About the property

Comfortable accommodation for five people, 2 mins walk from the seafront.

This three bedroom apartment is in a quiet, historic terrace, two minutes walk from Anstruther’s pretty harbour. Flexible accommodation, for a maximum of five people, includes master bedroom with king size bed, one bedroom with two single beds that can be converted into a super-king, and one single bedroom.

The apartment is accessed from a private road, to the rear of the terrace, with a dedicated parking space opposite the front door. On entering, an ornate staircase leads up to the first floor where you will find the well equipped dining kitchen, spacious, south facing living room, master bedroom and family bathroom. On the second floor there are two further bedrooms and a toilet/shower room. Outside, is a small, but very sunny, private garden with clothes drying area and seating.

Bedroom 1. Master bedroom on first floor with original fireplace and window with original wooden shutters.

Bedroom 2. Attic bedroom on second floor with two single beds that can be zipped together to form a super-king. Bay window and velux window.

Bedroom 3. Attic bedroom on second floor with single bed. Bay window and velux window.

Living Room:

South facing living room with original, shuttered window. Comfortable seating for five people, TV with Freeview.

Dining Kitchen:

Modern, fitted kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, toaster, microwave. Table and chairs for five.

Bathroom/toilet:

Family bathroom. On first floor with bath, wc, wash hand basin, heated towel rail.

Toilet/shower room. On second floor with shower cubicle, wc, wash hand basin,

heated towel rail.

Outside:

Private parking for one car

Small garden/ patio with table, BBQ, chairs, outside lighting, 'den', clothes drying line

Amenities:

Washer/dryer on ground floor

Cot, high chair and stair gate can be provided

The area

Anstruther is one of the East Neuk of Fife’s favourite towns. Its position on the north side of the Firth of Forth gives it outstanding views south to the East Lothian coast, Berwick Law, Bass Rock and the Isle of May National Nature Reserve. Boats to the Isle of May sail from Anstruther harbour from May to September, making it a popular destination for birdwatchers. The town itself boasts a picturesque harbour, the excellent Scottish Fisheries Museum, world famous fish and chip shop and plenty of other good restaurants and convivial pubs. Anstruther also has beautifully preserved and restored buildings, two sandy beaches and a links golf course.

The Fife Coastal Path cuts through the town, with Pittenweem an easy mile and a half walk west and Crail four miles east. The trail connects what are, arguably, the most atmospheric and historically intact villages in Scotland. St Andrews, home of golf and of Scotland’s oldest university, is 10 minutes drive away. Regular bus services connect the East Neuk towns and villages.

Anstruther is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes from Edinburgh and 1 hour 45 minutes from Glasgow by car.

Beautiful home in a lovely place!

We had a week in early August staying at this lovely property. Everything you need is here. Great facilities, lovely and clean and just a stroll takes you to the harbour. Great chippy, lovely pub food. Local co-op sells all you need.

Lots to do in the area. We visited St Andrews for beach and good eating. The walk along the coastal path from Crail to Anstruther was spectacular. We walked up Normans Law for fabulous panoramic views. Elie is a lovely spot too. Thanks for letting us stay!

Beautiful apartment

Loved our stay at 8 Union Place. Beautiful apartment which is well equipped. Apartment was spotless on arrival with a great welcome hamper....prosseco went down a treat! Super comfy beds... 11 year old felt like a princess in her superking sized bed!! Would def recommend

Lovely House

Beautiful, well equipped house - everything we could have asked for as a home from home for our weeks stay. Welcome pack including milk and fizz which was a lovely touch. Jane was lovely to deal with and we will definitely be back in the future.

Our home from home

Tired from our journey from Yorkshire, we were delighted to find on our arrival, an apartment as good as

the the photos had suggested. The thoughtful touches of goodies etc., level of equipment and general

ambience was much appreciated. Local amenities such as eateries, newspapers from the post office,

the large coop nearby, the Tahitian Princess story and house, and equally enchanting fishing harbours

up and down the coast, all helped our stay to be a memorable one. Mike Wallis.

The East Neuk is perfect for walkers and nature lovers. The Fife Coastal Path offers beautiful beaches and stunning scenery and connects some of Scotland's most picturesque and best preserved towns. For birdwatchers the ferry to the Isle of May NNR leaves Anstruther from April to September. For families there are plenty of clean, sandy beaches and Bankie Park, which has excellent play equipment for children of all ages, is just round the corner. And then, of course there is golf - at its home in St Andrews 15 minutes drive away, or at Anstruther's own 9 hole course.
