Why susan helton chose Atmore
Originally from Indiana, I moved to the south at the age of 5 growing up mainly in Pensacola. I moved to Atmore about 20 years ago and have been here ever since. I love the small town atmosphere, the charm of downtown and the convenience of so much being close by without the congestion of a big city. Beaches are about an hour away while the casino and Magnolia Branch creek are only a few minutes away. Ive worked in EMS and/or the Emergency Room here for nearly 20 years. After my mothers passing this year (2018), I decided to buy a home for security and an investment. My sister in Indiana is a vacation home host and tuned me in to the idea. This home captured my heart as it is so much like the house I grew up in. As soon as I walked inside the first time, I felt like I was home. Ive filled the home with cherished antiques and special family items that belonged to my parents, grandparents and beyond. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing my beautiful and much loved home with them.
What makes this House unique
The deep front porch gives a peaceful place to watch the sunset. A nice rear deck overlooks the pretty, rolling acerage and gives plenty of space to run and play. I have a grill and firepit for your enjoyment. The road is a quiet dead end street that makes for a wonderful place to walk to enjoy the views and get fresh air and exercise. Yet, we are close to everything! Walmart is just down the road, I-65 and the casino just 4 miles away. Beaches are about an easy hour drive and I have beach supplies for your use. I like to personalize things for your stay so be sure to let me know who is traveling with you and the ages. Books, games and toys for all ages are here as well as a guidebook and current, local atmore magazine and newspaper.

Peaceful neighborhood, comfortable home
We were here for business, and we had a lot of frantic running around, so coming "home" to this very comfortable and homey home gave great peace of mind. The main bedroom's bed (the only one we slept in) was perfect, the home was clean and well stocked, the neighborhood was quiet, and the back yard was great. We saw stars and heard bullfrogs while outside at night. Yet it was close to lots of shopping and restaurants in Atmore and also close to amazing beaches. Her TV had a great selection of channels (not just the basics), so when we needed to zone out, it was nice to have choices. The owner was so kind and attentive to our needs. We were there to shop for a home, and she left us realty magazines. She had great books on local history (including a FABULOUS book on Monroeville--very close by--and To Kill a Mockingbird). She left us a lovely bowl of snacks ~ so welcome after our long drive ~ and had plenty of condiments and water in her fridge! Overall, it was a peaceful and wonderful experience in a real home. If we go to southern Alabama or northern Florida, we'll stay again!
Thank you so much for your sweet, kind words! I do love my home and am happy it shows. I appreciate your business and hope you come again soon!
