About Sue Parker
This beautiful property has been in my family since 1950. Happy Day Ranch was named by my grandmother Lannice, after a popular 1950's song. The opening line is: "The sun is shinin', oh, happy day-ay" Excursion down memory lane - quite fitting for this house :) My brother and my mother still live on the upper portion of the ranch. Homestead house lovingly restored with modern electrical, heating, and plumbing systems and restored historical finishes in 2009 while we lived the house and raised our kids. Now with empty nest, I am involved in a technology start-up company in Indiana focused on off-grid energy solutions. Sue and I rent a townhouse about a mile away from the ranch. We are happy to serve you or call upon family to help.

Why Sue Parker chose Basalt
Lots of history associated with this property. One of the oldest structures in the entire Roaring Fork Valley. Decades of wonderful memories of growing up fishing and camping (as well as ranch work), and later seeing my kids experience the same. Almost unlimited high rocky mountain exploring within a couple hours of the house.
