About this property

Torio guesthouse with panoramic view of mountains & walking distance to beach

Our private guesthouse is suspended over the Torio River, on the west coast of the Azuero Peninsula. It is a nature and bird lover’s paradise. You will be surrounded by mountains and jungle but will be less than a kilometer from the beach and only a 1/2 kilometer from restuarants, a grocery, and the main highway. A path leads downhill to the river. A pleasant hike takes you to a beautiful waterfall. Surfers are only 9 kilometers from the major surfing beach of Morrillo and 17 kilometers from Playa Reina. On your beautiful balcony, you can watch the sun rise over the mountains in the morning and see the sun set over the Pacific Ocean and Cebaco Island in the evening. You can view and hear the ever changing river from your bed.

you will enjoy the independence and self sufficiency of a complete kitchen including a table and chairs, refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, dishes, pots and pans. glassware, dish rack, oven mitts, etc. You can watch hundreds of channels and listen to music on satellite TV. You will enjoy a queen size bed with pillow top mattress and built in drawers underneath. You will have a futon which serves as a couch or extra bed. You will have WiFi and speakersfor your phone or laptop. Our spacious bathroom is well lighted and includes a mirror and cabinet to store your cosmetics and personal items. A little piece of paradise!
We had an amazing stay in the casita :) It’s the perfect little getaway spot. Pat & Bob gave us such great directions for getting there and tips/guidance about the restaurants and stores in the town. Mother Nature even gifted us some fireworks (lightening storm). Definitely a good place to visit if you’re looking for a quiet, low key adventure.

Amongst Nature
My husband and I stayed for a week during January and enjoyed ourselves immensely. First off, Pat and Bob are amazing hosts. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The casita itself was cozy, small but perfect for a weeks stay. The bed was super comfy and we slept well. The balcony overlooking the river was beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed our surroundings while here ‐ hiking down to the river, relaxing in the lagoon, and finding the waterfall. So much fun! It was also a short walk to the two square with several restaurants. Everyone in the neighborhood was very friendly. There was a new French place that opened recently which was VERY good. The food delicious, the owners and cook attentive and personable, the atmosphere divine - don't miss it! Pat and Bob - thank you so much for a lovely stay. It was a perfect ending to our exploration of Torio/Morillo.

Great little casita with a tranquil view.
Patricia was a lovely hostess who went above and beyond to make our stay great. The guesthouse was just adorable and had an amazing view of the Torio river. The main house has a lap pool with a fantastic view of the ocean and floral trees at the pool edge made it a tropical paradise. The guesthouse had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. I would come again for sure and would highly recommend staying at Bob & Patricia’s lovely guesthouse. The Torio river waterfall was amazing and right up the same road as Bob & Patricia’s place, and a short 7 minute walk to Playa Torio and a 3 minute walk to restaurants. Torio is very low key with friendly people and a relaxing vibe.

Peaceful, relaxing stay
We absolutely loved our stay in Panama, mostly because of this little casita and the property managers. The casita was clean and inviting with beautiful views of the lush mountains and the Torio river. Property managers, Patricia and Bob were extremely helpful, kind and full of good information. They were nonintrusive and we appreciated the privacy. We hope to stay there again when we come back to visit and highly recommend this place. It was easy to get to and easy to find. Five stars all around.

About the host

Bob and I are retirees from Florida. We lived across from Ormond Beach on A1A. Bob was a Beach Patrolman (lifeguard, EMT, & policeman) for Volusia County in Florida. He has always been an avid surfer. I am a retired teacher and Behavior Specialist for Volusia County. We love it here because the mountains meet the ocean and it is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled places we have ever seen

Why they chose this property

We wanted a piece of property (we own 4 acres) not a lot and here we have a panoramic view of the mountains on the east side of the house and a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean and Cebaco Island on the west porch. We also have the Torio River running past the north side of the property. It is warm all year and alive with the jungle sounds, animals and birds. It is easy to grow fruit trees and flowers. It is the best of all possible worlds
