Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Kentucky - Unique Stone Cottage

Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 3-5)

THE COTTAGE'S MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY IS FIVE GUESTS.

RENTAL BOATS:

There is another new option this season! – In an ongoing effort to respond to customers’ requests for our fleet, we’ve added a sleek, 21ft. Bennington Southwind Deck Boat. It’s appointed with every detail necessary for meeting the needs of those who prefer luxury and style as they cruise in total comfort. It features ample seating, carpeting, sink, Bimini top, premium stereo, built-in cooler, swim ladder and is powered by a whisper quiet 150HP Yamaha 4-stroke.

For the fishermen, it depends on what they prefer. They may choose from a 21 foot Fishing / Ski Boat or a War Eagle Bass Boat, each has a 115HP Yamaha 4-stroke.

All boats in the fleet are delivered right to the guest's private dock. Please email for more info on the boats and special rates.

The Cottage:

The architect's plan for this refurbished, lovely stone cottage, positioned with truly the greatest view of the main Lake was to create the ultimate retreat for honeymoon couples or friends in search of prime hunting and fishing. The perfect base from which to explore Kentucky Lake has successfully been constructed. The 680 square-foot lake front area of its deck offers spectacular sunrises without another structure in sight - only a calm unspoiled setting - the lake and nature. This majestic environment seems complete as visitors experience the remarkable image of a Bald Eagle reflected on the water as it soars in to perch on the branch of a surrounding tree. The wrap around deck totals 1100 square feet and is the ideal place to discover the beauty and serenity of Kentucky Lake by the light of day or under a starry sky at any season of the year. There is no more beautiful setting to begin or end your visit to the Lake.

While the cottage's design maintains a rustic mood special attention has been paid to provide distinctive quality furnishings and unique amenities that ensure the guests' comfort and a restful visit. The top floor of the cottage has a cathedral ceiling. The living space and dining area feature a grand stone fireplace and floor to ceiling windows that share the main deck's great views. Two well appointed queen bedded rooms and a full bath are also upstairs. Downstairs with a separate entrance is a quaint twin bedded room with a full bath, as well as a laundry facility.

Enhancing and maintaining quality is a happy necessity that keeps our customers returning. Ensuring that every season be one of great memory making we recently installed a new custom boat dock adjacent to the cottage and added an on property boat rental. A very thoughtful process of considering what features make for the best waterfront experience has brought about many conveniences with the addition of the deluxe dock:

First, There is the Access - Here there is no steep slope or long trek to your boat. Being only one hundred feet away, step out the door and be on the dock in a minute or less.

Coverage and Quality are Redefined – Equipped with an attractive and highly functional hip roof, superior protection from the elements is ensured. It has one 24 foot covered slip. Not only is the aluminum decking non-slip, but it is splinter free. The dock has the option of electricity for charging trolling motors.

Then, there is the Relaxation & Recreation – If after a day out you return full of the sense that exploring and playing on the lake can be both fun and hard work, here is the place to reflect on the day you have had and contemplate tomorrow’s plans. This is not just a location to store your boat and gain direct access to the lake. If you are not planning to bring a boat this visit, having a 12x28 swim platform complete with a retractable ladder makes this the spot to share a fun and rejuvenating break lounging, sunbathing or swimming.

We cannot forget the Exceptional Fishing Possibilities - Many of the cottage’s guests return to revisit the location right on our lakefront where they have had very rewarding days fishing for blue gill, bass, crappie, and catfish. We are confident that their future visits will leave them happily convinced and surprised that their past successes here have been surpassed.

There is ample parking on the property for a boat trailer, and a marina with fuel is conveniently located just one cove away.

The Property Boat Rental: Several well-equipped boats are available to guests at special rates. It is one more convenience, and can add hours to vacation time on Kentucky Lake. There is no drive to and from a marina to collect and return a boat. For a rental over multiple days how great it is to have the driving completely eliminated? Imagine instead the pleasure of a sunrise breakfast ending seamlessly with a stroll across the lawn to board the boat that awaits you at your private dock. Effortlessly, straight from the comfort of your cottage a day out on the lake begins.

While visitors may be satisfied to not leave the property during their stay, there are many great experiences to be found locally:

FISHING: The fish are surely not hard to find, but for visitors with the goal of maximizing their fishing experience the owners have established relationships with the areas most knowledgeable guides. We are delighted to introduce guests to any one of these specialists who have each made it his life's passion to master and uncover this lake’s greatest features - impressive fishing opportunities and a wide array of wildlife. They are at the disposal of the expert or the novice and promise anyone wishing to learn and have the mysteries of Kentucky Lake revealed a day that will long be remembered.

GOLF: In addition to the satisfaction a day on the water offers, just a 15 minute drive away is Miller Memorial Golf Course - considered to be one of the finest golf courses in west Kentucky's lakes region, it presents many challenges for even the most seasoned golfer.

LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES: Guests have a direct view of the Land Between the Lakes from the cottage itself. It's just a 15 minute drive away. It is a national recreation area with 170,000 acres of wildlife, history, and outdoor activity opportunities, surrounded by 300 miles of undeveloped shoreline. LBL’s Elk & Bison Prairie is a 700-acre restoration of Kentucky’s native barrens. The Homeplace is an 1850’s working farm where west Kentucky’s history comes alive - Interpreters in period clothing demonstrate on a daily basis the chores and activities of another time. There are special events and festivals for every season. On another day one might return to explore the 200 miles of trails, the Nature Station, or the Golden Pond Planetarium & Observatory.

Why Pam & Paul chose Kentucky

Having been raised on Kentucky Lake I can’t imagine life anywhere else. I don’t take for granted how fortunate I am. Now sharing all the lake offers with others is extremely rewarding for us. Hearing from first time visitors that Kentucky Lake is so much more than they imagined it would be makes having developed our properties all worth while.

After completing several projects, both commercial and residential, my interest in architecture is combined with that of assuring a great vacation.

What makes this cottage unique

From the ground up there’s an emphasis that comes naturally on making sure our accommodations be of a quality not found in rental homes in the area, and that the features compliment this exceptional property and location. Whether it’s a unique attribute incorporated in the structural design or a special element that creates an unexpected convenience, making it unforgettable is the priority.

With my wife Pam having had a 20 year career in the luxury hotel & resort industry she lends a professional touch. As a Director for North America & Europe she lead a talented team overseeing Sales, Marketing and PR for many of the finest resorts & hotels in the world. Her knowledge is on a global scale from a wide array of 5-star themes. She visited renowned properties and met with clients on frequent around the world trips working in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean & Bahamas, Mexico, and numerous countries in Europe, the U.K., Asia, South East Asia, Australia, French Polynesia, and South America. She ensures a consistent commitment to the principles that keep our customers returning. Pam approaches each guest’s visit with the dedication she did as she helped cultivate standards that would exceed the expectations of dignitaries and celebrities alike.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We would like to thank you sincerely for sharing your amazingly beautiful cottage with our family this weekend. It was a true blessing to us, this is just what we needed! We played cards, watched movies, took our dogs for walks, and enjoyed the gorgeous view . . .together as a family! We are most grateful.

THE PLACE WE KEEP COMING BACK TO!

  • 5 of 5

We've had so many family events and obligations that unfortunately for us we haven't had a chance to get back to this property for too long. Last time we stayed at the owner's Cedar Shake home - it was great, but this time with it being just the 2 of us we paid our first visit to the stone cottage in awhile. It is as wonderful as ever. Cozy, peaceful - a great little home. As always the owners were just great. We saw Bald Eagles from inside and from the deck and really got lost in the view, as we only can here. The autumn colors were gorgeous. Thanks for making everything perfect, warm, clean and stocked with lots of the best!

Wonderful Getaway-No Detail Left Unturned!

  • 5 of 5

I have been fortunate enough to visit Pam and Paul's beautiful cabin on two separate occasions; once with my husband, two college-aged children, and our dogs; once for a late Fall weekend with my husband. We came away each time feeling like we had stayed at a lovely little boutique hotel. The cabin is nicely furnished, the kitchen is very well-stocked, the setting is incredible, and most striking of all is the amazing attention to detail. The hosts have obviously tried to anticipate their guests' every need. This is the perfect destination for someone who is looking for rest, relaxation, and quality family time. The lake view is spectacular from the deck or the dock, and we even had a visit from some young bald eagles. We highly recommend the Stone Cottage on the Lake!

One more time

  • 5 of 5

I'm sad to report I just returned from my 4th visit to the stone cottage on KY Lake....sad? Yes! I could have stayed another 8 days. Lovely as always...rained a bit, but that didn't keep us from enjoying bass fishing every day! Rain! I got my Toyota and my 2014 Skeeter FX20 stuck while parking my rig. Had to call a tow truck to get both out. My husband went to tell Pam and Paul that their pretty grass had a truck and boat stuck and had created a little mud...They immediately came to offer help. They were gracious and more concerned about my rig than the grass. My husband, Nashi (our little Shiba Inu) and I hope to go again. No need to write about the beautiful, well kept cabin. It is as described, but words really don't do justice to the quaint, comfortable home away from home! Boo! I miss it already.

Excellent place to Stay - The Best on VRBO we have stayed at

  • 5 of 5

This place is excellent. It is completely filled with everything you would need and is right on the water. The view from the kitchen and dining area is nothing short of phenomenal of the lake. The place is well kept up and I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants a great place to stay on the lake in Murray. There is tons of information at the house for anyone who wants to visit the local area shopping, golfing , grocery stores and places to see. We will definitely come back. Great place if you take your pet as well.

Mix of rustic, well equipped and private resort

  • 5 of 5

What a joy to be with Pam and Paul at their place. They left us alone, but whenever we had the most basic questions, they helped like a concierge team. We relaxed and enjoyed with our two grown children. The generous hosts made us feel like we were their only guests, and that's a special skill. We would come back to the cozy cottage in a minute. Our grown son had his own room downstairs, and the laundry and kitchen were great. Please leave some spots open in the calendar for us!
