About Amy & Jeffery Hartman
We are family oriented with 4 children and 12 grandchildren that grew up on horse farms in the area. God has blessed us with this property and a strong desire to share its peace and beauty with others. Jeff has had a dental practice in Huntingdon County since 1980 and recently opened offices in Altoona & State College with his daughter. Amy is a worship leader at our church, watches grandchildren 2 days a week and manages our rental properties and farm workers.
Amy & Jeffery Hartman purchased this House in 2016
Why Amy & Jeffery Hartman chose Huntingdon
The Mountain House was built by the original owners of our farm as their second home when they relocated. In 2016 we purchased the Mountain house and the remaining land to the original farm we live on when the owners were ready to sell. It was always our desire to reunite all the acres of the original farm, and when the opportunity came, we were excited to see that dream fulfilled. We did consider relocating to the Mountain House and we occasionally stay there and share it with out of town family. As beautiful as it is, we enjoy life in our home on the main part of the farm where we can watch our horses run through the fields, and have easy access to our barns. Sharing the Mountain House with guests is something we enjoy.
What makes this House unique
We have stayed in many places through out the world. The beauty, peace and tranquility of this Mountain home is up there with any we have stayed in. The opportunity to view most of the wildlife of Pennsylvania exists from the back deck while in your bathrobe sipping your favorite morning beverage. There is opportunity to explore the rich and diverse landscapes and culture of central Pennsylvania. The Amish community of Belleville is over the mountain in one direction and the culture of Penn State University is over the other mountain, and scattered throughout are many quaint small villages and towns that offer a variety of experiences for the traveler who enjoys country living at its finest.

Mountain Home Escape
This property was beautiful. We had excellent communication with the owners from the minute we booked the property. Amy and Jeffrey were very accommodating to our requests. Amy even made us a pumpkin bread as a welcome gift, which was delicious. The house had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend with friends. We went to Penn State football game on Saturday and spent the rest of our stay enjoying the area. We enjoyed the peacefulness of this secluded mountain home. We roasted marshmallows at the fire pit at night and sat on the covered outdoor porch listening to the rain drinking our morning coffee. We look forward to returning for another long weekend.
Thankyou so much Doreen for your special comments about our Mt House. We are so happy you had an enjoyable weekend, and look forward to your return!
Enjoyed the stay - lovely property, great hosts, easy to work with.
Thank you for the kind review. We were happy to help you by hosting your guests.
Great PSU graduation weekend
This was a nice place to stay for graduation weekend for the five of us. A easy 25 min drive to Penn State and away from the move out/graduation chaos. Amy and Jeff left us a nice warm welcome basket and even stopped up to make sure we were OK.
We are so happy you enjoyed your time at Spotted Hart Mountain house, and we appreciate your 5 star review. Thank you! We hope you will come again! Jeff & Amy
