Refurnished and newly decorated (July 2014) only just ready for renting. The house is cool in the summer due to it's position close to the Adriatic Sea. Large picture windows also make it very iluminous. 2 double bedrooms, large kitchen, separate dining area, with a very spacious comfortable lounge. Natural parquet and marble flooring add style and class. Its own private beautiful garden with many flowering plants and trees to provide shade -- the perfect ambiance for an unforgettable holiday.
And even more.... it's close to the heart of Venice, San Marco Square being just 20 minutes away (foot and waterbus). The Lido Beach, where you can relax and enjoy the sun, sea and sand, is a short 2 minute walk from the house .
The Palazzo del Cinema holding the international Film Festival, Excelsior Hotel and Venice Congress Center are located within walking distance.
Internet connection wi-fi, satellite TV
Born in England, whilst travelling around Europe in the 70's fell in love with Venice and decided to stay, and have been here ever since.
Angela Cook purchased this villa in 1990
For its wonderfull location, close to the beach set in a quite and very green area of Lido, but within walking distance to the centre and boat stops, for Venice.
Its own private garden, a bright and sunny house with
a very positive energy!
The apartment was lovely- clean and organized - just right for our visit. It is situated close (a few blocks)to both the beach and main street on Lido, grocery is nearby, and vaparetto stop. The beds were comfortable. It was a great place to stay for 3 weeks and we hope to return next year! We had no complaints whatsoever. The warning in other reviews re bug spray being needed if sitting in the garden was appreciated.
We enjoyed our stay.
What a wonderful place to stay! Just returned from La Dolce Vita where we spent a wonderful week exploring beautiful Venice and the lovely island of Lido. This well appointed and beautifully decorated apartment was perfect for our family of four. Two spacious bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and a large living area with lots of dvds to watch (if you have time). We arrived and was welcomed by Flor and also a complimentary bowl of fruit, bottle of Prosceco and a fully stocked Nespresso coffee machine. The beautiful beach was a few minutes walk away as well as two lovely restaurants. Venice is very easy to reach by water taxi, every ten minutes. We loved our stay at La Dolce Vita and would definitely recommend. The Nichols Family.
Spent a lovely week here, going in to Venice daily (recommend weekly vaporetto ticket) as well as spending time on the beach which is close by. A perfect combination of culture, relaxation and delicious Italian food.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the garden too.
The apartment is in a quiet residential part of Lido but just a few minutes from the crowds of San Marco; a perfect place to escape.
We arrived to a nice warm and clean apartment and were greeted with a bottle of Prosecco, a panettone and a bowl full of fruit. A nice welcome.
We'll certainly stay again.
Upon arrival we was met with a warm welcome along with a fresh bowl of fruit and a chilled bottle of Prosesco. The property was very clean and well presented.Perfect customer service, met some lovely people and we would recommend this. Its location is within 10mins of vaporetto and bars.
We had a really great week, visiting Venice in the mornings and relaxing on the Lido in the afternoon. The apartment is clean, well equipped and comfortable. A great place to stay.
The Lido — or Venice Lido — is an 11 kilometres long sandbar in the Venetian Lagoon, a natural barrier dividing the Lagoon from the Adriatic Sea, only a few kilometers wide at its widest point. Home to about 20,000 residents.
At least half the Adriatic side of the island is a sandy beach. In 1857, the first sea bathing facility was set up. This was the first time that anything like it had been seen in Europe and soon, the Lido became 'The Lido', a byword for a beach resort. The Lido's success and the fascination of Venice nearby made the Lido famous worldwide. Hotels and private summer villas have remained the heart of an island that is still known today as the 'Golden Island'
LIDO MORE THAN JUST A BEACH …..
The Venice Film Festival takes place at the Lido at the end of every August, bringing celebrities from all over the world. an event not to be missed!
The house is located in the same area as the church of St Nicholas, patron of saIlors. All ships arriving and leaving Venice have always passed in front of this church facing the lagoon.. Where still today the acient ceremony of the 'Marriage of the Sea' is celebrated on Ascension day, a tradition that dates back to the middle ages, a ceremony that symbolically wedded Venice to the sea.
Lord Byron also loved Lido, stabling here his 4 horses, he would enjoy endlous gallops along the beaches. A notable swimmer he would also swim from Lido to Venice.
Tuesday morning, is market day on Lido, here you can mingle with the locals buying their wares, everything is available from food to clothes and much more. Stretching along the waterfront of Riva di Corinto, its a beautiful location, on the Venetian Lagoon.
It is also very easy to visit the islands of the Lagoon from Venice, waterbuses depart regularly from Santa Maria Elisabetta, connecting all islands in the Lagoon.
