Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Anne & Tom,

A very belated note to thank you both very much indeed for our stay at Penmere. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and we are very envious of your lovely house. The weather could have been a little kinder in the early part of the week but we still enjoyed it - principally because it's Cornwall.

I hope that the house was left as you expected.

Thank you again from us all. We would like to return.

Kind regards.

Fantastic holiday house - all 6 of us want to book again soon!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a delightful Easter break at Penmere despite the rainy forecast we had some beautiful sunny weather in between the rainy days. Falmouth had so much to offer our group, we dined out in some great places Hooked on the Beach at Swanpool, Pandora Inn just up the road and Lemon Arms in Mylor village. We walked along the creek to Mylor Harbour for our delicious breakfasts overlooking the spectacular harbour. We loved the beach and Falmouth Maritime Museum entertained us all. The local village had more than we needed with a great local pub within walking distance, very friendly well stocked general stores, even a nail salon!

Penmere was perfect for our group, very clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for us to spread out. We loved the view over the creek from our bedroom window especially as we were treated to a lie in whilst Grandad took the children to the local play area and early morning crabbing at the harbour. The kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed some great family meals around the long dining table before retiring to the beautiful conservatory, sadly not yet the weather to eat outside! The owners were extremely helpful and left a thoughtful welcome pack including wine and Easter eggs for the children A beautiful home that we would thoroughly recommend and hope to return to again - we loved Cornwall and are really looking forward to exploring more of the spectacular coastline.

Lovely family style house

  • 5 of 5

We were a mixed group with age ranges from 1 year to 80 and the house is an ideal family home to relax in. The gardens are lovely and secure so even the dog had a great time. The beds are comfortable with good linens the kitchen has all the essentials and more and the location is fabulous. Everything was very easy which is just what we wanted for our traditional family vacation. The bonus was a lovely sun room/conservatory which was always warm even on less than sunny days.

Spacious, beautiful home, well located for north and south coasts of Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

Walks along coast to Mylor Harbour, Restronguet, Rosemullion Head and Holywell, visits to Trebach Gardens, Pendennis Castle, Newquay, Trelissock and Trerice, eating at the Lemon Arms, Pandora's Inn, Castaways and BBQs. A great week despite largely indifferent weather.

Penmere House, Mylor Bridge lovely location. Superb village shop and friendly pub the Lemon Inn, with good food. We loved the house, comfortable and so much space. Time spent barbecueing in the garden was great. The grandchildren loved having a small playroom, plus adults enjoyed the pool table in the basement.

Anne the owner could'nt have been more helpful before and particularly during our stay when one of our party ended up in hospital.

Would recommend Penmere as great getaway. Local area lovely, we hired a boat from Mylor Harbour brilliant day on the sea.

Grandchildren loved crabbing at the Pandora Inn, but enjoyed the rabbits in the Lemon Inn garden to.

The weather was fantastic to. Overall a great week.

Booked for a family break over Easter, when the weather can be a little unpredictable, but the house is perfect for any weather. Sit outside when the sun is shining, and in the conservatory when it isn't. Plenty of room for us all to spread out so we're not on top of each other. Bathrooms and bedrooms all to a luxurious 5 star standard and a lovely warm AGA to come home to. Couldn't fault the location either - Mylor Bridge is well-located for many gardens, water sports and walks. Thanks for a lovely holiday - we'll certainly be back.
