Lee and Susan Peach
About Lee and Susan Peach
Lee and Susan Peach own this special place which is named after its original owner, Fannie English, although it might be more fair to say that the cabin owns us. The cabin is something of a local landmark, known as the English cabin, so that's good enough for us. Susan is north-Georgia bred and born. Lee hails from England . . . he is English . . . the English cabin. Coincidence? Noooo. Fate.
Lee and Susan Peach purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Lee and Susan Peach chose Clayton
Lee likes fishing, Susan likes water, and we both like boats so we'd been looking for a coastal or lake get-away where we might someday retire. We found those too costly for our liking, and we'd just about given up when a friend sent us a link to this cabin for sale. We drove up there in the snow to have a look, fell in love straight away, and made an offer that very evening. Hailing from north Georgia, Susan and her sisters were dragged all over southern Appalachia by the parents while growing up, so it seemed a natural and delightful fit to call Rabun County, Georgia "home." Susan's family and relatives, young and old, love the place, too. Lee's family visiting from England love it. Everyone who has been there loves it. It seems there is something for everyone. It's a special place.

Simple and amazing! Love the creek! Love the sounds! Love the owners! Love the price! Why stay at a hotel when you can stay in heaven! :-) We will be back again! A++++++
I will return.
My daughter and I stayed at the cabin for three nights. The cabin and property was very relaxing. Sit out by the fire pit and listen to the waters of Persimmon creek flow by and laugh and appreciate spending quality time with my daughter. If you enjoy fishing the creek has trout and other varieties of fish in it. The owners are very personable and a delight to meet and talk with. Needless to say I will be making a return trip to this property.
The English cabin was great, as were the owners. The weather was perfect this year for the first time in the four years I’ve been going. The cabin is small and cozy feeling, and has the best view imaginable. My little cousin caught two rainbow trout out of Persimmon creek. I’ll definitley be back!
It was a pleasure to meet you and your family members. We are happy that y'all enjoyed your stay, and you are certainly welcome back next year (or anytime) for your annual trek to north Georgia trout waters.

For many years I have been enchanted by this little cabin on the creek. The Persimmon Community in NW Rabun County has been my favorite place in the world. I was thrilled to stumble across the English Cabin while searching for a reasonable rental in the Clayton area! I wasted no time and looked no further!
Scrupulously clean, the cabin is welcoming and inviting with charming vintage details. The yards are immaculate. Susan and Lee are wonderful! Only minutes from the most beautiful river imaginable, this is the PERFECT home base for exploring the limitless entertainment opportunities of the NE Georgia mountains and beyond! Thank you Susan and Lee, for sharing your precious place with us!!!
Lesa, you are correct that the English cabin is precious. It is a special place though I'd be hard pressed to put in words why that is so. We were delighted to share it with you, and we're sorry we missed you. Many thanks to you and Ben for the dream catcher! Now I just have to bide a while and see where it wants to be. You and yours are welcome back any time you get to jonesing for hill country.
Until next time,
