Modern Ground Floor Holiday Apartment

Ideally located 17 Britten Close, Aldeburgh is a self catering accommodation closely situated to the town centre with its array of shops and restaurants and don't forget the famous chip shops!

As well as being in walking distance from beach linking Aldeburgh to Thorpeness.

The apartment has a spacious lounge including dining area, TV, DVD player and a comfortable sofa bed.

A well equipped kitchen with washing machine, microwave and all you need for a self catering holiday.

A double bedroom (linen including) with on-suite bathroom with shower/bath (towels included).

There are storage heaters through out.

A communal garden and ample private parking.

Pets allowed at owners discretion.

A lovely apartment with nearly everything you could need

A fantastic little apartment, close to the beach and town centre. Apon arrival we found the apartment to be clean and homely.

The only fault I could find and it's only minor, is kitchen scissors would be an advantage and wifi would be great.

clean and orderly

Best features: Parking, and the very comfortable bed, plus the convenience of being near

the shops and the sea front.

There was enough equipment should I have wanted to cook.

As a blue badge holder and senior citizen, I would not come again because I could not use the shower (need a walk-in, how ever small).

I found the seating too low (but luckily, cushions helped), and the table was so heavy that I could not move it out to sit on a dining chair (also very heavy!).

I would have appreciated a garden chair to be able to sit out at the front of the flat

Overall we enjoyed our stay, despite getting off to a poor start,as detailed below :

Bath towel problem on arrival:

1. only one towel left out........2 adults require two bath towels and two hand towels !

2. the bath towel that was left out(neatly folded in the bathroom) was soaking wet !! It had either just been used, or had just come out of the washing machine!!

3.The bath mat was also soaking wet and unusable for standing on.

We phoned Kim and helped our selves to a couple of dry small towels from the airing cupboard.

A lady called round that evening to check on the problem.She was most apologetic and agreed to drop bath towels round the next morning,which she did.

She took the soaking wet towel away.

She was at a loss to know what had gone wrong.

Comfortable apartment in good location

The property was clean, comfortable and well maintained with everything necessary for our stay. It is in a very good location with Tesco and Co-op stores just around the corner as well as a pub where we got a friendly welcome. The beach is just a few minutes walk and the town centre is about ten minutes walk away. We found it an ideal location for getting out and about as there are a variety of interesting places to visit within a short drive. I would recommend the famous fish and chip shop in town which lived up to it's reputation. The village of Thorpeness is well worth a visit, also Dunwich Heath if you like walking.

We did have a slight hiccup with the owner Terry before arriving as we didn't know the key code but he was apologetic and it was soon sorted. The only downside to this ground floor apartment is the fact that one evening the people above decided to spend a couple of hours doing DIY with banging and hammering going on. We'd come back from a day out and it would have been nice to have some peace and quiet but that wasn't the case and I think this is something that anyone booking should be aware of and this is why I have only given 4 stars.

Overall we felt it was good value and would recommend to family and friends.

Practical, clean, well equipped, great location.

On arrival we looked in vain for an entrance keypad, only to discover after a few frantic minutes that the door led to a small porch with the keypad inside. On entry we found the apartment was clean, warm and well laid out.

We did hear the heavy footed upstairs tenant on several occasions, but that is to be expected from a ground floor apartment. After a late evening out, we arrived back at just after midnight to discover the street lights dimmed and it was very difficult to see the entrance steps and door. If we had known this we would have left the porch light on.

The owners provided good customer service and there was plenty of local information about attractions and various contacts.

We would recommend this property, the location is extremely handy to the town and beach and near the nature reserve. It is only a few minutes drive to the famous Snape Maltings, home to Aldeburgh Music, and close to Thorpeness.

We hope to visit again.
