Ca na Maria is in the lovely valley of Cala Santanyi, with its deep white sand beach 25 metres from the front door, it is an ideal location for a family holiday. There are tennis courts & pedalos for hire, a scuba diving & windsurfing school & diving platform in the bay. The villa has 1 double & 5 twin bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (2 ensuite) & a shower room. The lounge/dining room has airconditioning & French doors opening to a terrace with 2 teak sun loungers & 10 seater table. The kitchen is well equipped with ceramic hob, fan oven, microwave, 12 place dishwasher & large fridge/ freezer. Other amenities include CD/radio, Ipod dock, satellite TV, DVD, washing machine & fans in all rooms. The villa is set within its walled garden, planted with scented climbers, lawn and herb bed, with parking for a car in front of the garage & large barbecue. There are several restaurants & 2 shops selling food & many other items, all within walking distance. Santanyi (3km) has excellent shopping facilities.
Facilities: The kitchen is extremely well equipped with ceramic hob, large fridge/ freezer, 12 place setting dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, stainless steel pans, ice cream maker, juicer, coffee makers etc. The double bed is super king size and the twin beds can be pushed together to make doubles. All rooms have air cooling fans and there is a ceiling fan in the kitchen. There are powerful showers in all bathrooms. The dining table inside seats 6 and is extendable to seat 12 but there is another 10 seater teak table through the French doors on the terrace, also 2 sun loungers. Although we do not exclude smoking, we would prefer for the comfort of all guests that smoking is restricted to the terraces, balconies and outside. Although the lovely beach is just outside the front door, there is a pool in the apartments above the villa which we have used if purchasing some drinks! There is a family run restaurant by the beach, open from approx 10-6pm where English, German and Spanish is spoken by the owner and probably other languages too!.
I live in Holland Park, London with 1 of my 4 children. My work for 47 years has been as a professional chef, but 11 years ago I also started work as a supporting artiste (extra) in films and TV. In those years I have been lucky enough to work on and be seen in:- Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Skyfall, Warhorse, The Dark Knight Rises, Robin Hood, The Kings Speech, Quartet, Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey, Little Dorrit, New Tricks and 24 Live Another Day amongst many other productions.
Caroline Garnell purchased this villa in 1959
My parents took us to Mallorca for a family holiday in the 1950's. Each day we would drive to Cala Santanyi to swim as we were staying in Cala Figuera where there is no beach. My father saw a house being built right next to the beach and found out the person who was building it was the brother in law of the owner of the villa we were renting.. He offered to buy it and Ca na Maria has been our family home ever since!
The uniqueness of this family friendly home is its proximity to the lovely beach. In Cala Santanyi it is the only house at sea level and the beach starts no more than 50 metres from the front gate. The beach is extremely well kept and is consistently awarded the EEC blue flag for cleanliness.
Mrs Pugsley ' We had a wonderful holiday and the villa was excellent, the village is lovely and after a visit to the centre of Cala D'Or we all agreed we were glad we had stayed in a more authentic part of Majorca.
We have recommended you on to a few friends who will be contacting you shortly hopefully and I know my parents are interested as well.'
We had a great time last week.Rented cars, but didn't use them. Stayed at the villa & Cala Santanyi all week.
Had great fun snorkling. Even managed a barbeque one night. Suited our needs ideally - many thanks Mike Procter
Our family of nine included two juniors and two teenagers and two grandparents and we were all comfortably accommodated.
The added attraction of being right on the beach was a bonus for everyone.
As we went in half-term week at the end of October not all of the local amenities were open but the weather was great.
We found that a suitable sized vehicle was essential although we only visited the city twice. Bicycles are also available for a resaonable daily rate.
It also helps that the villa is owned by an English lady!
We were celebrating my mother's 70 years old birthday and were staying 2 families in the house. The rooms were perfect located both up and downstairs and everybody had a nice room to sleep in.
We so much enjoyed the lovely terrace, where we sat both during the day, because of the lovely breeze and also in the night where there was a perfect temperature. Also we had a nice view on the beach life.
It took less the 2 minutes to go to the beach, and we have had so many lovely swims both from the beach, but also jumps from the cliffs, which the children enjoyed so much. The water temperature was perfect and we did a lot of snorkeling.
At the beach there was some lovely beach cafes and restaurants where we experienced a wonderful atmosphere. The location of Ca Na Maria was perfect with so many different options that covered all our needs.
We will certanly recommend Ca Na Maria as a lovely place to enjoy your holiday!
We stayed here in August 2012 - 5 children, 2 parents and 2 grandparents. We had a lovely stay and have no complaints. The accommodation was as described and the beach close. We had two cars but used them only occassionally as most of the time was spent at the beach and in the house. Variety of beach toys available PS: as we were told in the notes, use bottled water even for the kettle as otherwise you will end up with some interesting tasting tea (salty).
Our 2 weeks holiday with family (6 adults + 5 kids + 1 baby) was on June 2012, all villa description is good. Villa has very large terrace, till the beginning of the sand beach is just 15-25 meters, till water about 100-150 meters. On the beach you can rent water bike, the beach have lifeguard personal. The owner provided detail overview about the nearest places of interest and detail description about the road till villa. We found the villa at night time without the GPS navigation. You can look around the villa in google maps: Cala Santanyí, 07659 Santanyí, Spain.
Home keeper Peter is very helpful if you need something. In the villa Ca na Maria we found everything what we need for our vacation (kitchen equipment, grill, place for parking 3 cars, terrace in a shadow, air condition inside, a lot of games, CD player, DVD player with USB connection, big collection of books and etc.). Very recommended for family holliday in reasonable price.

This was a great holiday for our famiy and we thuroughly ejoyed our stay at ca na maria.
We had a weeks holiday, as a family of four ( 2 adults and 2 girls thinking they are teenegers already!)
Without having to hire a car we found it easy enough with a local spar shop less then a ten minute walk away to supply our needs. The resteraunts were close at hand and met our requitements. The beach felt like it was on the doorstep and was brilliant to spend time on during our stay, the sea was crystal clear!
In the house there was everything we needed, very well kept and to a perfect standard. It was also nice to be able to watch english TV too!
we highly reccomend this villa as a family holiday residence.
We have just returned from a seven night stay at Ca Na Maria. There were 11 of us in all, 9 adults and 2 children. We were very impressed with the location, you literally cross the road outside the villa and you are on the beach. Across the road from the villa is a car park which can be very busy on a hot day when the beach starts to fill up but in the evening the area is very quiet and peaceful.
The villa was generally comfortable, clean and well equipped. The air conditioning was very useful. We had two young children with us and very much appreciated the safety gate at the top of the stairs (since the living accommodation is upstairs).
The beds in the garden room were very soft so we chose not to use that room. Our bed (the King size) was very comfortable. The rest of the beds also appeared to be good.
Overall I would return to this villa, but probably with a maximum of ten occupants. If you visit the area, I would recommend eating at the Restauran C'an Bennassar in Santanyi's town square. It's right next to the town hall. A great location, friendly staff and the food was reasonable and superb.
Cala Santanyi is situated only 3km from Santanyi, a lovely traditional town with few modern buildings, founded in 1300 AD. Markets are held in the main square every Saturday & Wednesday mornings selling fruit, vegetables, organic produce like preserves, local cheeses, olives, a fish market, flowers, clothing, jewellery, handbags, shawls etc. There are several banks, bakers/patisseries, post office, 24hr clinic, designer clothing shops & 4 supermarkets, all of these have specialist counters. This part of the island is known for its beautiful beaches, as well as Cala Santanyi are Es Trenc, 5kms long, Cala Llombards, S’Amarador (voted best beach in Europe last year & its close neighbourwhich is within close walking distance, Cala Mondrago. There is also an 18 hole golf course called Vall D’or, which is 17.5 kilometres North of Cala Santanyi, all of these are about 15 minutes drive. Cala Figuera, the next inlet is a very pretty fishing port, known as ‘the Venice of Mallorca’. There are over 200 caves on the island, many of which are spectacular and can be toured. Palma 55kms, is a beautiful city, with excellent shops, a castle, a magnificent cathedral and many other attractions. Manacor is known for its cultured pearls, Inca for its leather goods, the West coast for its wonderful mountainous scenery and the interior for its vineyards and excellent farming produce.
