6/10 Okay

Nice cottage in great location
We would be awarding our stay 5 stars were it not for several maintenance issues that we encountered. The cottage is well built and has great views of Dunmanus Bay. However lack of attention to preventative maintenance by the owner meant that we had to deal with several issues, the most serious of which was the potentially defective oil-fired central heating system. Thanks to Anna, the very helpful and positive housekeeper, these were mostly dealt with quite quickly. Note that the charges for electricity and fuel oil are quite a lot higher than their cost to the landlord and could add up quickly, if the weather is not cooperating. To be fair, in our case, the landlord agreed to reduce what we owed by more than half. The prepay WIFI system costs can mount up, and requires access to an Irish Freephone number, which our US cell phones could not call. However, the local store in Durrus will let you use their phone to make a prepayment.

Great location off a very quite road
Great location - in a lovely landscape with great views - off a very quite road, close to Durrus, and within easy striking distance to Ballydehob and Skull or the Sheep's Head. Pretty standard Irish holiday home: clean and well maintained, just as shown on Trip Advisor really.

10/10 Excellent

Highly recommended -stunning views,cosy house
We spent a week in Dunmanus view and we wished we could have stay longer.Very comfortable and big common rooms so we could all spend time together easily.Views from the house are amazing, we had to force ourselvs to get around to other places as we were just very happy to be in the house and it's beautiful outsides. The house feels like a real home from home, spacious yet cosy. The house is very welcoming and had an individual personal touches. Highly recommend for those who want to get away from the city hassle for a while. The kitchen is well equipped , the views from the house are truly amazing, house location is spot on and a landlord is on the ball!

Lovely cottage in stunning location
Cottage was really well maintained and furnished, very clean and had everything we needed. Lovely welcome from Anna who explained everything. There are so many lovely walks, drives, beaches, restaurants and pubs fairly nearby - too many to mention. The instructions to take rubbish and recycling to Bantry was unhelpful. Something more guest friendly would have been appreciated.
