About Stan Hardwick

Having visited the island for many years, we knew we needed to find something more permanent, and were lucky enough to find this plot of land and have the villa built.

Stan Hardwick purchased this villa in 2004

Why Stan Hardwick chose La Oliva

Fuerteventura is loved as a Canarian destination by thousands of visitors, and the village of Tindaya is an ideal location to explore the island and all it has to offer, while the Vista Montaña provides homely comfort and privacy for those days by the pool.

What makes this villa unique

As the last property in the South West of the village of Tindaya, the Vista Montaña offers a tranquil location for guests to enjoy the uninterrupted views to the Atlantic Ocean, and excellent sunsets.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Lynne and Stan, loved the villa and Tindaya. Great holiday ... Needed

the heater in the evenings, but weather was actually pretty good. Ross has

some drone footage of the villa and the area and when he has edited it, I

will forward it on to you. The villa looks great from above. Best wishes.

Great Villa

  • 5 of 5

We arrived in the dark but the instructions from Stan and Lynne were spot on and we had no problem finding the Villa, if you arrive as we did in the dark you will need a torch to see the key safe. There is everything you could possibly need at the villa, including the pool, but you knew that anyway didnt you. We were blown away by the size of it, it was just my wife and I so lots of room but even if there are 6 of you still lots of room. When we woke up the next morning and looked out over the small wall to the views it was a superb vista across the plains to the mountains in the distance, we walked around the property to look at the garden which has lots of cactus asnd other plants which draw the birds in. There is a massive TV with sky and DVD player, an assortment of DVDs and games for young and old, we took our Amazon fire stick as there isnt any really English TV to watch except the BBC world news which is basically the world buisiness and stuff! I think you will definately need a car we used CICAR rental, we normally use a broker but found these on Google and they are a Canary Island business and have offices all over the Island in case anything goes wrong. You will need to bring a light jumper or cardigan for the chilly evenings and if you go out you will need to be prepared for wind as it really does blow at times, not cold as in the UK but especially if you go up the mountains. If I had a negative to say the villa could do with some trays to carry food or other things from the kitchen to the dinning areas either inside or out. Now thats not much of a negative is it :-) The bed we used was very comfy and supportive and with an ensuite with a very good shower. We obviously cant say about the other 4 beds as we didnt use them but they had a toilet and shower between them, there is also another toilet by the kitchen, so no one should get caught out short.

thank you Stan and Lynne and well done for a superb Villa

Owner's Response: Steve, Thanks for your very positive comments that were put so well - we're really pleased you enjoyed your stay. As you mentioned, we do have some English channels, around 30-40 from memory, and they aren't to everyone's taste, but many films and programs on the Spanish satellite system can be set to English Audio. However, we are aware that for some guests, having a wider range of TV channels, in their own language, can be important, so we are arranging at no additional cost to guests, a new TV package which will include over 2800 channels from several countries, with around 600 from the USA and UK - including all the main UK channels. With regard to the request for some tray's, this is a great piece of feedback, and we'll get a few at the earliest opportunity. Regards Stan & Lynne

Great Holiday Great Villa

  • 5 of 5

My Parents have visited Villa Montana for a number of years, so we thought we would have a go. We have had a fantastic weeks holiday, Villa is well presented and decorated to a high standard, Pool is heated and was lovely and warm, area is not overlooked and very private, we loved sitting on the patio watching the sun go down, We would recommend the property for those wanting a peaceful away from it all holiday. Thank you to the owners for our stay, we would love to come back.

We are a family of 5 and have just returned from this lovely Villa, it was just perfect lovely views not overlooked, the internal pictures do not do it justice. Supplied lovely towels and bedding lots of hot water which makes a change. We would recommend this villa to any one looking a touch of luxury. We could not fault this house the only negative was we had to leave. We would definitely come back. A big thank you to the owners

A nice property which is tastefully furnished.

  • 4 of 5

The villa is spacious, well decorated and tastefully furnished. It sits on the edge of a very quiet village and is ideal if you are looking for a get away from it all type holiday.

My wife and I stayed for a week during February which is probably the wettest and coldest month of the year on Fuerteventura. The weather during our stay was very mixed and this highlighted a couple of problems - the villa has no air conditioning or heating ( apart from a small oil filled portable radiatior which was completely ineffective ) so jumpers are a necessity at night when the house is cold. Having a shower is a race against time before the hot water runs out and then the next person has to wait until the next batch of hot water heats up. We also had a small problem with towels supplied - there was a set of two towels supplied which for two people sounds right, but when the weather is not good and you cannot dry your towels on the outdoor drying rail, you have no other means of drying them as there is no heating or tumble dryer. I think the problem would be much worse for a capacity of six people. This could be remedied simply by supplying some extra towels.

The private pool looked lovely but unfortunately we could not get any use from it due to the weather.

Overall, this is a very nice house which is quietly located, offering good facilities and a private pool set within a secluded sun terrace. Only a couple of small niggles stop me from giving it five stars.

Owner's Response: We would like to thank the guests for their kind words regarding the villa & pool - as with most owners, we take pride in our property and consequently we are disappointed that we failed to have gained that 5th star on this occasion. ‎With regard to the point raised by the guests: - It's very rare for properties on the island to have any form of heating installed for the few weeks each year where the temperatures drop. So we provide (and use ourselves) the oil filled radiators which we find are more than adequate. - Air Conditioning is an excellent idea, however the financial outlay is prohibitive, and the local power supply to the property would also require up-grading ‎(which are considerable costs which we would have to pass on). - As mentioned by the guest,‎ the cool weather at that time of year will have had an impact in drying clothes and towels, however had the guests contacted our agent, under the circumstances, we would have been happy to provided additional towels FOC. - The comment regarding the lack of hot water is of concern, as the 2 bathrooms have a dedicated ‎heater supplying 100 Litres of hot water (twice that recommended by the local architects). As this is the first time we have received such feedback, and having had such positive guest comments in the past, we will ensure the matter is checked and (if appropriate) made good.
