Ty 'Malo, "La Cabane" Golden Triangle St Malo-Dinan-Dinard, near Mt St Michel.

Bedrooms 1
Space 645 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

Comfortable, small cottage for 2, equipped as a large, heated pool, Wi-Fi

800m from the Rance, and 3km from the first beach, enjoy our "Shack Philemon and Baucis", sheltered from the park of our real home Terre-neuva.

Haven of peace conducive to relaxation (a heated pool and a pleasure garden are reserved for you) and beautiful encounters (among others, Josephine, our seal nearby ...), our cottage is ideally located to discover one of the most beautiful regions of Brittany, between Mt St Michel and Cap Fréhel.

Whether it is the maritime walks (from the Emerald Coast 20 kms, Mont Saint Michel 50 kms, or along the banks of Rance 800 m), or cultural discoveries (Dinan, Saint-Malo, Dinard, Cancale, but also Combourg, Bécherel or Rennes), the outings are innumerable in the "golden triangle" at the limits of Ille et Vilaine and Côtes d'Armor, between Mt St Michel and Cape Fréhel.

Sheltered by our large garden, our cabin offers a room with a double bed comfort (140 x 190), a bathroom (shower toilet), a dining room / kitchenette and a TV lounge / WI -Fi in mezzanine.

2 covered terraces and discovery complete the Cabane and allow you to take meals in various atmospheres and to grill in the shelter.

Wi-Fi and pool access, free.

We also have a music room with a piano and a sound system.

For those who wish, we organize "a shared table":

each guest, either in bed and breakfast, or in our cottage, brings to drink and eat, to share around the table, in a simple and relaxed atmosphere.

"The shared table" is ideal for those who like to meet new people and enjoy conviviality.

Of course, gastronomy is also in the spotlight in our beautiful region.

You will find all the seafood at our excellent fishmonger at the end of the street.

He can prepare you, on order, magnificent plates of seafood so tasty!

Come to Brittany!

In all weathers our golden triangle is beautiful and the activities very varied !!!

And we are always at your disposal to help you in the preparation of your excursions. Many guides will be lent to you if need be, do not hesitate to ask us.

Visit of the most beautiful village of books of France, the castle of René de Chateaubriand or discovery of

the forest of Brocéliande and Breton legends, you never get bored.

See you on youtube if you want to have fun with Josephine:

Mrs seal (L9 of its official name) has been home for fifteen years at the Mordreuc hold, 3km from our house.

Some of our guests have uploaded beautiful images, to discover absolutely!

My knowledge of the land will also allow me to entrust you with the locations of the most beautiful beaches of the coast, from the wildest to the busiest, according to the tastes of each ... and small tricks to access the busy days. ..

Rest assured that I will always do my best to answer your questions and meet your expectations.

My dearest wish is that you spend an unforgettable holiday in our little hut, in the shade of Philémon and Baucis ...

Owner's Response: Merci pour votre message. Je suis vraiment désolée pour la piscine, nous sommes totalement tributaires des piscinistes qui sont débordés après les saints de glace... Au plaisir de vous revoir pour que vous puissiez profiter du bassin... Anne

Typical of the banks of Rance, our property, cradle of a family of Newfoundlanders in the last century, embarks you for the great marine history of the golden triangle St Malo-Dinard-Dinan.

At home, you relive the great moments of cod fishing, dreaming of privateers and departures for the Route du Rhum (predict the race of 2018) or arrivals of deckchairs Quebec-Saint-Malo (next in 2020) ... maritime atmosphere assured ...

800 m from "La Cabane", the Rance offers its most beautiful meanders and the last squat huts in the region ... Another fishing story ...

From your "Hut" a coastal walk of 3 kms will take you to Mordreuc, the first beach on the Rance maritime and holds famous for its seal lady, Joséphine, who has been living there for more than 15 years!

Opportunity to drink or eat at the only inn of the place (inventive cuisine with quality products).

In summer, musical evenings are given on the outdoor terrace: spectacular sunset at the sea ...

The port of Lyvet and its lock are less than one kilometer from your "hut" and not far from the bay of St Malo, by the Rance.

Possibility to rent boats and kayaks, and cruise ship reservations.

It is at the Châtelier lock (demarcation of the Rance Maritime and Rance fluvial) that we taste the best fish and chips in the region, in a very British atmosphere!

From the port, along the Rance fluvial, the old towpath leads you to Dinan, on foot or by bike.

A bucolic walk accompanied by a multitude of birds to recognize the House of Rance, nearby.

The port of Dinan, a small fortified town on the heights of the Rance, is 6kms from "La Cabane".

Artisans and numerous artists (painters, sculptors, glassmakers or ceramists) animate strolls in this beautiful medieval setting Dinan, classified city of art and history.

The castle of the Duchess Anne, the clock tower, the Convent of the Cordeliers, the Basilica St Savior (which houses the cenotaph of the heart of Constable Bertrand du Guesclin) are just a few examples of the countless treasures to discover.

Absolutely essential: the street of Jerzual, its half-timbered houses and stalls, which connects the port to the city center, with a drop of 75 meters reaching in some places 35% of declivity. This coast hosts every year the challenge of Jerzual, running followed by thousands of spectators.

From the port to the city center, there is something to eat, I will give you our best addresses, trust me ...

A 23 kms, is the visit of St Malo, famous fortified corsair city (Duguay-Trouin and Surcouf have earned its reputation) and must-see shopping center since the seventeenth century.

History buffs will visit the mansion of a family of shipowners, the Jacques Cartier Museum intramural, or the tomb of Chateaubriand on the islet of Grand-bé.

And since the Sillon, walkers can admire the bay of Saint-Malo where the tides are among the most important in Europe!

Not to be missed: the visit of the dam of the Rance tidal power plant that we crossed to reach Dinard.

Pearl of the Emerald Coast, Dinard is a seaside resort famous for its Belle Epoque villas and the British Film Festival, held every year since the 1990s.

The old fishermen's district of St-Enogat also offers you beautiful discoveries.

If you continue the coast to Cape Fréhel, you will enjoy a wild spectacle breathtaking.

To the east, it is the oyster port of Cancale (gastronomic stopping point) that will seduce you.

From "La Cabane", you can also travel "romantic Brittany", discover the forest of Brocéliande and legends of La Table Ronde, the fortress of Combourg (family cradle of René de Chateaubriand), or Bécherel, old rock-strong military became the city of the book. Art lovers and collectors will find treasures at bookstores and second-hand booksellers, but also bookbinders, calligraphers and illustrators.

Rennes, the largest city in the Brittany region is only 45 minutes from La Vicomté / Rance, by the expressway.

Labeled city of art and history, Rennes has retained an important medieval heritage (beautiful half-timbered houses) and classic (many mansions, palaces of the Parliament of Brittany, etc ...) within its historic center .

More than eighty buildings are classified as historical monuments.

In our Normandy neighbors, 50mn from the Vicomté / Rance, plan a crossing of the bay (unforgettable experience!) and deserve "The Wonder" of Mt St Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Also, do not worry, if the sky is not blue enough for the beach, you will have so much to see that your stay will always be too short!
