Stylish self catering 1 bedroom apartment in Merchant City, Glasgow

Available from August 2015 onwards for holiday rentals. Our lovely apartment is in the Merchant City, one of the most popular and vibrant areas of Glasgow, worth walking the surrounding streets just to see the impressive architecture. There is an abundance of great restaurants and bars nearby. The City Halls, home to the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra are just across the road. The apartment, which is on the third floor, has just been completely refurbished. There is a shower room with new bathroom suite and 1700mm walk in shower. The bedroom windows overlook the courtyard. It's a bright, airy property with a large lounge/dining area. The complex has a security entrance and designated parking space.

About Gillian

We are an early retired couple who have owned this city centre property now for eight years. The apartment has been available for rental for a few years. Until then, it was very much kept 'in the family', our daughter and her husband enjoyed living there for many years.

Why Gillian chose Scotland

Greyfriars Court is a bright and airy apartment located within Glasgow's Merchant City, ideal for the business or leisure traveller. The property is very well maintained and offers a uniquely fresh environment for our guests. The bedroom has fitted wardrobes and a king size bed. The large open plan lounge and dining area have two new sofas, flat screen TV with Freeview and Blu Ray player. The kitchen has modern appliances including microwave, hob and oven. There is also a washer/dryer available.

A welcome pack including bottled sparkling water, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk is waiting for you on arrival.

What makes this apartment unique

Fantastic location for visiting Glasgow. There are bars and restaurants on the doorstep and Glasgow's renowned shopping in Buchanan Street is a 10 minute walk away! Although in the city centre, it is surprisingly quiet as the two bedroom windows overlook a courtyard and the lounge overlooks a quiet side street. Rail, bus and motorway links are close by. The Edinburgh summer festival and fringe is only 50 minutes away by train.

We couldn't have asked for a nicer flat in a perfect location. Within walking distance of Concert Hall, shopping, train, tours, and restaurants. Very clean and well organized. Stocked well with kitchen and bath supplies. Everything ran well. No issues whatsoever. Felt like home within hours. Getting set up with Gillian was a breeze. Very helpful. Would stay there again next time we visit for sure.

A Fantastic Apartment

My husband and I spent 4 nights in this lovely apartment. Gillian has taken such care to assure a comfortable stay. The apartment was absolutely spotless, beautifully appointed, and spacious. The kitchen had everything you needed for the preparation of meals, and the bed was so very comfortable that you were guaranteed a great night's sleep. Merchant City is a vibrant area and the Marks and Spencer's is only about a 7 minute walk. Gillian was a delight, and communication with her was effortless. We enjoyed our time in Glasgow and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Gillian's apartment.

merchant city apartment

This is the best place to stay in Glasgow. Gillian was great and very easy to work with. The apartment has everything you would need to stay in and cook or cross the street and choose between multiple bars and restaurants. It helps that the best chippie in town is a block away, I think they got tired of seeing us. The parking is an added feature that is hard to find downtown. Shopping for anything you would want is all within walking distance, from food to clothing, including an Aldi grocery store two blocks away. I will stay here on all future trips to Glasgow

Spacious well equipped clean apartment in great neighborhood

My spouse and I spent 10 days in this lovely apartment located in Merchant City area of Glasgow. We have being booking apartments through VRBO for the last five years usually twice a year and I can say with certainty that this apartment was the most well stocked apartment we have ever used. We did not have to buy any household items as it was all provided. The apartment was very clean, spacious, and located in safe building in excellent neighborhood. Wifi was great. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby as well as several grocery stores. There is even a food hall at a nearby " Marks and Spence" where you can pick up nice bottle of wine and excellent precooked meals. Owners were friendly, helpful and professional. It should be noted that there are three flights of stairs to apartment. Did not cause us any problems and we are each 70 years old, but for some it might be an issue. We can highly recommend this apartment.

Centrally located gem! Gillian, the owner, has thought of everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable. Bright apartment and very clean. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Gillian was a pleasure to deal with.

Great apartment, in a great location

Spotlessly clean apartment, with all mod cons. Everything we needed for a home away from home vacation. Located in a great area, within walking distance to the city and close to all forms of public transport. Owners were fantastic and the cookies weren't too shabby either. Would definitely recommend this apartment and wouldn't hesitate to rent again!
