A beautiful Cornish seaside cottage... a special place to stay
In a lovely, quiet spot by the pretty medieval church but a minute's walk from shops, great eateries and the quay and five minutes to the nearest of Fowey's two sandy beaches, the cottage is decorated with exquisite attention to detail and is brim full of seaside light and period charm. Everything has been thought of to offer a truly unique and special place to stay for couples, friends and families seeking the seaside life.
The cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway, friends or a family and sleeps up to 5 with plenty of room in both bedrooms for cots, too. It can be rented for short breaks or longer stays and is wonderfully equipped with everything you'll need.
There are two beautiful spacious bedrooms with sumptuous kingsize beds and deliciously luxurious goose down duvets covered in pure natural linen and Egyptian cotton sateen. The largest room has a gorgeous window seat with views to the water that is also designed to be made up as a single bed, with curtains to pull across creating a snug extra space for a child to sleep. There's a cot if needed, too, and each bedroom has a hairdryer, sewing kit and clock. There is a £50 per stay charge for the cot or single bed.
The stylish kitchen is wonderfully equipped including Dualit toaster, Smeg dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, Smeg fridge-freezer and with all the crockery, pots, pans and utensils you could need. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee from the Nespresso coffee machine - coffee pods supplied.
The beautiful bathroom has a large wet room rain shower and extra deep tub for a soothing candlelit soak. There's an ample supply of thick fluffy towels, snuggly towelling bathrobes and a pair of slippers.
Hidden behind the cottage is a little secluded courtyard garden, a cosy spot for breakfast or to while away candlelit evenings in the gentle Cornish climate.
There are books, WiFi, MP3 dock and iPod loaded with lovely tunes, internet TV and subscription to LoveFilm so you can cuddle up with your favourite flicks.
for the little ones...
If you're holidaying with babies or small children you can travel a little lighter as we provide a cot with bedding, trip-trap highchair, baby bath, crockery and cutlery, microwave steriliser, food mixer, little step-up, changing mat, anti-door slammers, socket covers, stair gate, bed safety rail, potty... phew!
There are also a few toys, crayons, dressing-up clothes and books.
There's delicious Nespresso coffee, tea, sugar, tea towels, dishcloths, iron and ironing board, eco-friendly dishwasher tablets, washing-up and laundry liquid, cleaning detergents, hand wash, soap, shower gel, organic bubble bath and tissue.
A delicious treat of freshly baked scones, Cornish strawberry jam and clotted cream welcomes your arrival.
If feathers give you the sneezes just let us know and we'll happily tuck away the goose down and instead make up the beds with our pure cotton anti-allergy duvets and pillows.
You'll find the ancient centre of Fowey lovely and snug so the cottage doesn't have its own designated parking, though there is plenty of space to unload by the front door, where you can also wait a few hours if necessary. Free on-street parking spaces are nearly always available nearby and guests always receive a handy parking map showing the best options. The nearest paid-for car park is less than a minute's walk away by the quay and the main car park is about 5 minutes. You may also buy a weekly permit to park in any of Fowey's and several other car parks in the district of Restormel, which includes Newquay and St Austell, for example, and is handy if you plan to explore by car.
Your well-behaved dog is very welcome to join you on holiday though we do politely ask them to stay downstairs and to keep their paws off the furniture. There is a £35 per stay charge for your dog.
The cottage is always meticulously cleaned and left absolutely fresh and spotless for new guests arriving.
Payments are normally by bank transfer to the owner, though guests may alternatively pay for bookings online through this website. Please note that Homeaway adds a commission fee for online payments. Please contact the owner, who will be happy to answer any questions.

We have just returned from a long weekend at this wonderful cottage and it more than lived up to all of our expectations, perfect for a relaxing getaway.
We found the cottage to be beautifully presented. The decor and attention to detail was exceptional.
The location of the cottage was also ideal. Whilst tucked away on a peaceful side street, it was little more than a minute's walk to Fowey's shops, restaurants and seafront.
We are certainly intending to visit again soon.
Arrived for a weekend away in January with 2 discerning friends. Before we arrived, we received some wonderful tips for things to do in the area which were beautifully written and so the romance began... The cottage was well placed, very near the front and shops/eateries. It was so beautifully furnished and presented we instantly felt relaxed and enjoyed the serenity it offered. We spent a good half hour just walking about saying to each other 'and have you seen this pot/mirror/cupboard/bedlinen - it's gorgeous'. Little touches like fab coffee maker, Cornish Cider stash, bath robes, the pre-loaded ipod made it so lovely we didn't want to go out. My top tips for a Sea Swallow stay: bring enough nibbles/plonk/bread n cheese to keep you going for a few nights, enjoy lazy mornings, lovely walks, fab shops and beachcombing in the day and get back early for a bath, G&T and a read of the paper. In short, Me: 'I wonder if I could send for the children in about a week'; Val 'I'm staying'; Sid 'It's Lush'. Oh, and Fowey's not bad either.
We (family of 3) spent our Christmas at the Sea Swallow cottage and loved it so much so that decided to add an extra night! Tastefully decorated, clean, very comfortable and in a perfect location. Special thanks to Tracy for decorating the cottage with lovely Christmas decorations for us. There is no doubt that she runs this place professionally. We loved it and would definitely stay again.
We loved the location and setting with beautiful views from the upper bedroom. The kitchen is very up to date. We missed the milk frothier advertised. Bakeries were nearby as well as market and shopping and waterfront. The stairs could be an adventure for some.We took the boat tour of the harbor and toured the surrounding areas with Tim of Tour Cornwall on full day tours. It was a wonderful Holiday in Cornwall.
We absolutely loved this cottage. All furniture is very stylish and the kitchen has all you need to cook some fantastic meals using the super fresh and delicious local seafood and fish. We particularly fell in love with the attic room which is bright and large and has, in addition to the king size bed, a fabulous daybed wedged in between the windows which is a real sun trap with a lovely view. The perfect place to sip a glass of bubbly after a long walk.
Fowey itself is gorgeous and super friendly. We had our dog with us and everybody stops and talks to you. We loved the fact that the cottage is right in the middle of the most beautiful part of the town, right next to the church. We were using the church yard as the back garden for our dog, like some other local people and this really worked. Some people mentioned the church bells being a little loud and near the cottage but I thought it was charming and just used earplugs at night. It was the seagulls that were a lot louder! The only slight drawback for us was the fact that the patio was really very small and with hardly any direct sunlight. I would have loved to have an outside space to sit in a lounger and catch some sun. But i guess that is the choice you make if you go for a cottage in such a central location. Overall a fantastic stay in a cottage that is put together by someone who really cares and with a great eye for detail. Tracey's communication was also superb. We had a great time!
We had a great stay at Swallow Cottage. The cottage is beautifully presented with everything you need for a holiday. We had our three boys with us and thankfully decided to leave the dogs behind as it was a little "cosy" in the evenings with all of us. My youngest son absolutely loved the window seat bed in the top room, he is still talking about it!
Only downside was having to park so far away particularly when we arrived back late in the evening.
I would thoroughly recommend and we will hopefully return one day.
Great location in Fowey. The cottage is so lovely, we were very tempted to stay in all week! Great linens, well stocked kitchen and a fabulous bath. Taking your book to the window seat in the bedroom is a lovely way to spend the afternoon.
Fowey is a lovely and lively medieval town, with narrow winding streets, pretty painted buildings, wonderful eateries, and lovely shops and galleries perched alongside one of England's most unspoilt estuaries in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The water speckled with sails, sandy beaches a pebble's throw and some stunning coastal walks on your doorstep, there's no better place to call your seaside holiday home.
A short stroll to sandy beaches, exhilarating walks along some of the loveliest heritage coastal paths, kayaking up river for a picnic in the spot that inspired Wind in the Willows, or some truly good food and lovely little shops. The Sea Swallow is the perfect base for exploring many of Cornwall's wonderful attractions or just tucking yourselves away for a cosy break with everything you need just a stroll away.
The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock and the breathtakingly beautiful Bodmin moor are nearby. It's easy to see why Daphne DuMaurier fell instantly in love with pretty Fowey and made it her home, it's deep harbour setting nestled into steep green hills rolling out to sea weave some special kind of magic on you.
