We had a great stay in Steve and Sherri's studio condo - everything we needed was there including a very comfy bed. We loved our morning coffee on the patio, just steps from the sparkling pool. Beautiful kitchen that we only used for snacks, coffee and afternoon libations, but it was so pretty. Satellite TV worked well and so did the wi-fi. Security came by often, walking the entire property which is wonderful. Staff were all friendly and we really enjoyed our 10 day stay.
We snorkeled and saw some very colorful fish and a few conches, swam, used the beach and a few beverages at the fun Sapphire Beach bar, and visited several other area beaches. Megans Bay was a favorite and our server Crystal brought us PainKillers in the water!
Love, loved RedHook... Tap'n Still (burgers), Pesce (great Italian), Fishtails, Duffy's for PainKillers (they have a movie night on Fridays), Sunset Grille, Mims (seafood), Iggies Oasis, Mafolie (our favorite bartender Page and server Sy!),
Rented a 16 ft/60 hp Boston Whaler in Cruz Bay from LowKey Watersports (rightside, down the beach from the Ferry Dock). Had a blast swimming & snorkeling Caneel Bay, Cinnamon Bay (and all the bays around to WaterLemon). GREAT day on the water.
Everyone we met was grateful for the tourist dollars and smiling faces. If you visit St. John go to Limin Inn for drinks and dinner. "The Danger" is a great afternoon libation! Sadly, one of our favorites (Barefoot Cowboy) has been unable to reopen.
The islands are recovering slowly and the vegetation is not what it was. But it was great to experience the happiness, beauty and serenity.
Turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and paradise still exists.
Highly recommend you visit!
We really love it when guests enjoy the condo! The island has done an amazing job in recovery from the hurricanes that came by the islands in 2017. However, the views and island is as beautiful as ever.
We had a wonderful vacation here. My husband, I , and two teen daugthers went for a week. The condo is clean and has everything you need. This resort has a nice pool and good snorkeling right on the beach. We loved that they had snorkel gear-brought the goggles with us to every beach we went to and saw amazing fish, sea turtle, and a ray! About a mile down the road to Red Hook where we took the ferry to St. John- a must! Also there is a marina on the property- where we did a day excursion to Virgin Gorda-The Baths and Jos Van Dyke- beautiful! Many restaurants in Red Hook, and a small grocery(expensive). I do suggest renting a car because the road down to Red Hook has no shoulder and feels very dangerous to walk it. Not many people on the resort-not sure if b/c off season or b/c of Irma. Nice Beach bar, but only open 12-6. Beautiful views from your patio. You can do laundry on site but costs $4 for a wash and $4 for a dry. Ate in Red Hook most nights. Drove to Mims restaurant which is right on the water with amazing seafood. You should check out Megen's Bay-gorgeous beach restaurant bar and Coki Point-best jerk chicken on the beach. . Great snorkeling at both locations. Owner was great about responding to a text I sent mid-week. Overall wonderful experience and I highly recommend this location!
Best Beach Experience ever!
The place was as advertised and much more! It is less than 10 steps to the beach from the rear door and you could not ask for a better location. The kitchen has everything you want to cook and the grill is perfect! The beach side cafe, near the kayak rental, is great for a cold beverage and bite to eat. The condo is close to many restaurants. At the top of the hill try VI Slice or go into Red Hook which is less than a 5 minute drive for more restaurant and bar options.
The views from the rear door/patio are fantastic and the snorkeling is some of the most amazing I have ever seen and we have been to a lot of islands in the Caribbean. I would recommend this condo and will definitely return to this place. The host was very responsive and helpful.
Great location. Loved the Beach service.
It was a nice unit, great location.
good place to stay
in the description of this property, the troyers were very honest and accurate in their description. the unit had every pot, pan glass and dish needed to make your own dinners, along with an electric b-b-q grill out side. the unit is clean and well appointed. since it is a ground floor unit, it is has easy access to the beach and pool, this is definately a plus. there is now a beach bar down on the beach, not far from the unit, good food and good drinks reasonably priced. i only have two complaints, one was the very poor tv reception in the unit, and the second was the poor sealing wooden front door that let in many a mosquito. so if you rent this place, take plenty of bug repellant, cutter worked the best for us, and enjoy your time there.
We always enjoy when guest enjoy their stay on the beach. The TV is a satellite TV with the reception provided by the Condo Association. Like any satellite reception it can be disrupted by several variables beyond anyone's control. The island does not "worry" much how well doors and window seal the weather from the outside, it is pretty much the same temperature year round day and night. Insects are a "problem" in the tropics which we let people know about when they inquire about our condo. It is a small price to pay to visit such a beautiful island!
The property was good.
The beach was rocky and you couldn't swim right in front of the condo. You had to walk in front of the buildings next door. It wasn't a long walk, but still it wasn't 10 feet away from the door. You have to rent a car and the cab from the Red Hook ferry dock cost three of s $20 to go one mile! There is no walking on the road! Too narrow and windy and no sidewalks.
The Caribbean water is about 30-40' from the rear door and is usually where people snorkel......some people do swim there, but if you are looking for a sandy bottom you have to walk about 80-100' down the beach where lounge are available at no cost to guests. The swimming pool is about 20-30' from the rear of the patio. If you plan to go several places renting a car is the best choice. The taxi's charge a standard rate from different places to your destination which is same as stateside. We have seen people walking the one mile from Red Hook, but have never done it ourselves.....the road is as described and we always rent a car. We had heard from the guest while they were there 3 days and they said they were having a great time.
Sapphire Beach is located on the prestigious East End of St. Thomas with exciting island night life and restaurants close by in Red Hook. Rated as one of the top views and beach on the Island of St. Thomas. Several other beaches and shopping within minutes away by Taxi, ferry, or boat excursions. Sure to be one of the best Caribbean vacations ever!
