Excellent location and rental

Location is perfect for the city centre. We booked both apartments ground floor and top floor. We were very pleased with all the facilities and the rental was well maintained and clean. Local shopping and attractions was only 5 minutes walk away. Description on the listing was accurate and truthful.

We will pleased to use the rental a second time.

Location perfect for the City center, all rooms good size and very clean and well maintained. Lots of local attractions, restaurants and shops.

Local people very nice and helpful. Tube and shops only 5 minutes walk.

Owner's Response: We have a lovely large apartment and we usually have polite, friendly and tidy guests. Unfortunately, not this time. The guests were in the apartment were there for 4 nights only. Even though we do give an information pack with our email when you book, we were confronted with some questions in an abrupt manner when they arrived. e.g. how do you work the TV, how do you work the shower. We promptly wrote back saying press the button on the remote control, press the cord down to turn the shower, etc. The questions are quite reasonable but their tone and manner of communication was not pleasant and the normal courtesies (Please, Thank you, etc) were missing. On the 2nd or 3rd day, they proceeded to open the lids of the bins of our and our neighbours plastic bins outside the property. They took photos of the contents of the plastic bins. These photos consisted of rubbish nicely bagged in black bags lying in the plastic bins. They also too photos of the green recycling boxes. They sent these photos to us. We responded by firstly saying that they should not be trespassing on out neighbour's property and certainly should not being taking photos of their bins.We thought that this was quite unusual behaviour. We also commented that the photos were totally normal and failed to understand the point they were making. I assume that they expected the council to take the rubbish from the outside bins every day for them during their stay. I'm sorry to say that the London councils do not work that way. You take your rubbish from the apartment and put it in the dedicated plastic bins or recycling box outside the apartment. The council will then collect the rubbish from these dedicated plastic bins once a week. There is enough space in these outside plastic bins and so no rubbish is actually visible or lying on the floor. Tried to explain to guests but they were not very friendly. Ironically,, they left the apartment in a mess. Unfortunately, we will will not welcome these guests back again.

Gute Lage und ruhig

Die Wohnung befindet sich nur fünf Minuten entfernt von der U-Bahn-Station Colliers Wood an der Northern Line. Bis Kings Cross sind es ungefähr 40 Minuten Reisezeit, bin ins Zentrum zwischen 20 und 30 Minuten, je nach Ziel. Ideal auch die Nähe eines M&S Supermarktes in fünf Minuten Gehdistanz, und auf dem Weg zur U-Bahnstation befinden sich zwei weitere kleine Läden. Trotz dieser relativ zentralen Lage ist es in dieser Gegend sehr ruhig. Hinter dem Haus ist eine Baustelle, aber gebaut wurde da in der Zeit unserer Anwesenheit nichts, also kein Lärm.

Im Haus sind zwei Wohnungen, die kleinere in Erdgeschoss, die größere (die wir hatten) in ersten und zweiten Stock. Unsere Wohnung bestand aus einer Wohnküche und einem Esszimmer sowie einem Schlafzimmer (ein Doppelbett und ein Einzelbett) und einem Bad im unteren Stockwerk, und zwei Schlafzimmern (zwei und vier Einzelbetten) und einem Badezimmer im oberen Stockwerk. Schlafplätze also für bis zu neun Personen, das wäre aber angesichts der recht beengten Platzverhältnisse nicht ratsam - schon mit vier Personen war das Esszimmer gut besetzt, und die Badezimmer wären einem solchen Ansturm nicht gewachsen. Für 4-5 Personen ist die Wohnung aber gut geeignet.

Beim Türschloss ist Findigkeit gefordert, der Schlüssel passt nur dann ins Schloss, wenn der Zylinder mit der Schlüsselspitze so gedreht wird, dass die Schlüsselbarten nach oben zeigen. Das hat uns - noch dazu kurz nach Mitternacht - ziemlichen Schweiß gekostet.

Eine kleine Warnung: die Wohnung ist über eine sehr schmale, sehr steile und ausgetretene Treppe erreichbar. Reisegepäck da hinaufzuwuchten ist nicht sehr spaßig. Ansonsten war die Ausstattung eher spartanisch. Wir wissen nicht, ob der Schwund durch die Vormieter kam, aber wir fanden weder Spülschwamm noch Toilettenpapier vor - die vielleicht 20 Blatt, die noch da waren, mussten für die ganze Familie bis zum nächsten Tag vorhalten. Kein Spiegel im oberen Bad (es sah aber so aus, als sollte der demnächst ersetzt werden), und in beiden Bädern nur das Fensterbrett als Ablagefläche für Zahnbürste etc., und keine Haken zum Aufhängen der Handtücher. Vorsicht mit der oberen Dusche: die Tür schließt nicht richtig, was gleich am ersten Tag für eine Überschwemmung gesorgt hat. Die Putzlappen zur Beseitigung mussten wir auch erst beschaffen. Die Wohnung war ansonsten sauber und, von diesen kleinen Mängeln abgesehen, absolut empfehlenswert.
