Located 10 minutes from downtown Homer overlooking Cook Inlet and the surrounding Ring of Fire mountains, this recently built apartment will make you feel right at home while providing a serene setting in which to enjoy all the Southern Kenai Peninsula has to offer. The apartment is a completely separate unit above a garage, providing the area's best views from a lofty deck, top-of-the line appliances, a jet tub for relaxing and artful decor throughout. Handmade quilts and local art for warmth and color. The kitchen is perfect for cooking up that fresh-caught salmon, and the Diamond Ridge location provides excellent access to both Homer and the Anchor River, two of the world's best fishing spots. Other recreation opportunities abound, from hiking across Kachemak Bay to access to miles of cross country ski trails in the winter.

About Samantha Cunningham

I am a self- acknowledged Foodie who loves traveling, cooking new things, and gardening. I moved to Alaska so my children would be able to grow up outside, not inside. I also have a passion for quilting, knitting, and reading- visitors will find a wide variety of books on hand! My husband is an artist and builder- the view includes a stain-glass greenhouse window and "small house" from recycled material on the property, some of Robert's summer projects.

Why Samantha Cunningham chose Diamond Ridge

I moved to Alaska 20 years ago, which is about how long it takes to truly work a piece of land in Alaska. It takes patience and perseverance to farm and grow trees here. This home shows the love and energy of the time spent here raising two boys. There are stories to spare about this property, and the people who stay here often come back to see how things are going as the years pass.

What makes this apartment unique

This is also a small working farm. Ducks, chickens and a green house are part of the view, with moose walking down the side trail made to channel them out of the garden. Sandhill cranes reside from early May until sometime in September, flying at eyelevel with the rental porch area. Fresh eggs from the henhouse are part of the kitchen and we try to share the Farm in season.

This is also a small working farm in the summer, with fresh eggs and the occasional bunch of herbs or vegetables provided. Morning snacks can be gluten-free if I know ahead of time.

Alaska sancutary in Homer

What a relaxing and beautiful apartment. The wonderful view and the huge deck are a great place to enjoy a glass of wine while you watch the sun set. We got to watch a sandhill crane hanging out in the yard one evening, it's really amazing how big they are! The kitchen was well appointed and the fresh eggs made for a perfect breakfast in the morning.

Peaceful get-a-way

The apartment is a few miles out of Homer so it gives you a feeling of being away from everything and in only a few minutes drive and you are in the center of all of the action.

Great spot to stay!

My husband and I spent a few nights here. The farm is so charming. The views were incredible. We loved sharing a bottle of wine after a long day of hiking on the deck. The place is very clean and well stocked and of course the fresh eggs were wonderful. We would stay again next time in Homer.

Comfortable rental with a STUNNING view

Absolutely fabulous rental unit. Clean and spacious. View is so majestic....the patio was the perfect place to end a busy day of fishing, hiking etc. Thank you Samantha for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!!!

This is very suited for people wanting a view of 'real' Alaska, away from the City and at the end of the road. Homer is a very artistic and eclectic town with a specialty in fishing and eating. Good biking and walking trails downtown on the Spit, excellent fishing and kayaking trips off the Spit. Seldovia, across the Bay, is an accessible Native village, with daily flights there and ferry service on the whim of the tides.
