Bachelor Fishing Get Away
This downstairs property was perfect for a solo fishing trip to the coast. I especially enjoyed the location and view. The access to nearby activities, while maintaining seclusion, was awesome. From start to finish, the booking process was breeze. If you're a sports TV junkie like me...there is only internet TV (Philo?). Other than that, I would highly recommend this property for a single traveler or couple. Finally, the property has waterfront access to Salt Lake (opposite side of Copano Bay). It's only about 4 ft. deep...but I caught lots of Redfish and Speckled Trout from the lighted peer out back. They even had a series of lights in the water to attract the fish at night. I got to know a very nice family who were staying in the main house upstairs, and we had a blast fishing and getting to know each other. Finally, the price was very competitive with lesser looking facilities / properties in the Rockport area. I look forward to returning in the fall.
We are thrilled you guys enjoyed your stay with us! Please look us up for your next Rockport vacation.
Miss Kitty's Fishing Getaway
Perfect Little Getaway!
This place is absolutely adorable. The updated decor is welcoming and not overwhelming. It's not a large place but they have selected the right furniture pieces to compliment and not overwhelm the space. You won't feel crowded here. The kitchen has all the appliances you would expect at home just a smaller version. It's perfect for 2 people. Close enough to the heart of Rockport but, far enough for you to know "I am on VACATION!" The view is amazing! We caught and kept catching many Reds in the morning and evening from the dock. In fact, we really didn't need to go elsewhere. Had the water not been so choppy we would have put our kayaks in too. They have a ramp which would make it easy to launch your kayak. I know my guy was ready to get in there and was I so we'll be back for that.
Good To Know: Although the kitchen has everything you need there are no condiments. Additionally, there is not an ice box so bring a cooler for items that require freezing. Also, as seen in photo this is not a full size fridge. They also participate in Project Feed so any non-perishable items you don't want to haul home you put in the bag and this will be redistributed. I love that!
The neighbor Jimmy is really friendly. He speaks extremely highly of the owner and talked about how he really cares about the accommodations and guests. Apparently the owner did a lot of renovations after Hurricane Harvey to make this a place for his family and guests to enjoy. If you stay, be good guests and neighbors. I know Jimmy would appreciate it and if you see him say "Hello."
I believe this is a new space the owner created so my only suggestions would be a curtain for the front door window (keep prying eyes from peaking in), an outside mat by the slider, some hooks on the bathroom door to hang towels and a luggage rack would be nice. (Not terribly necessary but, it avoids people placing luggage on furniture.) It would be nice to have some of the dry commonly used condiments in the kitchen. And finally a trash can to place the trash in at the end of the trip. It is awkward to leave a trash bag on the side of a home.
We love Rockport and the previous place we stayed was sold so this is likely going to be our new go-to. We didn't stay when the house was booked so unable to address potential noise issues.
I hope you consider this as the right place for you!
Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful birthday weekend!
