About Premiere Properties

This home is privately owned and well maintained. New investments in furnishings, electronics and landscaping are constantly made. Many tasteful original works of art by the artist-owner and artist's friends are displayed throughout the house.

Premiere Properties purchased this house in 2005

Why Premiere Properties chose New Mexico

The home is extremely comfortable, with beautiful architecture, stunning views and two separate family rooms, one for adults, one for teens. It is a great house for parties, with its indoor and outdoor living spaces.

We fell in love with the views and the "Bridge to no-where" extending from the master bedroom to the hiking trails behind the house in the national wildlife area.

The home is just above the charming town of Arroyo Seco. It is a quaint, all-American town, with a top 10 North America Conde Nast Traveller ice cream shop (Taos Cow) and the best 4th of July parade ever. A visit to Alto Salto is wholesome, relaxing and wonderful. Come and see for yourself!

What makes this house unique

The property is unique in Arroyo Seco NM because of the 360 mountain views and privacy. You can forget about the world on the sunny patio listening to the wind in the trees.

Alto Salto - Taos, NM

  • 5 of 5

The entire property is beautiful. The house is comfortable, open and spacious with unexpected luxuries like original artwork from Taos artists. My husband and I stayed for a week with friends who had kids and we had a fantastic time. The views are stunning and there is hiking right out the back door. You will want to sit on the patio forever with a cool drink and enjoy the fresh breeze, and I do not ever remember seeing so many stars at night. This place is truly spectacular and the nearby town, Arroyo Seco, has fun artisan shops and local eateries. We will definitely stay here again.

Disappointment City

  • 1 of 5

The house was dirty, there was dried food on the plates, the kitchen smelled of gas (oven leak?) There was not enough hot water to fill up the bath tub in the master bath. The owner scheduled an appliance delivery while we were there. Best (worse) of all, the chemicals in the hot tub burned our skin and bleached our hair and clothes. The owner took took no responsibility for our issues

Stunning Place of Rest and Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

I love this place. Great view, technology was updated from my last stay and they decorating is cozy and inviting. The house is super roomy and affords one a sense of openness indoors. I love to paint, so the atmosphere is PERFECT! I love to ski too and the house is right at the base of the road to the slopes! It doesn't get nicer in Taos!!

This property needs updating and help

  • 2 of 5

I am unimpressed with this home. It needs updating and the description is highly overblown. It has a great secluded location with privacy and wonderful views, but the house itself is lacking. It does have size, but the layout is very chopped up. From the beginning, when we arrived, the address numbers are partially missing from the post at the property entrance, so it was confusing and difficult to locate the property. Why not get a full set of visible numbers at the entrance - unbelievable? The TVs and the tech are very old and outdated, tons of remotes and NO INSTRUCTIONS other than the original manuals, so it is difficult to tell what is hooked up to what and how to set everything up even to play simple DVDs. TV channel selection is very limited. If you like tech and the ability to stream, play your IPOD, watch your own movies, this definitely

isn't the place for you. The steps converge at the bottom of the kitchen in a dangerous configuration, there are floor tiles that are raised above the normal floor one can easily trip over, so this house is not for anyone who has any physical limitations. The landscape is overgrown with weeds, making the views from inside the house very disappointing. No bath soap when we arrived at the property, and as far as this is from town, to have no bath soap is absurd for what they are charging. Beds were average or slightly below - very soft. There is nothing exceptional about the property except the location and the views from the lot perimeter. The owners and those responsible need to put substantial effort and updating into this house to charge the prices they are expecting.

Owner's Response: Dear Guests, Thank you very much for your comments and concerns. Please know, we take your concerns very seriously. In fact, we have a van full of updated electronics (3 flat screen TVs, Roku sticks for Netflix, new MP# player stereos to bring to Alto Salto) and we’re waiting to have access to the house to deliver updated furniture and equipment as well as winterize the garden. Thank you also for letting us know about the signage numbers on the driveway. They must have just fallen off the sign post, so we will take care of that right away. The house has soap dispensers in the each of the bathrooms, so we will check with the housekeepers to verify. We believe the changes and your concerns are addressable and that the house has a romance and excellent bones. It is true the house is not built for wheelchairs, but it is comfortable, architecturally sound and especially good for families with teenagers wanting to have two social areas/party rooms. The Great Room is 1200+ square feet and the Master Bedroom suite is 900+ square feet; the first floor bedrooms and recreation room can be considered “chopped up” as they can closed off with a door: many guests with teenagers enjoy this feature so that kids can have a social area separate from adult gatherings in the Great Room or on the patio. Finally, we believe the house is very reasonably priced compared to other homes of similar quality and certainly in comparison to vacation rentals in other US regions. Again, thank you for your concerns. They are well taken and will be promptly addressed. We believe with the upgrades mentioned above, Alto Salto is a 5 star home. For our future guests who would like to see more reviews of home, you may visit our listing on VRBO which has been active for many years. ( vrbo.com/64978 ). - Elizabeth T.

Spectacular view!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 loved this house! The views into the valley of Taos are amazing! Everyone fought over the master shower b/c of the view. Fully stocked kitchen. The ping pong table gave us hours of entertainment at night. We enjoyed a nice short hike from the house by going up the road to the dead end...and then following a trail up the mountain. The house was warm in the afternoons in June...too warm to enjoy being upstairs...needs more fans. We stayed in the cooler downstairs then. The house overall was in good working order. Comfortable beds, nice tv's, plenty of linens/towels, nice appliances, plenty of space and seating. Needs some attention to the grill and the bugs (we discussed these with property manager). If I return to Taos, I'd stay here again. A few of the best things we did were eating at Stella's, Taos Inn, and Michael's...hiking to William's Lake...white water rafting the "Racecoarse" with Los Rios River Runners.
