About Yoni Johnson
This is my hometown. I grew up in Bryant and graduated from UALR with my Master's in Secondary Education. My husband and I married at the end of college (just celebrated 19th anniversary!) and we have three wonderful children. I currently work in the home building business with my parents and I'm a Real Estate Agent. I live in a pocket neighborhood that we built within half a mile from Skylark Manor. I spend any spare time I have cooking, hiking, reading, and attending our kids' various activities. I love Arkansas (the Natural State) and all it has to offer our guests.
Why Yoni Johnson chose Benton
Before it was Skylark Manor, this property was established by dairy farmers in the late 1940s. The old barn that was built in 1948 was still there when my parents purchased the property in 1996. My Dad had horses and I would visit on breaks during college to ride Lady their Tennessee Walker. In the fall of 1999 my husband and I got married on the front lawn of this house with 75 of our closed friends and family in attendance. In the next few years, my parents put in a small cabin to live in while they did major renovations on the main house. My husband and I stayed in the cabin when we moved back to Arkansas after a brief stint in Virginia. We turned the one room cabin into two rooms to accommodate our growing family while we built our house nearby. In the meantime, the barn had been undergoing several transformations as a guest house and office space/showroom for our home building business. Over the years we had many family gatherings and hosted various parties and events at the barn and at the main house. My kids learned to fish in the pond and they played in the woods and creek surrounding the property and my oldest even learned to drive in the fields. Fast forward to 2017 and my Mom finally got her wish to renovate the barn into their new home... leaving us with an empty gorgeous home and cabin. I get strange looks when I tell people that my parents moved out of the house and into their barn! We turned the house and cabin into Skylark Manor (wedding and event venue) and recently decided to take it one step further in allowing guests to stay overnight.
What makes this Estate unique
Skylark Manor is such a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The deer often greet me near the front of the gate as I drive up to the house and I've watched many fawns grow up throughout the seasons. It is a birdwatchers paradise with blue birds, finches, cardinals, woodpeckers, egrets, scissortails, mockingbirds, killdeer, doves, hawks, geese, ducks, and the blue heron named Bobo. At the end of the day I would often join my parents on the patio with a glass of wine to relax and watch the koi swim, sounds of the waterfall and birds, spotting families of deer, and having the most gorgeous sunsets (and sunrises) over the fields and pond.
