Really charming place!
I chose this place because it looked like it had character, and it really does! The owners were helpful and not intrusive. Little extras like coffee and wine made it feel like home when I first walked in the door. The only thing I didn't like was the highway.... It is quite close and was noisy at times, but not always. Also, the turn-off is not that well marked so I found myself slamming on the brakes when it came up, almost every time; not very safe, but better signage could remedy this. In addition, making left turns was a little scary because you're sitting there on the sandy road and have to really gun it to turn when you get the chance. Still, the cottage and yard are very cute (especially the cactus garden) and the night view of the town lights and stars was beautiful. We really enjoyed our afternoon naps in the AC and using the fire pit after long days of exploring the park. I would still recommend staying there in spite of the highway, especially for people with dogs, unless you're looking for something more remote and isolated.
A place we like to call paradise
This is our "go to" when we need a little down time, so we come to Green Acers at least twice a year, would not stay anywhere else! Albert, Sandra and CJ are the best
This was our second stay and we love this lovely, artsy, creative retreat! Thank you for the art supplies and now rock painting is my new thing. Impeccably clean, very comfortable, great location, and we will certainly be back!
Great Home away from home
This was our second time staying and we had a wonderful time. Thanks for everything!
Cool and Funky!
This place was an absolute delight as a place to stay and explore Joshua Tree National Park. It is indeed 'artistic, cool, and funky' as advertised. But the photos don't really do justice to the attention to detail in supplying everything you could want or need. Everywhere you turn around there's a touch that's not only cool and funky - but also functional. We would add the terms 'whimsical, fun, and creative' to the mix. If you like non-standard accommodations that retain the comfort and convenience of 'standard accommodations', this is your place. It was just plain fun! We highly recommend Fort Freaky.
Well appointed, cozy, comfy, and clean. The caretaker CJ was so attentive and very welcoming.
We absolutely loved the place and will stay again when we return to Joshua Tree.
