Opening weekend bikepark
This condo is located in a great spot, with close lift access, good views, and easy parking. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen is functional, and the bathrooms were very usable. My 34 year old son and I were able to ride demo mountain bikes at the bike park all day Saturday and the weather was absolutely perfect. We had some good pizza from the Pizza Stop just down the hill Friday and then had some great green Chile cheeseburgers from the Enchanted Circle Brewing Co. on Saturday.
We enjoyed our stay at this condo because it basically has the potential for being a first class place but it certainly has a lot of deferred maintenance. The downstairs bedroom carpet is in bad need of a shampooing, the downstairs bathroom toilet seat is badly pitted and looks like it has been there from the beginning, ( a $20 fix from Walmart) the leather chair in the living room has a big gaping tear in the arm, there are marks on the walls and the doors that could be easily be fixed with some touchup paint, and the trim job looks like it was done by the three stooges.
Non- cosmetics things that we weren't really concerned with were the TV in the living room did not work and the internet did not work. We did not come to Angel Fire to watch TV but some people do. The TV in the bedroom turned on immediately but we did not watch it.
There was also a bad thing that happened when we first got there - outside the condo there was a horrible and strong smell of sewer gas. We didn't smell it all inside until probably 8 that night when we had to open the slider wide open to get rid of the smell. It did not occur again Saturday or Sunday.
If this was a friends condo that I was staying in for free and would certainly not even mentioned all these things but to pay over $200 a night and have all
Great location for a low key getaway
This property is located just a couple hundred yards from the main ski lift (Chile Express), an easy walk. It is not really ski in/ski out, though more snow might make this a possibility. The Condo has decent amenities you would expect but lacks some modern updates that would put it over the top. Everything was clean when we arrived and in relative good order. There needs to be a little more thought on the entry for boot and gear organization. Also, the bathrooms have enough space for some shelving/organizers that could also help sort out ski clothes for hanging up to dry. A small bench on the front porch would be a great addition, for taking boots on and off. This would limit much of the dirt and snow coming into the condo. A boot dryer would be worth its weight in gold, there is plenty of space for one upstairs. The kitchen is decent but tight and has a nice convection oven/range. The pots and pans could be updated and the cooking utensils are sparse, an easy fix though.
The beds are comfy and well maintained, the linens are of good quality and in satisfactory condition. There is plenty of space to spread out even though it is not that big of a condo. I think a wall mount for the TV that has a swing arm would be a great feature to get the cables off the floor.
All in all, this was a great place for a low key ski vacation without all the pomp and circumstance a place like Breckenridge offers. This area is much more secluded and the feel is much more about being outside and enjoying your time, not about your clothes or what car you drive.
So close to the ski resort and lifts, restaurants, and ski rental shops that we never had to drive anywhere! The house had everything we needed, and we would definitely rent this condo again.
This place was perfect and just what we needed. The beds were comfortable with cozy bedding, the living space was perfect for after skiing, making dinner and watching Christmas movies. The kitchen was equipped properly for a rental, it’s not a chef’s kitchen but that didn’t matter to us. There was plently of plates, bowls, cutlery and cooking utensils. Cooking ware was minimal but we made due with what we had and made fantastic memories here. We can’t wait to return!
This chalet was perfect for my husband and our two girls. We visited angel Fire to celebrate Christmas and this chalet suited all of our needs. Plenty of space, cozy accommodations, clean and the kitchen was well equipped for our basic cooking needs, if your planning to cook a gourmet meal this might be challenging considering the lack of cookware but and the small kitchen space. None the less we would recommend this chalet to everyone!
