About this property

Million Dollar View from Top of Seven Devil

Relax and enjoy the incredible 180 degree views available from nearly every room of this luxury mountain lodge perched at 4,750 feet in the heart of the high country. Watch hawks soar BELOW you, from the comfort of the glass-walled great room, the dramatic sun room, or from the large covered deck.

The main floor features cathedral ceilings with exposed imported cedar beams, maple hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, a master suite with king-size bed, a spacious great room with stone fireplace and 2 leather sofas. The entertainment system in the great room features a 55-inch 'smart' HD television with access to Netflix and Pandora, surround sound system, and a BluRay DVD player. The main floor also has an additional bedroom with two double beds. There is a spacious screened in porch with wicker sofa and chair. During the colder months, the porch is enlcosed with plexi-glass so you can enjoy it thorughout the year.

The downstairs area includes a third bedroom with queen-sized bed, and a fourth bedroom/game room with sleeper sofa where kids of all ages can enjoy the large TV watch a movie, study at a work desk, or just hang out away from the crowd.

Bring your laptop and stay in touch with the office and friends via the Wi-Fi internet connection available throughout the home.

The property is easily accessible from well maintained paved roads which are frequently serviced during the winter ski season (4 wheel drive or all-wheel drive will be required during periods of snow and/or extreme cold). The home is located on 2 large lots and parking for 3 vehicles.

While the Seven Devils area is known for dramatic mountain vistas and great skiing (Hawks Nest Snow Tubing Resort is located within Seven Devils...Beech and Sugar Mountains are within sight), the immediate area has many year-round attractions for the entire family, including great restaurants in Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and Boone, golf and tennis, championship college football, shopping in Blowing Rock, and the Tweetsie Railroad theme park. Great hiking, mountain biking and fishing are available throughout the region. Entrance to the Grandfather Mountain Trail System is two miles west of Seven Devils Rd. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is only a few miles away. The Appalachian Trail is about 25 miles away.

This is a non-smoking home.

Awesome View and Clean Home
The home was accurately described in the listing and well stocked and clean! Amazing views, especially with the snow. Only issue we had was not at all related to the home and it was weather related. Snowed several inches one day and the sharp curvy roads were covered in ice. We made it to the home but it was an interesting trek back up the mountain after the temps dropped below freezing. Home owner graciously allowed a slight late check out while waiting on temps to get above freezing. The roads thawed quickly on the east facing slopes and we were able to get down the mountain with ease.

Absolutely beautiful view!
The house definitely has a million dollar view! The drive up was very curvy and tight but once there it was amazing. The home itself, was equipped with everything you need. The only downfall was, you could only take a couple of showers before the hot water was gone. The detailed check-in/checkout information was a bit overwhelming, but it leaves you with no questions, ;) We would come back and recommend!

Awesome view, loud when windy
Pros: spacious house, nicely renovated bathrooms, open living room, host communication Con: house was very noisy when windy, sounded like someone hitting a drum on the screened in porch - we were constantly woken up throughout that night

About the host

The Taylors and the Hubers became great friends while living in Miami, Fl. After the Taylor's moved to the Charlotte area, we decided to look for a mountain property to share. The Huber's had summered in the Highlands/Cashiers area for years. After one wonderful October weekend in the NC High Country, both of our families decided the Boone/Blowing Rock/Banner Elk area would be the perfect place to buy because the house could be enjoyed in the summer and winter.

Why they chose this property

Our number one feature was a year round view for our mountain home. This is harder to find than you would think in the NC High Country. We looked at over 50 houses in the area. Once we walked into this property, we knew it would be the perfect retreat with the view of our dreams.

What makes this property unique

Besides all the great features of this home, we have the wonderful town of Seven Devils. They make this house easily accessible during the winter months. All the roads are paved and snow plowed during ski season. So, you can get to the house and enjoy the snowy winter months.
