Recently built luxury apartment overlooking pool,gardens and sea. The open plan lounge is situated at the second floor level,along with the huge master bedroom (king size bed plus child futon),en-suite shower room,also a cloakroom off the entrance hall.There is a full length terrace equipped with barbecue and ample rattan outdoor furniture.The terrace overlooks the pool and gardens, to the sea beyond.
On the upper floor are the other 2 bedrooms, 1 king size and 1 twin. These 2 bedrooms share a shower room.All bedrooms have air-conditioning and all have ample storage space and patio doors opening on to the terrace.. There is also a separate exit to the large sun terrace which is equipped with 4 luxury sun loungers and further outdoor furniture.
The apartment is stylishly furnished with chunky solid oak furniture,plus 2 Italian leather sofas,one of which is a sofa bed.TV with recordings of English TV programmes and DVD player.The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker and hob,microwave,grill,fridge freezer,washer and dishwasher. A water filter has been installed so there is no need to buy bottled water. Even the view from the kitchen window is amazing - over the rooftops of the villas at Dunas Beach you can see the bright blue sea,the sailing boats and kite surfers. A utility cupboard houses a clothes airer,iron and ironing board.
In the evening you can enjoy an aperitif on the terrace as the sun sets, enjoy a meal at the apartment or visit a restaurant and/or bar in town. One of the restaurants will even deliver your choice of meal to you.
A taxi costs 4 euros daytime, 5 euros in the evening. Currency - euro or cv escudo.
Changeover day flexible to suit flight arrangements.
My husband and I stayed here for a month over Xmas and New Year and had a wonderful stay.
The apartment is huge...It was like having a floor each at times!
Wonderful sea views and a lovely cooling breeze.
The apartment is extremely well equipped, clean and comfortable.
The resort is relatively new and yes there are parts that have been half built but once inside the resort that isn't obvious. This part of the resort that is finished is beautiful. Manicured lawns and beautiful landscaping make is extremely attractive.
It is a way out from Santa Maria and on a hot day is maybe a little too far to walk unless you're fit but there was a 1€ shuttle available at certain times of the day...then it was a 4€ taxi back.
Being out of Santa Maria means you have total peace and quiet.
We were the only ones on the beach most days!
I fell ill whilst there and Laura the resort manager went above and beyond to help. She is on hand to help with anything and always finds the time for a chat. All of the staff are really lovely and helpful.
There's a small supermarket on the resort (very limited choice) but for basic needs is handy. There are supermarkets in town but don't expect European standards. Cape Verde is still very undeveloped and that for us was the attraction so if you want to totally chill out then this is the place to do so!
We wanted to return in March but the apartment was booked... If we return we will only stay at this apartment. I think that says it all!!!!!
Margaret was extremely helpful from start to finish and answered all queries quickly.
I shouldn't really go on about how lovely it is as selfishly we want it all to ourselves but that just wouldn't be fair!
Do NOT choose this apartment if you do NOT like the following:
Clean, well-maintained and very spacious rooms – huge balconies with lovely sea views, sun loungers, bbq etc. – clean pools with vacant sun beds any time of day, pool bar & restaurant open all day – friendly staff on site – wonderful scenery nearby, perfect for walks on the sea front – peace and quiet.
And yes, it does take 1 – 1,5 hrs to walk to Santa Maria, or a 5-minute taxi ride that sets you back €4 or €5. Taxis are everywhere, and during our stay there was even a shuttle bus (€1 each way) to town and back twice a day.
As for food shopping you can find lots of mini markets and Chinese shops & bakeries in Santa Maria. The supermarket Cazu is by far the best. And of course this being an island off Africa, the selection is not as wide as in Europe. We bought 2 kg of different fish on the pier for €12 – excellent value! The restaurants in S. Maria cater for all kinds of tastes, and prices were not as expensive as expected: you can have a 2-course meal with half a bottle of good Portuguese wine for €20-25.
Margaret the owner was extremely helpful with all kinds of information prior to our stay, so there were no nasty surprises on arrival – just a truly fantastic holiday! Thank you.
In February we stayed in this nice apartment in Paradische Beach resort. The apartment was very spacious, clean and complete. The owner even thought about a welcome package and was very helpful answering all our questions before the start of our holiday . The manager showed us around and told us about the facilities within the resort. The resort was not completely open yet, but the restaurant was running and they had enough to choose for a nice breakfast, lunch or diner. A walk through the resort brings you directly to the beach. There are not many facilities near to the beach yet, but for us with our toddler it was enough.
We rented a car for a day, this was a good way to see the island. The rest of the days we walked to town or the beach or we took a taxi. The taxis are reliable and not very expensive.
We had a lovely holiday, thank you again for your hospitality.
Un seul point positif : l'appartement correspond bien aux photos, très grand et propre.
Pour le reste, la résidence est complètement désertée juste une poignée d'appartements occupés, sur 4 piscines 2 sont vides, impossible d'obtenir internet dans l'appartement après plusieurs jours de demande à la réception on nous a répondu que les box sont réservées aux appartements réservés par des agences, à la piscine où il est soit disant gratuit il faut consommer pour avoir un ticket d'une heure et comme le serveur à très peu de ticket à donner quand vous faites le repas du soir au snack il n'a plus de ticket.
Le mini market de la résidence est presque vide, il n'y a pas de quoi préparer des repas, soit il faut marcher 1 heure pour aller à Santa Maria où il y a très peu de magasins de nourriture ou prendre un taxi environ 5 € l'aller.
La plage devant la résidence est déserte avec de grosses pierres, il faut donc marcher 1/2 heure pour aller à la plage de Ponta Preta où il y a souvent de grosses vagues pas du tout d'ombre et beaucoup de vent.
Pour manger il y a seulement 2 solutions soit le snack près de la piscine vide assez cher ou l'unique snack de la plage de Ponto Preta, sinon il faut aller jusqu'à Santa Maria.
Donc prévoir absolument une location de voiture ou un budget pour les taxis ou une bonne paire de chaussures !.....

Just a six hour flight from the UK, there is no jetlag, and whereas many visitors prefer to spend most of their time on the fabulous beaches there are plenty of other activities on offer to holidaymakers. Fishing,surfing,snorkelling,diving,in fact all kinds of water sports,quad biking,horse riding or just watching the marine life - whales,dolphins and turtles are among the many attractions Sal has to offer.
The locals are very friendly, and you can enjoy excellent food, especially fish dishes, at the many local restaurants. It is a lovely walk to the beach cafe and lunchtime restaurant at Ponta Preta. There is a constant breeze to keep you feeling comfortable.
The Paradise Beach development is situated by the beach on the west coast of Sal,just 15 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from Santa Maria town.With direct access to the beach, the apartments are set in beautiful gardens with 5 swimming pools, one of which has a pool bar where meals, snacks and breakfasts are available at very reasonable prices .
Although all the major building works are completed,only the south side of the resort is operational at the present time so this complex will appeal to people seeking quiet,relaxing yet beautiful surroundings.
A mini-market near reception is open daily to supply you with bread and all the basic groceries.
Excursions and water sports can be arranged on site.There is a water sports centre with cycle hire further along the beach.
