4 person Cottage on beautiful all-sport Lake

About Jeanne Jerow
I recently semi-retired so I could spend more time paddling, swimming, hiking, scuba-diving, camping, and remodeling the cottage. I'm ready to make your stay more enjoyable, always ready with fresh (late-) morning coffee, and maybe good for a pontoon ride.
Jeanne Jerow purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Jeanne Jerow chose Lakeview
LAKE LIFE: Townline Lake is a bit of a secret - it seems like an 'up-north' lake, yet it's only an hour or so to get to so much of what West Michigan is all about. Life is slower around here...
What makes this Cottage unique
My family - we're water lovers. It only seems right to share a little lake life with other people. It's truly an adorable, very comfy secret! I hope you love it too! C'mon up!
No chewing/spitting/vaping on the premises.
Service dogs are welcome-please clean up after. TY
Minimum age of primary renter:21
Because the Staircase is very steep, I urge extra care with young children. You might have an owie or accident.

cozy channel cottage
We had a lovely weekend here. Jeanne was so welcoming when we got in and even shared a little of the house history. The house was everything we expected and more. Really loved that Jeanne herself renovated and decorated the cottage. We enjoyed visiting local produce stands, fishing off the dock, and exploring the area. If you’re coming in the fall don’t miss anderson and girls orchard - huge petting zoo, u-pick pumpkins (for 40 cents a pound!), and apple cider doughnuts. yummy dinner from main street pizza and morning coffee at village kupps. We look forward to staying again.
Very nice place to get away and relax, water out the back door and fish!
Would like to stay again some time
Great place for a great price!
My boyfriend and I came here for a weekend getaway and it was perfect for us! It was nice to get away from the fast pace life and just chill. We docked our boat right at the cottage giving us easy access to the lake. We fished, relaxed, and of course, ate good! Jeanne is a great host and was easily reachable. Could not have asked for a better first Vrbo experience.
Cute cottage getaway recharged our batteries
We were honored to be just the second set of guests on Jeanne’s cute-as-a-button property. And July 4 weekend festivities on the channel and lake made our stay even more fun. Deck in the back of Channel Cottage was our morning coffee, reading and turtle-watching spot. McKenna’s in downtown Lakeview became our breakfast go-to, and a sweep through the shops is a must for handmade Michigan-themed goodies and even vintage items. Oh, and ice cream, of course.
Jeanne is a gracious host who lives on the property and is available but not intrusive. We felt we had privacy, though we were invited to join in on a pontoon ride and enjoyed conversations with Jeanne, learning about the area, the history of the property, how to properly launch a kayak ... a perfect host, in our opinion.
The Channel Cottage was our “home base” for exploring the area, which was new to us. In the evening, our comfy bed awaited. We were silly to ask for the TV (though Jeanne happily provided). You can set up your hot spot and all that, and stream Netflix if you want (bring your cable), but we didn’t need to. Unplug, explore, chill ... the Channel Cottage will not disappoint.
Kim and Dave - thank you so much for the kind words. I'm really pleased you enjoyed your stay. And it was a pleasure having interesting guests like you...my luck you chose here! I hope to see you under the grand finale again next year. Good luck on your venture!! J
Wonderful Time at Super-Cute Cottage
My two friends and I wanted to get away for a few days for some girl-time, so we chose this super-cute little cottage right on the water. It was a wonderful experience! Jeanne was so welcoming and friendly. She went way beyond our expectations as a host, and she was always available to help us with anything we might need. The cottage was incredibly cute and decorated perfectly. It was fun just to be inside such a charming place. There were kayaks and a paddle boat available for our use on a large, scenic lake. The deck of the cottage sits right on the water, and we spent much of our time out there. Jeanne also provided us with a grill (in addition to the kitchen inside) and we were able to grill all our own meals. Overall, this was by far the best VRBO experience we have ever had, and I highly recommend Jeanne’s cottage to anyone looking to have some fun on a lake, or to just get away for a while. We will definitely be coming back.
Local interesting trips include to Anderson Orchards, with an outdoor petting zoo popular with children, and wonderful fruits summer and fall.
The Winery at Young Farms is 20 miles away (a working farm since the 1890's). Recently expanded from a fresh farmstand to include the winery, it has a lovely tasting room, wonderful cider, a west Michigan setting, and you can even pick fresh blueberries there at the right time of year! https://www.thewineryatyoungfarms.com/
Heavenly Vineyards is down the road a bit farther. I haven't tried it as of this writing (June1/19) but I promise to visit and post my personal review here soon.
Robinette's Orchard and Winery is a must visit. Robinette's has been a West Michigan staple for over a 100 years. Their Apple Haus is famous for its baked offerings, cider mill, dining area, and monthly wagon tours of the Orchard. Check them out at
I love eating at the Blue Lake Tavern, overlooking the beautiful blue waters. The Blue Lake Tavern is 25 minutes of farmland country roads away, just outside Mecosta Michigan.
And I highly recommend you visit the Amish farms. About 15-20 miles away, they offer up fresh in-season produce stands where they also sell breads, jellies, preserves, rugs, and fat brown eggs.
For hikers and cyclists, West Michigan offers several Rail Trails - 20 minutes to the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail, and the Flat River Trail. Most trailheds only about 30 minutes away. Also, if you're seriously trying to rack up your miles on the NCT (North Counry Trail Ssytem), less than an hour away lies the beautiful Flat River Michigan section, just outside of Lowell where the NCT Association is headquartered. I've trekked two sections of it myself, and seen 4 eagles each time, teaching their brown-headed young how to fish the river.
