This apartment is housed within a seventeenth century palace in the possession of the same family for nearly 200 years, considered the ExLibris of Alfama. The palace consists of a set of noble houses also called the Palace of St. Stephen. It is located in the urban characteristics which is the medieval Alfama district in Lisbon.
Located within the historical district of Lisbon, within walking distance from the city center, access can be made by tram, metro, bus or on foot, since access by car is restricted. If arriving by car will have to leave the car outside this area, there are several car parks (Feira da Ladra, Portas do Sol, Santa Apolonia).
The apartment with about 100 m², newly refurbished and decorated with good taste and quality, quiet, wood floors, with a simple and warm decor. The large living room has a comfortable sofa and armchair and a dining table for 4 people. The kitchenette is well equipped for those who like to cook.
One bedroom has twin beds and the second bedroom a double bed. The bathroom is equipped with a good shower and a bathtub, a sink and a toilet. In the winter you can use the electric heaters. The apartment has a crib in the case of traveling with a baby with a cost of 20€, please if you want it prepared at your arrival please let us know at the time of the booking.
And at the end of the day, the quiet of your arrival home, rest on our terrace, the tranquility of our street.

The apartment is comfortably situated in the Alfama district of Lisbon and affords an opportunity to interact with inhabitants that is simply unavailable if you retreat to a high-rise hotel in downtown Lisbon. Fado music wafts through open windows nightly. Several superb restaurants (The Corkscrew) are readily available and are within walking distance. The public transit system is remarkably efficient and inexpensive. Virtually every corner of the metropolitan area is accessible.
The apartment itself is has modern appliances, and is well-maintained. The manager (Antonio) with his delightfully quirky sense of humor, is an enormous asset. The sole caveat is that steps to access the apartment would represent a formidable challenge for people with disabilities.
We would not hesitate to highly recommend this apartment to family and friends who desire an authentic Portuguese experience.
We had a great stay at this cozy yet spacious apartment in Lisbon. The apartment has wonderful historical touches and antique furnishings, and yet feels comfortably modern at the same time. There was a lot of natural light, and good breezes from the open windows.
The apartment is located in the Alfama neighborhood, which has narrow cobblestone streets, beautiful tiles, and lots of energy. We could hear the sounds of Fado music each night from the apartment, and there were lots of restaurants and cafes right nearby where we could listen to the Fado singers in person.
The owners were very good, friendly hosts, and made sure that we were comfortable and well taken care of.
The only negative was that a lot of construction was taking place in the neighborhood during our stay, so the apartment was a bit noisy during the day.
