Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Santa Fe - Casa las Artes

House, 5 Bedrooms, 5.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Casa Las Artes, located in Tesuque, New Mexico, is a single family residence occupying approximately 6,000 square feet in a private gated compound. This exceptional home includes a main house with four bedrooms that sleeps eight and a casita with an additional bedroom that sleeps two more. The casita rents for $100 more a night with an additional cleaning fee of $100. Located in Tesuque Village, just minutes from downtown Santa Fe, this private destination rests under 200 year old cottonwood trees. It has been recently renovated with all new furnishings, appliances, and art in an elegant southwestern style.

Casa Las Artes consists of four bedrooms in the main house and one in the casita, sleeping eight comfortably. In the main house, the master bedroom has a king bed; the second master suite has a king bed as well, and one of the other bedrooms has a queen bed. The remaining bedroom in the main house features twin beds that can be made into a king bed and the bedroom in the casita feature twin beds. The spacious master suite consists of a sitting area with fireplace, a large walk in closet, a large bathroom with two vanities, bathtub and separate shower, plus a terrace overlooking the landscaped grounds.

There are five and one-half elegant bathrooms; one for each bedroom in addition to a powder room off the entryway. Hair dryers and laundered bathrobes are provided for your use. There are two complete kitchens in the main house as well as a kitchen in the casita which is superb for entertaining. This allows for great flexibility of use by friends and family. There are outdoor entertaining areas, including one with a new stainless steel grill. There is a security gate with keypad entrance, and also a security system including fire alarm in both the main house and the casita. The house and casita contain five fireplaces including one newly-constructed on the outside patio of the main house for those chilly nights.

Casa las Artes consists of a main house with two master suites and two additional bedrooms, all of which have their own private baths. They are furnished with the most exquisite bedding and towels from Ralph Lauren and Peacock Alley. The kitchen was recently renovated to include all new Jen-Air appliances, a wine cooler, Calphalon cookware, Cuisinart small appliances and Vietri pottery. Throughout the house there is new carpeting, flatware, china and glassware. The casita has an additional bedroom, kitchen and separate washer and dryer. The furnishings truly reflect a Southwestern home with artwork by Native American artist Nocona Burgess, as well as pieces by Henri Matisse, David Rothermel, Anthony Chee Emerson, and Willard Clark. One will also find folk art from great Mexican masters, including Irma Blanco and Neftali Ayungua Suarez. The house is furnished with Peruvian folk art, fabrics and pottery, baskets from Indonesia and Venezuela, Mata Ortiz pottery from Mexico, black pottery from Oaxaca, Hopi Kachina, Navajo rugs and baskets, antique Mexican furniture, Native American pottery and Tibetan rugs.

Throughout the house and casita are Sony high definition televisions, LG DVD players and high speed wireless internet. The main house includes two sets of washers and dryers, two separate kitchens, four fireplaces, one balcony off the master bedroom, and five patios or portals for relaxation. An outdoor fireplace with seating and dining areas surrounded by large cottonwood trees, fruit trees, Russian sage, lavender and wildflowers has been newly-constructed. The house is truly a reflection of Southwest America!

Santa Fe and Tesuque offers shopping, restaurants, live theater, museums, art galleries, opera, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, bicycling, fishing, rafting, kayaking and touring of nearby Native American Pueblos and ancient ruins. Taos, Albuquerque and other historical sites are also nearby.

A magnificent home!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented several wonderful VRBO homes and we were members of a destination club for four years so we have stayed in many beautiful properties. This is one of the finest and I would highly recomment it. Everything about the home is exceptional. We were a group of four women so we only rented the main house. We loved the fact that everyone had her own bedroom and bath and the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped. I wish my kitchen drawers looked like that! The management company, Casas de Santa Fe, does a great job of maintaining the property and preparing it for new guests. The furnishings and artwork were amazing and it made us feel like we were staying in someone's beautiful personal home. The outdoor patio areas were also exceptional and the home and the casita are on almost an acre of land.

We love the Tesuque area and we chose this home partially because it was within walking distance of the Tesuque Village Market, a funky, unique wonderful place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, pastries and some great little gifts. The home is also close to the Tesuque Glassworks (a must as far as we're concerned) and the Shidoni Foundry.

I have sung the praises of this home so much to our friends that I just home we will be able to get in when we return to Santa Fe!

Amazing property - great for our mini reunion of 10!

  • 5 of 5

Overall we were just totally impressed and very pleased with the property! The pictures just do not do it justice – it looked great online - but it is really stunning to see it in person. The furnishings and décor (in the main house especially) are really top notch – very warm and comfortable and easy to live in. The kitchen(s) were all very well stocked with really nice dishes, cutlery, knives, serve ware, cooking utensils and pots and pans... and plenty of wine glasses of all shapes and sizes. The amenities were top notch and we loved having a private bathroom for every bedroom!

We were a group of 10 and this property really was a great fit for us: My husband and I stayed in the Guest House, my sister and her family (2 adults and 4 older kids) plus my parents stayed in the Main House. It was great to have a master suite downstairs for my parents... they were just "wowed" with the luxury...and had enough distance from everything and everyone if and when they needed it. We all had plenty of room and being a mom of 4, my sister was ecstatic about laundry rooms upstairs and downstairs!

The layout of the house & guest house really lends itself to a variety of activities, keeping people separate to do their own thing, yet easily connected thru a doorway or short walkway. The location is really great - driving into Santa Fe was a snap, yet it felt very rural and secluded. We took advantage of having a wood fire going most nights which made our little getaway feel like we were at our own private ski lodge. Very relaxing!

Both the owner and the management company were incredibly nice and easy to work with - I would highly recommend both for anyone traveling to Santa Fe or surrounding area.

We would love to stay here again in the future!

Great Santa Fe house for a vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a great two week stay at this gorgeous house in Santa Fe. The layout was perfect for all of our family, and especially good for the entertaining that we did, and inviting friends over for meals.

The location was great for us, and easy to get to the arts of Santa Fe, both in the city and for opera. The Santa Fe Opera is minutes away.

We enjoyed the personalization of the decor, it really felt like a private home, with beautiful art and decorations. Each room feels like it has a personality, from the bedrooms to the main areas.

Having a separate casita was also great for us.

We will plan on coming again, and can enthusiastically recommend this beautiful property.

This once was a wonderful property, very much in need of deffered maintenance

  • 1 of 5

We rented this home for our family reunion, including the Casita. It was once a wonderful home/property but needs to have many deferred maintenance items completed. Upon our arrival all electrical outlets, lights, closet lights in upper master bedroom not working, we called to have someone come out and fix, no one ever showed. The second morning we woke up to no water in the main house and also the Casita. We called the after hours emergency number (9 people unable to use the toilets) after the second phone call we finally received a call back, they said someone would be there about 9:00 A.M. My brother who is a contractor crawled down the ladder and into the well, and was able to get the water back on just as the well contractor showed up. This happened again during our stay, no water in the morning. Missing basic kitchen tools, not (1) spatula in the kitchen, or a knife that would cut a tomato. So on our daily shopping trips we purchased a spatula and a knife that will cut up vegetables. We had lots of live/dead bugs in the showers, on the sheets, towels provided in the main house and especially the Casita. We have rented many homes through VRBO for family get togethers and again this home could be wonderful, it just needs lots of TLC, maintenance and clean-up.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your comments. We are sorry that you experienced some issues with the property on your stay. You must know that we take great pride in the property and do keep it very well-maintained. Just to let you know, we recently sent out our maintenance team from Kansas City and spent $4500 on the house to make sure that everything was working properly including all lights, doors and locks, electrical outlets and did extensive touch -up painting and exterior work. We had just had the well serviced in late April and spent $800 to replace the pump switch. As far as the not having the closet light and electrical outlet working in the upstairs master, sometimes overloading the circuits with hairdryers can cause the problem. Our maintenance man went to check and you told him not to worry about it according to our manager. The well was working properly since it had just been serviced. If everyone takes showers at one time, the well can get drained and needs time to fill. Our future renters will be notified of this. Our contractor was called at 6am and went out at 9am. We understand that you said that it was fixed and tried to send him away. He did stay, however, and blew out the air from the system to make sure it was working for you. I am puzzled that you found no spatula nor knives. We have three kitchens on the property and I know that there are very ample utensils. Sorry if someone might have moved items to one of the other drawers. Sorry you had issues with some bugs. Remember we are outside the city in a high desert climate. We do get bugs. We clean thoroughly after each rental and then go back to freshen before each new rental. Our manager/agent Casas de Santa Fe then has someone in quality control inspect each house to make sure it is up to both our and their rigorous standards. We may have had some bugs come in after that inspection, but if that was an issue our housekeeper would have gladly come out to correct the problem. Though you found us on VRBO we actively work with the best manager and housekeeper in Santa Fe. I would have preferred to have had you work with them and our well contractor while you were there rather to have heard it after the fact.

Great Thanksgiving Week with Family

  • 5 of 5

Spent the week of Thanksgiving in Santa Fe and rented the house based on the recommendations of the owner of Weybridge Collection and rented through Casa de Santa Fe. We have stayed in other Weybridge collection properties and overall I have to say they are second to none having rented houses and villas now on 5 continents over the last 12 years or so. We had a wonderful time and the house is perfect for groups of all sizes. Well equipped with everything on needs to host such an event plus wonderful areas for entertaining both inside and out. Being soTesuque Market is a plus and literally minutes from the Plaza, Sante Fe Opera and Indian Market. We will be going back and are counting down the days.

The online images look exactly like the house and the descriptions actually don't do the house justice in my opinion. The property and house were very well maintained with lots of flatware, cooking items, linens, towels, extra blankets, incredibly comfortable beds and magnificent fireplaces. THis house will work well for everyone including a couple looking to just rent the casita or a family of 4 who need some extra space. We maximized every bedroom and had a total of 12 people and we never had an issue with space or parking or noise.

Private and Perfect for our Girl's Trip !

  • 5 of 5

We loved the comfy beds, easy drive to town and how private this place felt. With a fire in the living room fireplace it was a wonderful gathering place for hours of conversation. Super kitchen to have many chefs working at once (we enjoyed a Trader Joe's appetizer night--ok, not exactly "cooking"). Next time we hope to utilize the outdoor fireplace--it looks so inviting. A easy walk to Tesuque Village Market for terrific meals is a HUGE plus. Can't wait to come back!
