Why Geoff and Gwen Burdett chose Cheshire

Rookery Cottage just called out to us when we were searching for a home in the Chester area having moved here from the Lickey Hills near Birmingham in 1987. The house is an old estate cottage built in 1907 and extended sensitively by Geoff and Gwen. Countryside living beckoned and has has rooted us here since.

What makes this apartment unique

A place to relax with great Cheshire countryside, great local pubs a place to chill yet great links to Chester, Manchester and Liverpool. Also don't forget the Potteries and a fantastic canal network nearby.

Beautiful country setting.

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, rural apartment. Geoff and Gwen couldn't be more welcoming, we actually turned up early, as we were going to the races. We were allowed access to get changed and dump our bags. Apartment is home from home, very cosy and relaxing. The Nags Head is walking distance, serves excellent food and we were treated to entertainment on the lawn. The accommodation is so good,we have already re-booked for August.

Cosy, clean, and wonderfully peaceful

  • 4 of 5

The Rookery is a lovely self contained cottage which offers a relaxing break in beautiful countryside. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the local bistro pub (Nags Head) is a winner.

Well equipped kitchen with a lovely little welcome basket. Just remember to take shower gel, shampoo and a hairdryer as these are not supplied...although towels are.

Overall a great weekend! Thank you!

Owner's Response: Thank you we will look at the hair drier but to be honest we have found that shower and hair products seem to be a very personal item these days and most people want to use their preferred option Regards Geoff and Gwen

Cosy, clean and inviting

  • 5 of 5

On arrival we were met by Dave who was very welcoming and showed us everything we needed to know. A small welcome pack was waiting for us, which was extremely useful as we arrived in the evening and hadn't yet been shopping.

The property itself was very attractive and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. We would highly recommend The Rookery and will be coming to stay again.

Perfect little place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Couldn't have changed a thing about the area or the accommodation. It was just what we wanted in a nice peaceful area but still within close proximity of things to do if needed. I would definitely recommend here as a place to stay if you're looking to relax in a nice clean apartment. Nags head is also lovely, felt at home straight away.
