Home is very neat, clean, clutter free but still has all the essentials! Beautiful view and nice walkway to the dock. Convenient location and owners very easy to work with! Highly recommended!!
My siblings and I rented this cabin home for Memorial Day weekend and we had a wonderful time. The cabin was beautiful, very comfortable and felt like home! We fished off the dock and had fun roasting S'mores over the bonfire. The entire property was very well maintained. We can't wait to plan our next stay at this property!
We spent a girls weekend here and had an absolute blast! Everything was just how the pictures looked and it was in a quiet and relaxing area. Unfortunately it was still too cold too spend too much fun time outside but the dock was lovely and had a great area for yard games. Sherry was always super responsive and willing to answer any questions that I had :) Would definetly go back!!
The place is beautiful, and very comfortable for our size group.
We had a group of 8 ladies that do a weekend get away every year. Got lucky and had 65-70 degrees in March, so we were able to sit on the deck, by the frozen lake and have bonfires both nights. Town is only 3 miles away with several unique shops. Some do not open until May but we enjoyed it anyway.
Sherry, the owner was accommodating and nice to deal with.
It's a great place!!
A group of about ten guys decided to reunite to commemorate and celebrate past and upcoming life milestones.
After securing our wives' permission for such an excursion, we needed to secure the right place. Scattered from New Mexico to northern Minnesota and from western North Dakota to central Iowa, we needed a location that wasn't too far to drive in day (minus the guy who flew in from NM) but far enough out of the Cities so that the guys there could feel like they're getting away.
Other considerations for our group were enough activities to keep everyone from being bored, enough space to not feel cramped, room to spread out a couple big meals and - let's face it - not have to stand in line or take a number to use a bathroom.
Safe to say, we found the right place.
The spacious main floor with its fireplace and amazing view over the lake framed great conversations and discussions. The kitchen, bar and dining area worked very well for a big Italian dinner and fish fry we enjoyed and even the guys supping at the bar didn't have to feel excluded or separated from the guys at the table.
The basement was underutilized by our group, save for lodging purposes. We opted to maintain a bar on the kitchen counter top, and we still had plenty of counter space to cook and serve. There was also plenty of fridge and freezer space for all our food.
We had beautiful weather for January. A couple of us cleared an ice rink about 100 yards off shore to do some skating. Ice wasn't great for skating, but we had a solid 13" to work with.
We fished right on Clark, a couple hundred yards off the Island's NE shore in about 25 feet of water and found plenty of crappies and bluegills between 15-20 feet who liked rainbow minnows on glow-in-the-dark jigs. Between two days of fishing we caught over 60 fish, about 40-some of which were keepers and made a nice fish fry.
We had the lake to ourselves on Friday but come Friday evening and Saturday, pickup and snowmobile traffic increased as more ice houses made their way onto the lake. Besides that, it seems like a quiet lake (at least in the winter).
Between beds and couches, no one had to sleep on the floor and no one had to share a bed.
All in all, I'd highly recommend this house. If you're looking for some creature comforts and a quiet winter getaway without spending a ridiculous amount of money, this is it. Very comfortable, plenty of space and amenities, and a convenient, quiet, location.
We enjoyed a restful and relaxing weekend at the Auld's beautiful lake retreat this past weekend. Accomodations were wonderful! Large kitchen, plenty of beds, baths and beautiful views from the incredible 2 story windows looking out to the lake. Cozy fireplace and comfy furniture for all our movie watching needs. Nisswa is just minutes away for great shopping!
