This place was an absolute disappointment. How about I start with check-in. Here is your key- and here is everything you can’t do and you don’t have access to... you can only use one tiny pool and the hot tub is out of service. Then you enter the room... there are bugs on the carpet everywhere.. there are bug traps under the beds and behind the desk- inviting! The carpet is super stained. <br />
Outside on your ground floor deck- you will find 2 office chairs for your leisure... or lack there of. Who sits in a lounge chair outside?!<br />
Needless to say- I went to the front desk and rented a real room. Expensive weekend.<br />

The pictured hot tub and pool are what our guests have access to, and we apologize the hot tub at the lodge is still down. This is out of our control, and we are hoping it is quickly addressed. The unit has been sprayed for bugs. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

A comfortable room at Suncadia
He had a room with two queen beds. Beds were good, the bathroom nice, Had good storage space in a compact environment. There were two padded desk chairs, but no easy chairs. However, the resort offers many attractive public spaces indoors and out in which to hang out. We enjoyed two meals at the portals restaurant and used the kitchen in our cousins larger unit for some meals. All in all, a very pleasant stay and beautiful environment for a family reunion.
Understandably a new listing, but many kinks to iron out...
We understand that this is a new listing, so there will be kinks to iron out. But, there are many.
First, there is the booking management system. We arrived to a room that was an absolute mess from the previous occupants. We were told there was some issue with the system that showed we weren't due until the next night. Though, we'd received welcome emails with the correct dates and all.
It should be noted the management company, and Julia in particular, made an effort to take care us, buying us dinner for the night, and then ultimately paying for an alternate room in the lodge as they were unable to ready the room before the following morning.
The first issue with this is that Suncadia plays no role in these rooms that are in their lodge. So, they are no help. In fact, when the toilet clogged, they wouldn't even let us borrow a plunger to use ourselves...policy, they said. We've stayed in many owner rented rooms within hotel lodges. Never have I experience a situation where the hotel has zero role in the management, even though they check you in, give you keys and bring your bags up, giving you a different first impression. I don't think this model works, as proven by our experience.
Now, some things missing from this new listing:
-For a double queen room (actually they are fulls), with an occupancy of 4, there are only two mugs and one glass, and only one coffee pod for our three day stay. No way to get clean glasses or mugs as the hotel is uninvolved, and no way to clean said glassware. There is also zero flatware...so no way to make a snack...no plate or knife or even spoon to stir our one cup of coffee.
-There was no mini-fridge, which should be pretty standard for a "Upscale Studio" or, say, any hotel room.
-The TV had no remote, and therefore was rendered useless as we couldn't even turn it on.
And it should be noted this is a suit style room with those doors that could be opened to the next room if you booked both. The doors are of terrible acoustic design and we could hear every word of our neighbors conversations, and no doubt they could hear ours. Also frustrating as they packed about 10 people into the room to hangout throughout the day.
These are the frustrations. When the room was finally ready for us, it was clean, the beds are comfortable, it's light, the view is great, and the access out on ground floor was great for our kids.
If they can work out these kinks this will be a fine listing.

A great setting with some kinks to work out.
I met an old friend for a 2 night girls’ retreat, and this unit at Suncadia was a perfect halfway point. The lodge and resort location were appealing, and the room was comfortable, but there were some issues that kept it from being seamless. The main issue seemed to be housekeeping: room was clean when we arrived, but used glassware was sitting right outside the door, clearly waiting to be collected. These had not moved by the morning we were leaving. We asked for some clean glasses or even just a second coffee mug from the lodge front desk, but were told they couldn’t give us anything, as our unit was managed by separate housekeeping. Over our 2 days, a couple of bags of trash sat in the corridor by the door of another unit, uncollected. By our 2nd night, the corridor reeked from it. So - a mixed bag, and seems like some kinks to work out for future rental experiences. We also would recommend owners install a small fridge along with sorting out a better housekeeping system. We love the area, and the room was adequate, but small details such as I’ve described were a nuisance.
