The Best of Santa Barbara
Having rented multiple homes in California from La Jolla to Newport and from Carmel to San Francisco, this residence easlly falls into my top 2-3 destinations. Perfectly appointed inside and out, the owners obviously took a great deal of pride in designing their home and continue to do in maintaining it. The house is ideally located within easy reach of downtown Santa Barbara, uptown, the 101 freeway on/off ramp, and a famous McConnells' Ice Cream store outlet.. On-street parking is typically available, although you will want to take advantage of one of the two garages behind the home, which are accessible via a private gate. You'll also find a wonderful, fully fenced private patio behind the house, where you can dine al fresco and use the gas-fed barbecue grill. One of the owners previously had a gardening business, I believe, and you can see her touch in the lush landscaping, multiple planters and, even, a private garden of your own, in which she planted tomatoes, herbs, squash and more for us to enjoy during our extended stay. Rounding out the exterior, there's an easy to operate, cozy and private heated outdoor spa adjacent to the master suite to rest your tired body after touring beautiful Santa Barbara -- or to kindle some romance. The house comes fully equipped with linens, basic household supplies, dishwasher, gas stove, kitchen items, etc. While not air conditioned, you won't need it with Santa Barbara's temperate climate; just open the windows for a cooling breeze. There's a small, gas powered fireplace in the living room for cold nights, though unlikely you'll experience this in Santa Barbara. The second bedroom comes equipped with twin beds, which provides you with flexibility when you have guests visit. The master suite also includes a built-in desk and cabinets, should you wish to work while you vacation. Finally, the house even comes with its own pet, JJ, a local scrub jay who nests across the street and will visit you on the front porch from time to time to take food directly from your hand. In sum, I can't think of anything lacking in this residence. And, if it is, be assured that the owners will be fully responsive to your needs. Love this home. Love Santa Barbara. We'll definitely be back!
The property is wonderful. Beautiful home!
Betsey is an absolute gem. She's available to answer any questions, anytime. Her home is beautiful and clean. Quintessential Santa Barbara home full of character. Spacious and comfortable.
Beautiful, Welcoming AND Comfortable!
The cottage is lovely on the outside, beautifully furnished and exceptionally comfortable. Coffee on the sunlit patio, chilly evenings with a good book by the gas fire, short walks into all that Santa Barbara has to offer. Betsy and Pat are very responsive and the Keurig coffee on our first morning after a late evening arrival was very welcome! Do not hesitate!
A perfect place to spend a romantic weekend
From the first moment of driving up to see this quaint home, I was excited. Perfectly pictured. The inside is just as cute. Wish I could live here. Truly a home with all the warmth and coziness in every room.
Living area was very relaxing. Comfy sofa and chair with tv. Dining overlooks the courtyard patio where we took breakfast. Totally private and quiet. Bedrooms and Bath were well supplied with fluffy towels and option for shower or tub is very nice. The kitchen has everything needed for even a gourmet chef. Clean, crisp and well organized. And the best part is the feeling that you’re living in a bungalow from the 20’s and at any moment Clark Gable will drop by.
Very safe area to take a stroll and if you’re able an easy stroll to downtown. Of course the weather is great. Nearby coffee shop. Read the local paper and simply step back in time and relax. Loved the place and will definitely be back
We are so Glad you enjoyed your stay! We hope you will be back to enjoy Santa Barbara abd our little slice of Paradise very soon!
