Charming, Private Cabin to Get Away from It All
Mary Beth & Earl Stewart
About Mary Beth & Earl Stewart
We made Ketchikan our home in 2015 when Earl relocated to work on the Tongass National Forest. We immediately fell in love with southeast Alaska - the rainforest, the pristine water, the wildlife, and the people who make this a vibrant, thriving community. Mary Beth commuted from the east coast for three years and just recently retired from a long career in Federal public service. We are happy to be part of the vibrant Ketchikan island community.
Mary Beth & Earl Stewart purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Mary Beth & Earl Stewart chose Ketchikan
The dreamy water view from the house sealed the deal for us (guests can come upstairs to see the view from the deck). The house and cabin have a history as we have met several people in town who lived or stayed here as kids, with fond memories of the place. Unfortunately, the property was vacant for several years and fell into disrepair. We purchased it after it was renovated, but we have continued to make improvements and add our personal touches to the property. Check out our other VRBO property, a waterfront condo in Naples, Florida, Orchid Cove Retreat - VRBO #1433320.
What makes this Cabin unique
The property is quiet, peaceful, and restful - and we have a wonderful sauna nestled in the trees behind the house that guests are welcome to use! Wildlife and plant life on the property are incredible - old growth trees and wild berries, bald eagles and Steller's Jays, squirrels, Sitka deer, and the occasional black bear passes by (don't worry, there are no brown bears on this island).

Nearby Parks and Beaches: The three state parks on the island are all located close to the cabin, including Totem Bight State Historical Park (amazing totem poles and interpretive trail), Refuge Cove State Recreation Area (beach and trail), and Settler’s Cove State Park (beach and waterfall trail). The cabin is also near the Ward Lake Recreation Area with camping and picnic areas, fishing in the lake and creek, nature trails and longer hiking trails. Guests may use our kayaks and canoes. Boat and rentals are available nearby at Clover Pass and Knudsen Cove marinas.
