About Craig Fair & Diane Bell
My husband and I are retired and enjoy traveling and staying in VRBO rentals. We're very excited to have a vacation rental of our own to show off our small downtown area.
Craig Fair & Diane Bell purchased this House in 2018
Why Craig Fair & Diane Bell chose Johnson City
We originally purchased this property and began renovation for our youngest son and his fiancé. In the middle of the renovation they were transferred to a different city for work. We decided to continue the reno and market the home on VRBO.
What makes this House unique
Very cute neighborhood with sweet neighbors who have lived there most of their lives. The house is just adorable and we have fallen in love with it as we were renovating it.

Great place to stay
A very comfortable little house, very nicely kept and very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed plus some. Has a nice fenced in yard for the dog. Downtown was minutes away, very convenient to everywhere we needed to go. Only issue is the neighborhood had narrow streets, no sidewalks so it was hard to walk the dog.
So glad you enjoyed your stay at Highland House, and found everything you needed for your stay. The neighborhood streets are a bit narrow, but the traffic is minimal. There are also streets within less than a block that have nice wide sidewalks and they go for several miles. I'll be sure to include directions for subsequent renters to ensure that they can easily find great streets for dog walking very nearby.
The house is in a wonderful and sweet neighborhood. Everyone was so friendly. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching the cats, rabbits and birds.
Everything is provided in the house. Downtown Johnson City is just minutes away. It was a most enjoyable stay because of the house and the quiet street.
Diane was always accessible and very accommodating.
So glad you enjoyed your stay at Highland House. Thank you for noticing all the small details and the wonderful neighborhood. We hope you come back soon.
Nice & Cozy
Steep stairs to 2nd floor bedrooms and no bathroom up there. All else is WONDERFULL!!!!!
The house was absolutely perfect. They have done a wonderful job of remodeling an older house in a quiet neighborhood. Our stay was ideal and we look forward to coming back.
We're very glad you enjoyed Highland House. We are glad that you were comfortable an enjoyed your stay. We are very proud of our vintage cottage, and are glad that you had a comfortable stay.
We were in town for a family wedding and the accommodations could not have been more perfect! Our family group of 5 (2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 1 teenager) and 1 well-behaved pooch adored this house! The check-in process was a breeze and the house was incredibly charming, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully appointed. The kitchen was newly remodeled and had everything we needed, plus some extra touches like paper plates and “to-go” cups. We enjoyed the Kureg so much that we may even get one ourselves. We thoroughly enjoyed starting our mornings together sipping warm beverages on the gracious front porch. The beds were comfy and the 2 full bathrooms were very well-done and well-stocked with toiletries + hair dryers. The water pressure was outstanding and the plush robes made us feel like we were at a 5 star hotel. The large backyard was fenced, which was perfect for our dog. Of course, the location was also perfect for walking and enjoyed strolling the charming neighborhood. Finally, we were blown away by the thoughtfulness and special touches provided by the owners. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home with others! We hope to stay again sometime.

Comfort and style
We stayed at Highland House for my Daughter’s wedding. The house was adorable. The owners thought of everything that you might need. The Craftsman home had history and charm, but was completely updated and welcoming. The back yard was fenced and allowed pets. They had a fire pit and grill that really come in handy. We housed everyone comfortably including the dog. Diane and Craig were easy going and were able to accommodate us even when we were late checking out. I highly recommend staying here!
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay, and really appreciated our craftsman bungalow. We enjoy sharing this gem with folks and their pets coming into the area. We hope you come visit us again very soon. It was our pleasure having you and your family.

In the area, you have Bristol Motor Speedway, The Gray Fossil Museum, Historic downtown Jonesborough (the oldest town in TN), and many other activities.
