What makes this Apartment unique
Even if it lies in a very central area of Venice in the Castello “ Sestiere “ ( quartier ) is very quiet being out of the mass tourism beaten path but at the same time close to everything. In fact it takes only a few minutes walk to the nearest public boat piers ( San Zaccaria dock ) where all the major boat lines depart to all the most important destinations: Airport, Train Station, Parking Areas, Murano, Burano, Torcello, Venice-Lido. Next to the apartment you can find everything you need for a pleasant stay like local Restaurants, bar as well as supermarkets, butchers, bakeries and chemist. In Venice, people almost always get around on foot, therefore it is a great convenience to be just at a few minutes walk from the Saint Marc’s Cathedral and the Doge’s Palace, the Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront, the Rialto Bridge or the Biennale gardens and the Arsenale. And even because public transportation in Venice is very expensive, 7,5 euro each ticket.

Perfect loft in Venice
We loved our stay in this beautiful loft in Venice. It was perfectly situated in the city, and had everything we could need for our stay. Elisabetta was lovely, and explained everything in the loft, in addition to giving us a wonderful map with items marked for our ease of travel. There is only one thing I would recommend - either some English movie CD's or Netflix. We are not night old, and after walking all day around the city, enjoy sitting down with a movie or TV in the evening. Gratefully, we did have wifi, which mitigated that to a degree.
Romantic loft in beautiful Venice
My wife and I stayed in this beautiful loft during our recent visit to Venice and absolutely loved it. Elisabetta did a fantastic job of making everything easy prior to our arrival, providing all the details we needed including great instructions for finding our way from St Lucia train station. The loft itself was beautiful and in a perfect location. We found it easy to get to all the sights without being right in the middle of the crowds. And Elisabetta gave us excellent recommendations for coffee and pastries as well as dinner options. We'll definitely look to visit Venice again, and hopefully stay in the loft too.
Nice Base for Experiencing Venice
My wife and I stayed here for several nights in late April and early May. The apartment is well appointed with a full stainless steel kitchen, nice size bathroom, comfortable furnishings, and large comfortable bed up the stairs in a loft. There is a washing machine in the bathroom but it does not also function as a dryer. The location is excellent for exploring the city - very central to the major sites, yet in a quiet and safe neighborhood (Castello). Saint Mark's Square is ten minutes away through interesting streets of shops and restaurants. A picturesque canal is below a small balcony. Elizabetta is charming and very responsive with helpful suggestions. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay here again if we ever return to Venice.
This apartment was an excellent value and choice - Elizabetta is very accessible and takes a lot of pride and care to make sure your stay is everything you wish it to be. The apartment is spacious and well appointed -- you can tell that someone has taken the time to think about what you might want or need to be at home. I would definitely book this apartment again. The loft bedroom and stairs up to it will not suit everyone, but, it was extremely comfortable and the location was very quiet -
Classy Well Appointed
It was obvious a great deal of time was spent considering the design of this apartment, beautiful kitchen stainless appliances, good sized bathroom with large shower & sink, high end, washer & an extremely generous comfortable bed. The neighborhood is quiet, but close to all the sites. Having a view of one of the canals to see the sites from the door & window really presented a great view of the city - gondoliers singing & accompanied by musicians. Elizabetta was so gracious, supplied a great deal of information plus ammenities that travelers don't want to deal with ie extra toliet paper, paper towels, a good supply of towels, fruit upon arrival. There is access to the canal from the building, so if renters can afford a water taxi, it avoids dragging luggage to the crowded vapporettos & through the street. Elizabetta arranged for a water taxi to the train station, wonderful. Having a lift in the building is also a big plus in addition to the historical lobby of this renovated palace. Just wished there had been more time in Venice! Great stay.
Home away from home.
We loved staying in this apartment! Every question I had before arrival was answered right away by email. Her photo directions to get to the apartment were perfect and fun to follow. The fruit and water were great as we didn't have to find the store the first day to have breakfast. I researched MANY properties before choosing this one. My only concern was the view across the canal looked like a church and I wasn't sure what kind of noise there would be. (church bells at 6 AM, singing , chanting.) Of course none of that happened. The only thing I heard from them was the daily opening of the wood shutters and closing them at night. I never heard any noise from the other apartments either.
I loved the view from the small balcony. I spent a lot of time standing there watching the kids go to school (1/2 block away) and boats delivering goods and people. Coffee in hand from her generous coffee maker. (coffee supplied)
I too had trouble with internet reception. My sister-in-law did pretty well but for me to get connected I had to go into the hall and up the stairs close to Elisabetta's apartment and the router. Once I was connected, then it would hold for long enough. I only found it slightly annoying and just part of the experience.
The bed was great. Not sure why the previous poster thought it was hard and hot. While we were there it was beautiful and 68-70 during the day and 50's at night. We closed the windows and were only warm one night. Easily fixed by opening a window and keeping the shutters closed to shut out the light.
We loved having our own key and feeling like a local coming and going. Silly but we loved how it made us feel vs a hotel.
The pictures are all accurate and I would certainly recommend this apartment to my friends when they go to Venice.
