About Talia Walton
As you can tell from our many island and large high end beach houses we have been in Belize many years now and focus on providing true 5 star island and beach properties. This property is our personal get away and is truly an amazing natural beauty that exemplifies the other side of Belize away from the ocean.
Talia Walton purchased this House in 2018
Why Talia Walton chose Cayo
After 10 years of searching for the perfect jungle mountain property to complement our other beach homes and private island it was obvious from the first time I stepped on the Valley Stream property it had that amazing WOW factor and beauty.
What makes this House unique
This is a great opportunity to go enjoy this 200 acre Oasis and experience the other amazing part of Belize off the beachfront.

Natural, serenity, but noisy
We enjoyed our stay. The house is as described, large, good kitchen, and A/C. The farm is big, beautiful. The stream is full of color. Unfortunately, we stayed when the oranges had already been picked. We enjoyed orange juice, but not ripe oranges. Next time we will check to be sure it is in season. The road was noisy with big trucks. Apparently bad timing again. It's not always this noisy, so be careful to check first. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful spot but...
We stayed in Valley Stream Ranch for two weeks in early April. It is a beautiful spot with many flowers, birds and river. The caretaker family (especially Irma) is wonderful and the house is comfortable with a great screened in porch. It was fun to explore the ranch with the ATV and go the one nice river hole we found, although it is quite small and under a construction site, so there will soon be another house there.
But unfortunately it is a very noisy setting with its proximity to the highway and trucks going down the hill with engine brakes day and night. We are told that there were more trucks than usual because of harvest time but nonetheless we noticed tankers, trucks carrying construction wood etc.
The house’s surroundings are also not really private with workers going by the house and over the covered bridge several times a day.
Another irritant was that on the first week we had 2 short periods with wifi. Although that was fixed on the second week, our request for some sort of refund remained without an answer. It turns out that Talia is only a manager and has no power as she said. Although she copied our emails to the owners these didn’t care enough to respond to our request.
If the other reviews don't win you over, I hope this one does. This place can't be beat for price, location, and privacy. This location is right off the highway, so access is extremely convenient. The local sites are for touring are also very close by (Try Blue Hole National Park and Angel Falls Hiking/ Ziplining.). You can also visit St. Herman's cave from here, which is just minutes away. My family of four and I had plenty of room and no one gave us any trouble. The caretakers are great and left us goodies in the fridge when we showed up and they showed us how to work everything. There are nearby places to shop and eat (about 20 minutes away.) This place has its own trails near the water and the jungle and the house isperfect with a washer and dryer (which was great.)
There is a super cold air conditioner in both bedrooms (but you probably won't need it.) The house is built for ventiliation and it stays cool. There is a water stand with purified water for use and there is a fruit orchard on the premises. Amazing views in every direction and great internet with cable television if you need that too. Couldn't be happier! You can also use two mountain bikes to explore the entire farm and trails that run throughout the property along the creek.
Beautiful Farm/Jungle Experience
We stayed at Valley Stream Ranch for 4 nights and loved it! The house is exactly as shown and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the AC’s in the 2 bedrooms worked well, and the 2 seater ATV was great for checking out the property, which is beautiful! We happened to be there for orange harvest time and picked oranges and grapefruit and limes right off the tree and ate them fresh or squeezed them for juice. We saw lots of birds but only caught a glimpse of 1 howler monkey (they call them baboons). Irma and her family live next to the rental house and were wonderful to interact with. We opted to pay Irma to make our meals as there aren’t many restaurants in the area and she made us delicious fry jacks, hand-made tortillas, rice and beans, lots of local cuisine. The Hummingbird Highway goes right past the house so there was some traffic noise but not too much as it’s not a very big highway. There are a few dogs on the property which run loose, which was fine with us as they were very friendly and we enjoyed their company. But something to be aware of if you’re not a dog lover. The front screen door needs to be fixed as it didn’t latch properly and so sometimes the dogs found their way into the house when we weren’t looking. But overall it was a wonderful stay in a beautiful, rural part of Belize. Make sure you visit the Country Barn in St Margaret's for their delicious homemade ice cream. Try cave tubing at nearby St Herman's Cave with Belize Inland Tours and/or hike up the river on the property.
This place is special
This place is special, and unlike many things you may experience on your trip to Belize. I highly recommend it, especially if you plan to drive. The drive there from Belize City was a great way to see the beautiful landscape of Belize. The location is beautiful, the orchard and grounds are incredible, and the access they give to explore every part of it is amazing. They provide you with access to two mountain bikes and an ATV for easy transport, or it's a great place to hike. It's a huge property that extends up into the hills for some incredible landscape views. They can also set up any day trip tours you may want to do, but honestly, there is so much to explore on the orchard, that we opted to not do any of the local tours. The house was clean and very comfortable. Lots of different places to relax in and around the house. Fresh squeezed orange juice was provided, as well as a big bowl of other fruit (Grapefruits, oranges, and limes) were delicious and really appreciated. Michael, our on site contact, was an awesome host, and was friendly and readily available to help us with any questions or needs that we had. This place was a great value and a highlight of our trip.
The orchard and surrounding area are stunning
The orchard and surrounding area are absolutely stunning. Our 9 year old daughter loved the animals that were around, a baby goat, several dogs, puppies (her favorite), geese, and of course assorted wildlife and lots of birds. Set in the hills of central Belize and with beauty in every direction this was a great getaway spot. There are a few restaurant options around, though we tended to cook at the house for most meals during our 5 day stay. It was about an hour and a half to get to San Ignacio and some of the Mayan ruins to the west near the Guatemalan border, and about 45 minutes east will get you to Dangriga on the coast, all via main roads that are in great condition. We had driven up from Placencia area and it took about 1.5 hours. The house has mostly new furniture and furnishings, and includes an assortment of board games and a set of his and hers mountain bikes that were brand new when we visited. We took our 4x4 rental car back to the river at the back of the property several times, loaded up with our two kids and snacks, and spent time playing in the river and lounging in the shade amongst the jungle. The house is set somewhat near the road, so occasional trucks during the day or evening woke our baby up, but otherwise this is a quiet and calm getaway spot.
close to cave tubing, zip line, waterfall repel and Mayan Ruins.
Few miles from Sleeping Giant Resort.
