN exceptionally for movie making, recently load totals 2013.

Wonderful house in a green valley

This is a truly beautiful house in a lovely hidden valley in one of the most fantastic natural paradises of Europe. The house was built and decorated by an extremely caring owner with wonderful taste. After each day's hiking my husband and I were so happy to come home to this bright and cheerful little home, and we felt very lucky to be staying there. The bedroom is like a paradise of light and beauty. All was very clean and I can truly say that it was even more wonderful than the photos. The outdoor space must be great for meals - we had somewhat iffy weather so only managed one breakfast there. The point is that the house is so nice to be in that the weather doesn't matter. The sound system is beautiful and we were able to hook up our phones to listen to plenty of music. Helge the very friendly owner, with whom we corresponded by email, is literally on call and responds helpfully to every comment and question and has suggestions for local activities. I had some questions before arriving and his help was invaluable. His neighbors Richard and his wife were there to help as well. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and were very sad to leave. A couple of practical suggestions: it would be nice to have a toaster; there was only one wine glass; and there is not enough silverware, even for two people, one has to keep washing it all the time. And one thing that visitors should be aware of is that the wifi is not high-speed internet, it has only 3G and is slow. (We gather that this may not be possible to fix as it seems to be related to the local cell tower.)

In conclusion, we recommend Helge's house without hesitation and thank him for a wonderful stay!

Owner's Response: Dear Nina: Thanks, a lot. It means a lot to me that people not only see what has been put into the house in planning and effort, but also take the time and effort to write about it. Internally in the house, the idea was to make it as simple as possible- and to make inside/ outside with less boundaries. Extrenally, to combine old traditional house with new minimalistic house is trickey. I designed today, both facades would have been all glass. :) I actually sent a package of wine glasses up to Lofoten, but due to som misunderstanding, it was put in the white house. I was actually thinking that you needed wine glasses:) for your Lofoten Lodge relaxation. I am sorry for that it did not work out acc to plan. Anyway more siverware is also on the way. The wifi should be 4G in the valley and should be 20-40 GB per sec. I have abonement for 20GB per month. This is very fast., I I will complain to the provider . And Nina, if you are in Oslo now, hope we can meet to say hello and a coffi. Just call, you have the number.. Kindly Helge Cato

Der Vermieter hat uns sehr gut mit Informationen vorbereitet.

Wir haben uns in diesem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder dort Ferien machen. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Phantastisches Haus auf den Lofoten

Wir waren in der zweiten Augusthälfte für 11 Tage in diesem wunderbaren Haus. Es ist schön und individuell (durch die vielen großen Fensterflächen sehr hell) und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet: mit einem phantastischen (!) Schlafzimmer im obersten Stock mit Blick aufs Fjordtal und die höchsten Berge Vestvagoyas; sehr schöne Terrasse, nette Wohnküche und kleinere Sitzecke beim Kamin.

Die Lage ist trotz einer kleinen Straße sehr ruhig.

Ideal für superschöne Wanderungen auch auf den anderen Inseln der Lofoten.

Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und ständig erreichbar. Richard, der Verwalter vor Ort, ebenfalls ausgesprochen nett und hilfsbereit.

Wir können diese Lodge nur ausdrücklich und wärmstens empfehlen!

(Einziger Kritikpunkt: die Grundreinigung hätte etwas besser sein können. Vor unserer Ankunft einmal durchsaugen, wäre gut gewesen!)

Schöner Platz auf Erden mit toller Aussicht!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können das Domizil auf jeden Fall empfehlen! Besonders hervorzuheben ist der nette Kontakt zum Vermieter, der gut erreichbar und unkompliziert war, was angenehm ist.

Sehr positiv haben wir empfunden:

- Lage des Hauses in einem der schönsten Valleys der Lofoten

- Guter Ausgangspunkt für Touren auf den Lofoten

- Sonniges freundliches Anwesen: man merkt, dass der Vermieter sehr viel daran gearbeitet und es mit viel Liebe zum Detail aufgebaut hat

- gemütliche, helle, freundliche Einrichtung

- Boot haben wir ausprobiert, war toll!

- Spülmaschine ;-)

- Viele Kissen & Decken im Wohnzimmer

- Tolle Aussicht von allen Zimmern

- Netter Verwalter

- Die Deckchairs im Garten waren ein Traum! Toller Platz zum Relaxen! :-) das haben wir sehr ausgekostet!

Verbesserungswürdig für die Zukunft:

- Generell 1-2 Handtücher mehr bereitzustellen, wäre schön :) (eines pro Person ist wenig, da man auch eines zum Hände waschen braucht und evt. eines für die Haare)

- Bessere Lösung für die Schiebetür am Bad; sie hebelt sich leicht aus

- Bereitstellung eines Haarföns (wir haben dann einen kaufen müssen, da nicht inkludiert)

- Mehr Stauraum für die Klamotten

- Sitzplatz draußen war super schön, aber auf Dauer unbequem, da zu hoch und keine Lehne, aber wir haben es trotzdem genossen, draußen zu essen und zu sitzen :-)

- Ein zusätzlicher geschützter Sitz-Bereich außen mit Überdachung wäre für Regentage/windige Tage schön (warum darf man nicht zur Straße hin sitzen? - Türe sollte dort laut Zettel nicht geöffnet werden)

- WLAN könnte schneller sein, aber wir kamen einigermaßen zurecht (mein Mann musste leider immer wieder am PC arbeiten, eine schnellere Verbindung wäre daher schön gewesen, aber wir wussten es ja schon vorher :-))

- Die Küchenausstattung könnte besser sein, Besteck & Geschirr waren ausreichend da, aber ein Topf mit (!) Deckel, ein feines Sieb, Orangenpresse ... wären toll gewesen.

- Fahrrad haben wir nicht gefunden, aber auch nicht gebraucht

- Geländer an der Treppe oben

- Wir empfanden das Haus als nicht sehr sorgfältig sauber geputzt. Wir sind zwar ordentlich, aber auch nicht penibel. :-) Die Küche samt Küchenschränken, Fronten, Backofen, Herd, Kühlschrank (innen) sollten öfters gründlich gereinigt werden. Das war unangenehm dreckig.

- Es gab nicht mehr viel Holz, um ein Feuer zu machen und wir konnten kein Lager draußen entdecken (haben wir es wenig gebraucht, aber macht die Wohntamosphäre ja auch gemütlich)

I agree in all your points for improvements and we will fix all this fall. 1) Yes more towels will come. The bathroom there in Lofoten is not ideal. It is designed for cruice ship and want to make some natural wood benches there to put things and towels. The whole bathroom arrived complete on a trailer, and I had to use a huge trailer crane to lift it into the house. Anyway, yes more towels ans small hand towels will come. Hairdryer will be installed. The equipment in the kitchen will be doubled. The reason north patio door is not used is just because of the carpet. Wanted The Lounge by the fireplace always be superclean and a "holy"place in the house. I will open it, on your advise.👍 Want to make a shielded place under the south/ west patio. Also plan to make a second bathroom here with a bedroom all glass on 3 sides there and towards the rocks. I am very happy that you did like the sunbeds. They are bolted to the patio in case of a quick incoming storm, easilly make theme fly like fresbee. We are all very thankful that you take the time to give us open feedback.
