Lovely apartment in a perfect location for the slopes for our family of 4. All the facilities you need and close to a supermarket which stocks all the usual essentials. Oven perhaps a little small but there is a hob and microwave.
Resort great with loads of slopes which were blissfully quiet. Would definitely recommend.
Thanks very much for your comments
skiing in grand massif
Stayed here for a short break February 2019
Accomodation is a one bedroom apartment. Well equipped kitchen comfortable beds. There is a ski locker that would fit everyones skis/boards.
The apartment is about 100 metres from the main chair out of Morillon 1100 and you can ski back to the roadside opposite the apartment
Morillon 1100 is a small development above Morillon village. There is a supermarket, 4-5 restautrants/bars, ski hire etc. Ideal for the slopes. It would have been nice if the gondala linking 1100 to Morillon ran in the evenings I really like Grand Massif. The advantage of staying in the villages is that they are prettier than Flaine and if the weather is bad (it wasn't!) there is plenty of skiing in the trees. In good weather it is quite quick to ski over to the main Flaine bowl.
Thanks very much for your review
A bright, warm, comfortable apartment, well equipped and close to the lifts, shops and restaurants
This was my second visit to the Grand Massif, which i love; it’s very pretty and offers brilliant skiing for intermediates even when there’s a lack of natural snow. Last time I stayed in Flaine which is busier and buzzier than Morillon 1100, but I also like the more chilled vibe here. Access to the slopes is so easy from the apartment. Unfortunately my daughter injured herself at the end of day 2 and was housebound so we were very grateful to have a comfortable apartment that felt like a home for the week! It was plenty big enough for the three of us with our tidy heads on not to feel cramped and it would be a good base for a larger number of people. Because of the bumpy access to the restaurants and bars we didn’t end up trying them but the shop kept us going all week...delicious cheeses, meats and wine....we were happy! Would definitely recommend.
Thanks very much for those comments, and of course it started snowing the day after you left!
Short end of season ski trip
Was looking for a ski resort within 1hr of Geneva airport to allow maximum time on the slopes. From my initial contact with Alastair, he was extremeley helpful in providing swift response to any questions as well as giving other relevant info.
Appartment was very functional. It was for 3 male adults who wanted a base close to the slopes and could use to cook if required. All in all a good trip and would recomend this appartment for those looking for similar type trip.
Thanks for that, we get quite a few guests for short breaks in January and March
Perfect in every way.
I arrived with three good friends for a guys week of skiing.
I have to say as I never organised something like this before I was anxious.
Alastair helped me and was readily available for all questions - even the silly ones.
I would recommend the Apt wholeheartedly.
It is warm, comfortable and so close to the slopes/gondola.
I'm just back home and want to go back again now.
I will certainly be coming back with my family soon.
Thanks for that, and hope you'll visit again next season
A great base for exploring the Grand Massif!
We had a great stay at this apartment in January of this year. We were lucky to arrived just as 50cm of snow fell at the resort!
Very clean and presentable apartment and a fantastic location for the nursery slope as well as the main chair lift to the upper slopes. I literally skied to the door of the boot room! It might be a bit of a squeeze with anymore than more than 3 adults in the room, but for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) it would be perfect!
Thanks for your kind comments.
Home of the 2006 Olympic Downhill Champion, Morillon in the Grand Massif ski area is 1 hours drive from Geneva, or 2 hours from Chambery, and 20 minutes from the Geneva-Chamonix motorway . For skiers and snowboarders there are 260 kilometres of linked pistes on one lift pass. Morillon 1100 is a purpose built chalet style village linked by road, pistes and telecabine to the traditional village of Morillon. There is no need to drive to and from the lifts (as there is in Samoens), so you can ski to the apartment. Morillon 1100 has a Ski School (and Nursery), Ski hire shops, Restaurants, Bars, and a Supermarket. The old town of Samoens is 15 minutes drive away. The resorts of Flaine, Samoens, Les Carroz and Sixt are easily reached by blue and red ski runs. In the summer the lake and river offer a wide range of activities, including swimming, mountain biking, tennis, mini-golf, rafting, parapente, and golf. Lake Geneva and Chamonix are less than an hour away. Short breaks are available.
Other Activities: Snowboarding, parapente, river rafting, tree top zip wires.
Ski: The Grand Massif Ski area is one of the biggest in France. It has excellent lift and piste links between Morillon, Samoens, Les Carroz, Flaine and the famous 16 kilometer Cascade run from the top of flaine to Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval.
If you are based in Morillon 1100, there is no need to drive or take a bus to and from the lifts (as you do in Samoens). You can ski door to door. Most of the runs in Morillon are wide blues and reds through the trees ,with a Nursery area and Jam Park for the children. The slopes of Les Carroz are 1 lift away and it takes about half an hour to ski to Flaine or Samoens. The Grand Massif (hands free) lift pass covers all these areas and also includes a days skiing in nearby Les Gets, Morzine and the rest of the Portes de Soleil.
