Great potential
We stayed in the house for a week at the end of September.
About a month before our arrival we received a message from Rebecca about the house, the check-in process etc. She also mentioned towels are not included and there is a charge. Seriously? We have never come across paying for towels and found it ridiculous. Nevertheless, we argued the case and Rebecca arranged 3 towels for us - on with a hole, one smelled badly and the last one was good. Not a big issue, we just didn't use the smelly one.
On arrival, the bed wasn't made up and we had to do it ourselves. We were only given a single sheet for one of the beds and had to request a double one. No kitchen towels but they were supplied quickly when we asked.
The property has a potential to be a great place but there are too many compromises. The door in downstairs bathroom is not possible to close, shower screen upstairs is very stiff, cheap wonky chairs, not very clean on arrival (had to mop the floor ourselves). The terrace is great and has great views. It was very windy and the bamboo roof was very noisy throughout the night.
They asked us for a deposit in cash (which is fine) but insisted sending the deposit back to the UK by bank transfer. We found this strange. We were asked to sign a contract in Spanish despite the fact we booked through HomeAway.
Rebecca employs a local agency who handles the management of the property (check-in, cleaning etc.). They speak little english. English is not my first language and happy to try to communicate in my limited Spanish but sending a link to google translator came across as unprofessional.
