Private Log Home on Acreage
We really enjoyed the property. Great location and loved the wildlife that came by to visit. Would definitely stay here again.
This property was set in a very peaceful area with spectacular views. The kitchen and baths were well stocked with any item you may need. They had an abundance of would chopped to use in the cozy fireplace ( which we were able to use due to the cold temps on our first 2 nights there)
There was a young buck that frequented the property and entertained us. On our last night we were able to watch 4 large bull elks!
Just for your information, not a complaint. If you are a light sleeper and you have people sleeping both down stairs and upstairs, be prepared for VERY squeaky floor boards. If someone upstairs would get up in the middle of night, Everyone downstairs knew it. Yes this is an old house and these things are expected, how loud this was really took us by surprise.
The property has a lot of charm. That being said, a few things could be better.
One thing was that there were large cob webs hanging from the ceiling and loft railings that were lit up most of the day due to them being in front of the large windows and were always noticeable. Speaking of windows, they were dirty. Some even had handprints on them. When the view of the mountains out the window is as fantastic as it is, the cleanliness of the window is pretty important.
The last issue we had is the poor function of the windows. Those big windows heated the house so ventilation was important. They did not operate correctly making it very difficult to open them very far before the bar would pop off and you would have to take the screen off and put it back in the track in order to close them. We ended up only opening them a couple of inches (and some not at all) This was not sufficient enough to cool the house off.
There were nice things about the house But for the price we expected the things mentioned above to be better.
