About Elizabeth Murray

Ron and Elizabeth are the owners of this property but 'Lilly' the families 'yellow lab' thinks she is in charge. Don't worry, she is real nice! Although the home was built in 2007, this property has been in the family since 1960 and at one time was the home of Elizabeth's horses, but they galloped away : ( Now we enjoy the hills of North Tustin with all its quiet and beauty it still has to offer.

Elizabeth Murray purchased this cottage in 1960

Why Elizabeth Murray chose Orange County

Our family has owned this property since 1960 although the home was built in 2007. We love living here. It is so peaceful and quiet and a unique location here in Orange County California!

What makes this cottage unique

Our home is one of the very few in Orange County that is comparable to a country living, very quiet and beautiful place to live. We have over 80 fruit trees located here along with large eucalyptus and pepper trees and a shallow creek running outside your bedroom window. During summer it is very low compared to winter with the rains that allow for greater water flow. A short walk allows for beautiful views of the untouched local hills or city views.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful stay. My 20 month old son was sohappy to play with Lilly and feeding the chickens, alsop, the owners even gave us some eggs! Wonderful people, peaceful place and vwery relaxing atmosphere...

A Welcome Respite in SoCal!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay in this sweet little property tucked away in the hills of North Tustin. We came to the area to visit LA, DisneyLand, and other area attractions with our 10- and 5-year old and loved settling into a quite respite at the end of a busy day. We found the bed to be comfy (even though we are used to having a King at home... and are quite picky!), and didn't feel like we were on top of one another. The owners were helpful without being "in our space" at all. Loved having laundry in the unit. Fully-stocked kitchen was great. Tip: For some of the best Italian food you have ever had, head to Roma D' Italia (was recommended by Elizabeth)! - We are there 2-3 times in 5 days!

You found it! These are great people running a fantastic unit in an awesome neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

I don't read super long reviews, so I'll keep this as short as possible. Believe me, I could wrote a novella on our stay.

Don't let the "Garage Apartment" description fool you. This is a spacious unit with one bedroom and a loft/nook that comfortably slept my tall frame while my sister took the bedroom. The open floor plan with kitchen, living and dining area was great anchored by a fabulously comfortable sectional couch with a fold out bed if needed. My 6'5" son slept on that couch happily! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we used it! When I say well stocked, I mean salt, pepper, oil, lots of other spices, mayo, mustard, and other condiments. I'm sure this is slightly variable, but saves a nice chunk of change instead of buying it. Of course pots, pans, casserole, collanders, cooking spoons, spatulas - even a candy thermometer. I'm kind of a cooking nut, and this is good stuff. Seriously, this place is ready for a long term (of course, not required) rental and just bring your suitcase.

I'll tell you what though. The people that own this property live right there and really care about what they are doing. The unit has no adjoining walls with their own home and they aren't on top of you at all while also being attentive. I could have hung out with them all day and I'm a bit of an introvert. They are just that nice and thoughtful and considerate. I think this stems from just who they are along with the sweet story of how this property came to be in their family and what it means to them. I feel a little bad, but we had a deck of cards delivered at 9:30pm with a genuine smile. Seriously, nicest folks on VRBO.

Outside has a cute shaded sitting area under a pepper tree where many hours were spent visiting and hanging out soaking up the beautiful California weather. Great Internet, two cable TV's, second outdoor sitting area, good parking, clean....well everything! The neighborhood reminded me of the Santa Barbara hills. It was quiet and very nice.

This is BY FAR the best VRBO (or other service) I've ever done. I wanna live there. Move quick, this place is very inexpensive compared to anything else regardless of the fact that it's the best one out there. I can only imagine that occupancy rate is very high.

Amazing place!

  • 5 of 5

Elizabeth and her family were incredibly welcoming. The place is great and was close to many shopping and dining venues. For us, it was so close to family and friends and was a very handy location. This is great for a couple or young family, and has room to entertain a couple of guests as well. Wouldn't hestiate to stay again or recommend to friends.

Second visit, just as great!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay and again we were not disappointed. The unit is clean and comfortable, just as pictured. The hosts are very welcoming, available if you need anything, but not intrusive, you definitely have your privacy. The location is a beautiful residential area, easily found with GPS navigation, yet close to highways for easy access to local So. Cal. attractions. Having laundry facilities available is a bonus, don't have to overpack, and it's nice to come home with clean clothes. It's so easy to settle right in and feel at home, we hope it's available next time we travel that way!

Perfect for us!

  • 5 of 5

Second time for us, and next year if it's available we will be happy to stay here again. The host is very pleasant to rent from and helpful. This Apt is just so comfortable and reasonable. It really is... perfect for us. Our son lives in Orange county now and we can stay here a week to visit, and have all the conveniences of a local too. We fly, so it is great to have a laundry so we don't have to over pack, and of course a very nice kitchen that we did use! The apt is very comfortable and other then checking in, or occasionally greeting their friendly pet dog Lilly at the door, we hardly ever saw anyone. Totally different schedules. The apt is quiet and private. It is attached to the owners home so on weekends your more likely to visit with the owners, and they are great to visit with and very much respect your privacy, and of course we respected their property and privacy. We are a couple in our early 60s and its quiet and there is one spot reserved for guests in their driveway. It's just a treat!!! The neighborhood is quite impressive. The descriptions and photos are spot on. The nearby park is beautiful, and of course Orange County and all its sights and sounds are the BEST! We love Michigan, but we could fall for Southern California pretty easily if we get to stay here......;) The owner/Elizabeth has a notebook full of brochures and suggestions of area attractions in the apt, nice to go through. If your looking at this one, you won't be disappointed if it fits your needs. 5 stars all the way.
