Lovely, warm cottage in perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a lovely week at Ardrhu Cottages, and would love to return. The house is very comfortable, lovely and warm, very nicely furnished and with everything you could need for an enjoyable holiday.

The owners, Joanne and Adrian were very helpful, and even kindly took in a medical delivery for my Dad, allowing him to get out and about and make the most of his break.

The cottage is right on the loch front with spectacular views and a lovely walk along the rocky beach. Perfect for dogs, and ours loved it.

We had a lovely week, despite the cold weather. I can say that this cottage has it all. Stunning location, lovely quiet area and a very comfortable home from home! Looking forward to another week there.

A beautiful loch side property with stunning views.

  • 5 of 5

The property had everything you could possibly need whilst staying in these idyllic surroundings with ever changing scenery and views of Loch Linnie. The description is accurate but does not say that it is linked to other properties but this should not put anyone off staying here.

This was one of the best and cleanest properties we have stayed in. There were a few things that the owner could improve on in order for this property to be superb. (The outside garden light didn't work and would have been helpful on late evenings when the dog went into the garden. Some of the handles on cupboards were flimsily held on by a screw and this was not successful. The skirtings in most areas could do with a good clean as with some of the sealants around bathroom fittings. The hoover which we used on a couple of occasions was fairly ineffective.) These are minor issues which can be put right and should not put anyone off this property. The owner was very helpful when sorting out the central heating and log burner and a fridge bulb was replaced the same day but did say that the outside light had never worked!

The area has many attractions and things to do. We visited Mull, spent time on the beautiful beaches at Arsaig and Calgary Bay, walked to see the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall at Kinlochleven, walked along forest trails, had a gondola ride at the Nevis centre and had the most beautiful ride along Glen Etive. The dog loved the beach in front of the house and on arrival at the property just ran and ran in the large enclosed garden.

We self catered and found Morrisons at Fort William very convenient. We also bought some very tasty salmon from the Tobermory Fish shop on the island of Mull. There are plenty of farm shops and cafes if you are in need of provisions or a cuppa! We would recommend this property to our friends and relatives and have done so already.!

Perfect spot to get away from it all. Great beach walks from the door. Fantastic views of the loch and Glencoe. Lots to see and do in the area especially recommend the Lochleven Seafood Cafe for dinner, fabulous local seafood relaxed atmosphere and good service.

Amazing place to be

  • 5 of 5

Over Easter we stayed at Ardrhu for the third time. We hope to return next year. The property is well equipped and extremely comfortable with a fantastic conservatory which is great for playing board games in on stormy days. Whatever the weather the views are simply stunning. If the sky is blue, step out and stroll along the pebble beach. If it rains watch the rain cross the loch and enjoy the warmth of a real fire in the lounge. Glencoe and Ben Nevis are only short drives away. We can not wait to be back.

" WE DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE "

  • 5 of 5

We have only just left this lovely cottage and we are already having withdrawal symptoms!! The cottage and location were were well above our expectations we had before our arrival. The cottage was a real home from home and was much bigger inside than it looks from the outside and well equipped with everything needed for a self catering holiday (although we ate out most days) . The beds were the most comfortable holiday let beds we have ever had and had a lovely big shower to the master . The conservatory was the place to be - that view over Loch Linnhe was priceless we couldn't have been in a better location a perfect base for all that we wanted to do during our stay - very close via car for eating out and the co-op supermarket . The owners Adrian and Joanne were very warm and welcoming and were on hand nearby for any assistance or advice , all the locals were lovely and friendly - our little Scottie dog made some lovely doggy friends and is sulking this morning he is missing his stroll on the beach and the garden at the cottage is just perfect for dogs our dog would just sit on the step outside for hours looking at the view . We will defiantly be returning to this cottage in the future and have no hesitation in recommending to anyone - we have already had friends asking for the booking details on this cottage as they know if we can recommend it then it must be worth a stay . Thank you Adrian and Joanne xx

Visit a battle ground from the clan age, ride a steam train through some beautiful scenery to Mallaig, which travels over the famous viaduct from the Harry porter movies. Or take a walk to one of the many waterfalls in the area. Visit the ski resorts for down hill bike riding or winter ski sports. Sample our exceptional sea food, collected daily for the loch's. You can take a ferry to visit the small islands to view all the wildlife there is to offer.
